Disability Studies Bachelor of Arts (BA)

OUAC Program Code: EKB Disability Studies (DS) rethinks traditional and medical approaches to imagining disability, mental health and related social institutions using a liberal arts lens to explore the variety of possible, yet uncommonly shared, meanings. Through analysis of everyday life cases, we reconfigure the common perception that it is the disability that needs to be fixed or cured, and instead look at ways the social, policy and built environments can be adapted. Human Right Studies Bachelor of Arts (BA)

OUAC Program Code: EKH

Human Rights are based on the belief that every human being deserves to be treated with equal dignity, and that every person has inherent value. But how do we move towards these goals? Human Rights Studies questions not only how we fulfill these ideals, but also how we fail to do so in different times and places. It equips students with the intellectual and practical skills they need to explore, understand, and act as change agents in the equal granting of all human beings the status and the rights associated with their being.
