Letter From Head of School
I’ve had the privilege of serving as your future head of school for the past six months, fulfilling my responsibilities as Head of Secondary Education while ensuring a smooth transition for our school and our KRCS community. Even though it felt like I was “drinking from the fire hose” at times, as I’ve grown older, I have realized that change is a natural part of life. I have found great comfort from the people around me throughout this time, but the most comfort has come from my relationship with Jesus Christ.
The name of our magazine is “BE STILL,” and, in the context of my new role, the words spoken by Jesus in Mark 4:39 spoke to me, “Peace, Be Still.” In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus calms the storm.

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”
Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
During my transition, I realized that you may be going through one of your own; maybe you’re new to our school, or maybe you have a new job or house or have a child starting in a new grade level. My prayer for you is that you find strength and comfort.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed for the Lord our God is with you, wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9
Peace, Be Still.
Mark 4:39
I couldn’t be more blessed to be building on the legacy of our former heads of schools, Barbara Adler, David Rhodes, and Dr. Jeff Williams, respectively. KRCS will always be grateful to the leaders, faculty, staff, students, and families who came before us; now it is our responsibility to always stay true to our school’s mission. As your Head of School, my goal is to focus on building relationships and strengthening our culture in order to protect our mission and ensure every child is known and loved.
As we head into the new school year, everywhere you look there is evidence of God’s work at King’s Ridge Christian School. This year we have had an amazing 95% school-wide re-enrollment. 100% of our board, 100% of our faculty and staff, and 70% of our families have contributed to our capital campaign. We have had unbelievable success in our fine arts and athletic programs. Our senior Class of 2022 had a record level of college acceptance into some of the finest colleges and universities in our country. And, we continue to be overwhelmed with the number of applications and tours by families who want to come to our school.
Together, we are charged with protecting our mission to “provide a college preparatory education equipping students to know, to serve, and to believe” and moving it forward. Your support and partnership are now more important than ever. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” I am excited about our school’s leadership and faculty and staff who want to love, encourage, and challenge your children. I am looking forward to collaborating with you and KRCS ONE, our parent organization. I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible community that has a heart for our school and a heart for Jesus.
I pray for your peace and for you to “be still” as we begin our new school year. Each and every student, faculty, staff, and parent is an amazing gift to our school, and I am honored to serve you. I hope you have a wonderful school year and may God continue to bless you and King’s Ridge Christian School.
