Lucky 13 The graduating class embraces lucky 13. Whether we began at King as Pre-K students or as Juniors, we have had the good fortune to come together as a unique class. We think for ourselves and don't subscribe to surperstitions. We debunk any unlucky connotation of the number thirteen. Instead, we have created a positive meaning for thirteen. Far from unlucky, the class of 2013 grew together, led together, worked together, and will succeed together as we continue our journey beyond King. As all King students look back on the graduating seniors, they will remember a fortunate class who inspires hope.

M as. W a g n e r The senior class of 2013 would like to dedicate the yearbook to our Upper School Academic Dean, Mrs. Karin Wagner. She always looks out for our best interests and she makes us feel we are her top priority; her door is always open. She is always present at all of our school events, from assemblies to homecoming and prom, all while ensuring that everything goes off without a hitch. Most of all, Mrs. Wagner is compassionate and understanding, approaching every member of the community with a smile and friendly demeanor. She is the epitome of the King ideal: cultured, poised, responsive, and attuned to all that's going on. She has been a steady presence in our Upper School lives here at King and with admiration we dedicate this yearbook to her.

Head of School Thom as Main Dear Class of 2013, You are, indeed, a fortunate (lucky) group. Your good fortune has no boundaries, and reaches almost every corner of your lives. I'll mention just a few. You are fortunate that your families are supportive, committed to your best interests, and have been willing to make the sacrifices necessary to send you to King. You have benefitted from a first rate education - teachers, advisors, and coaches that care deeply about your success and happiness - but only because your families cared enough to make it a priority to send you here. That is a decision they might have made 2 years ago - or 14 years ago - but it was a significant, generous, and thoughtful decision, and you are fortunate they made it. You are fortunate to be members of such an able, diverse, and motivated senior class. So much of the high school experience is rooted in the connections with peers that share the experience with you. Your class will not soon be forgotten. You are a group with tremendous and varied talents, accomplishments at the highest levels, stars in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, in the studio, and out beyond the boundaries of our campus. You are fortunate to have shared your educational journey with such a wonderful group of peers, and I hope that you maintain many of your King friendships in the years to come. You are fortunate because of the talents, abilities, and sense of purpose that each one of you brought to your educational experience. Our School values the individual in a rare and genuine manner, and each of you has taken advantage of the gifts you possess, making this experience one that has furthered your development, as an individual of personal accomplishment and true substance. It has been our good fortune to be a part of your development. Now, a particularly lucky group of colleges and universities will have the good fortune of you joining their communities. You are prepared, and I know you will be successful. I hope that you are able to appreciate all of the good fortune that you have experienced leading up to this moment, and reflect on the responsibility that accompanies it as you move into adulthood. Just as your good fortune has had no boundaries for years, so does your ability to go out and do good work resist those same boundaries. What will you do - over the next 10, 20, or 30 years to assure that others can claim to be as lucky as you? I am sure that we won't have to wait long for the answers.

TLF Lepps- Since the first day of sophomore year, we've been inseparable. I can't even list the amount of things we have been through and the hysterical times we have had. DJ- Turns out I do like green apples. These past two years have been a roller coaster. All the ups and downs, lefts and rights, and loops. So many things coming from all angles. Good thing I love rides! As I always say, focus on the future and don t dwell on the past. So here is a scribble looking forward, you got into college, you have a great friends and are going to make new ones, you are clearly keeping me, and you will not be afraid of the penguin . Through everything (including our fight freshmen year),thanks for being the bestest friends ever GO- you are just the perfect the height for me when we walk (you know what im talking about). Hahah our Nantucket trip and to spain. England/Poland summer trip?! Kocham cie! TP- BOOBOO! I could write you a book (like I did for your 16th birthday). I actually cannot even begin to count all of the things that we have been through or done together. MRC SB: Dude. We had some good times. And how we survived King I'll never know. On the bright side, I think after 4 years of high school we managed to redeem ourselves from middle school presidency. Its kinda interesting that we always had very intellectual conversations even when we had the maturity level at which one considers Bo Burnham to be the funniest man ever. Although, New Math is still pretty good. CM:. How did you manage to win the citizenship award when you decide you'd rather be in Texas than sit through the ceremony that honors it! Like how do you do it? And while I'mon this rant I might as well say it... Asiana is sub par. Let's be honest. I have o say though, I am going to miss shooting hoops and watching your cowboys lose. CM and SB: we need to plan a road trip. Hiking, fishing, and stereotypical fireside guitar playing will be involved... I apologize in advance. Spencer is also forbidden from driving because it would be nice to eventually get to where we wanted to go. Oh and Christian gets shotgun when I drive his wingmanship is legendary. PC: I freaking love your hugs. They may be the thing I miss the most next year. I also loved taking you out for a date. KINGSOCCER: The brotherhood. In kindergarten we were to say the least—"hardly acquaintances", but now its like we've become the same person. EMH KT-you've been my best friend since the first grade, and I don't know how I would've lasted this long at King without you. I'm going to miss you when we're off at college, but obviously we'll stay incontact & hang out on breaks! MW & AH- I'm so glad I met you two last year, senior year would not have been as fun without you! To the Field Hockey team- Thank you all so much for the best four seasons ever! This team has truly been a family, and I don't know what my fall would have been like without it.
