Your Western Email Account With access to your Western email account, you can check the status of your application, apply for residence and receive important communication from the university. This is the primary way that we will communicate with you so be sure to activate your email account right away so you don’t miss any important deadlines. Remember to ensure that your computer cookies are enabled and your pop-up box feature is turned on. After activating your Western identity, you are required to set up MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) immediately after which is an additional security step that Western has implemented. Information about how to do this is here. Failing to set up MFA will result in your email being disabled. The Student Centre will be unavailable Sundays between midnight and 6 am. Please contact info@kings.uwo.ca if you have any issues activating your Western Identity.

Admissions
Early offers of admission begin in December and continue on an ongoing basis from January to July as additional grades become available. Conditional offers of admission are based on course work in progress and require successful completion of your course with a minimum final overall average outlined in your offer of admission. If you have any questions about your admission, or about the grades which we have received, please feel free to call us (519-433-3491 ext. 7200 or toll free 1-800-265-4406). We would love to hear from you! If transferring from an Ontario college or university, transcripts may be electronically submitted through the Ontario University Application Center (OUAC). If you are a current Ontario high school student applying through the OUAC 101 application, your grades will be submitted to King’s automatically.
We encourage prospective students to apply as soon as possible to allow for processing time of their application. Admissions requirements are found here. King’s recognizes that extenuating circumstances and extracurricular activities can affect an individual’s academic performance. If you wish to provide us with additional information for consideration, please complete the Applicant Profile here.
English Proficiency Requirements Students admitted to King’s University College must be proficient in both written and spoken English. If English is not your first language, you must provide proof of your proficiency in listening, speaking, writing and reading English. Typically, this is done through an official test or ESL program. We reserve the right to ask anybody to provide proof of English language proficiency. Find more information about these tests, and our English language partners here.

Scholarships
In addition to our generous, automatic entrance scholarships, King’s offers a range of scholarships that recognize volunteerism, financial need, community engagement and leadership. Students must apply by April 30th to be considered for these additional scholarships and awards. View the full list here. All scholarships are based on the final admission average and include program pre-requisites. To be eligible for entrance scholarships, students must remain registered in 4.0 courses (students must meet residency requirements). Exceptions may be made for varsity athletes, members of Student Council, or those registered with Accessibility Services.

Student Financial Services Financing your university education can be a challenge. King’s recognizes this challenge and is able to provide support and a variety of services to assist our students. King’s offers an on-campus employment program for students with financial need called the Work Study Bursary Program. This program assists students with a regular source of income and works around their academic schedule and to provide training and experience. More information can be found here. International students also have the opportunity to work on campus through our International Work Experience Program (IWE). This program will provide a limited number of international students the opportunity to work on campus and gain valuable experience. Learn more here. Personal and confidential financial counselling is available to all of our students and includes; help understanding and applying for the OSAP program, financial seminars and workshops on best way to spend/save money, budgeting and more. Residence / Making the Transition
Live in the Heart of King’s Residence is more than just a convenient place to live—it’s a vibrant, supportive community committed to the values of diversity, respect and academic achievement. King’s University College provides on-campus housing for approximately 400 students. Living in residence puts you next door to all the facilities at King’s, including food services, the library, your classes, and bus service to Western and the City of London. All first year applicants who received an offer of academic admission to King’s are offered guaranteed residence until the established deadline date (typically June 1st). You will receive your offer of residence in your academic offer package. Residence space may be available after the guaranteed deadline date; however, this cannot be guaranteed. Meal plans are available for both Residence and Off-Campus students.
Making the Transition King’s is committed to ensuring a smooth transition to your first year of studies at university. A wide variety of programming has been established to provide the resources you will need to be successful. Summer Academic Orientation (SAO) As of April 1, you can book your summer academic counselling appointment. These academic advising appointments will assist you in making important decisions about your first-year, course selection, timetable and degree options/planning. Learn more here.

KAMP The King’s Academic Mentoring Program (KAMP) is a peer-mentoring program that pairs first-year students with an upper-year student who can help navigate the transitions experienced in first year. Learn more here.

Campus Wellness
We are committed to providing an accessible and barrier-free learning environment with services geared toward a wide range of needs. This may include academic accommodation, assistive technology, and alternative-to-print materials among many others.
In addition to the many resources for students at the Western Wellness Centre and in the London Community, King’s offers a variety of wellness programming and groups such as mindfulness meditation, a group on making change and a group on being resilient.
New students are encouraged to contact Accessibility, Counselling & Student Development as soon as possible to make an appointment with an Accessibility Counsellor to discuss academic accommodations for the Fall/Winter term, and to learn how they can assist in making the university experience a positive and rewarding one.

King’s is a leader in its commitment to internationalization and its encouragement of all students to become intercultural learners. • Meet students from around the world. Over 20% of King’s students are international and come from over 30 nations. What better way to get connected globally? • Get involved with the International Student Peer Guide Program, or the Bridging Orientation Program and volunteer with assisting new international students. If you have been on an exchange, volunteer in the Global Ambassador Program to help promote international study and exchange to other King’s students. • Each year approximately 100-150 King’s students participate in an international experience. • King’s University College will grant a $1000 bursary to full-time students participating in an academic exchange program or experiential learning opportunity for 1 semester or less ($500 for part-time students), or $2000 for a full year academic exchange program.
Immigration Information To enter Canada - Student Authorization You must ensure that you obtain your student visa in sufficient time to ensure your arrival before the start of classes. To obtain a visitor’s visa to enter Canada, and a ‘Study Permit’ granting permission to study in Canada, all students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents must submit the following documents to a Canadian Consulate or embassy outside of Canada. • Passport and travel documents (if applicable) • Medical clearance • Letter of acceptance from a Canadian university
• Evidence of adequate funds • Documentary proof of authority to transfer funds to Canada if required • Evidence of return passage or evidence that funds will be available for that purpose at the completion of studies • A letter from a sponsoring organization (if applicable) For more information, please consult the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website and King’s International.
When You Come to Canada Most international students require a study permit to study in Canada. On arrival in Canada a study permit and visitor’s
permit (if applicable) must be presented to the border officials to gain entry to Canada. Please check the Citizenship and Immigration website to determine if you require a Visitor Visa to enter Canada.
Getting to London, Ontario from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport International students who arrive at Pearson International Airport can take the Robert Q airport bus directly to London. Please inquire at the Ground Transportation Desk at the airport to make these arrangements. The bus trip from Toronto to London takes
about two hours. Flights from Pearson Airport to London are also available. Check with your travel agent for flight information when you book your trip to Canada. London hotel information can be found here.
