Classes led by outstanding faculty are central to the King’s experience. First year class sizes at King’s are small by university standards with most on average between 50-60 students. King’s students are Western students and have complete access to all the facilities, services, and athletics at Western. They can take some of their courses at Western’s main campus, or at one of the other affiliated university colleges: Brescia or Huron. Most importantly, King’s students graduate with a Western degree.

Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Year 3 entry Master of Social Work (MSW Articulation Agreements King’s has partnered with a number of Ontario Colleges to create pathways through transfer credit agreements.


Admission Requirements Students applying to King’s University College from a College of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) within Canada must present one the following: • Completion of a one-year General Arts and Science Certificate, Human Services Foundation Certificate, or Pre-Health Science Certificate with a minimum cumulative average of “B” • Complete of a two of three-year CAAT diploma with a cumulative average of “B” or better, or a “B” average in the last two semesters Admissions Requirement Note: • Averages quoted are minimum requirements only and does not guarantee admission. • There may be secondary school level prerequisite courses necessary to be eligible for registration in some King’s courses, or to be eligible for admission to some programs. Please contact the office of Enrolment Services for more information before applying.

Transfer Credit Assessment Students offered admission from a CAAT will have their applications assessed for transfer credit provided their application meets the following requirements: • Have a completed, or be in the final year of, a two-year or three-year diploma program at a CAAT. • Presented a minimum final grade of 60% on each course to be considered for credit. • Courses must be recognized as covering an acceptable amount of subject matter and meet the academic standards of King’s University College. • The maximum number of transfer credits available to CAAT applicants is 5.0 credits (equivalent to one year). • Credits granted may be either generic/non-specific credits or exact equivalency credits. • Some transfer credits granted may not fit into a degree dependent on the program of choice. New students should make an appointment with an Academic Counsellor for program planning.

CAAT Entrance Scholarships King’s University College offers an unlimited number of CAAT Entrance Scholarships to qualified applicants. Students must remain registered in 4.0 courses and meet King’s residency requirements. Averages and scholarship amounts are listed below. Final Average Scholarship Amount 80.0 - 81.9% $1000 82.0 - 84.9% $1500 85.0 - 89.9% $2000 90.0% or above $2500 *Students must provide final, official transcripts from their previous institution before scholarship money will be applied to the student’s account.
