LET’S HOPE THE END IS IN SIGHT
As we go to press with this April edition we’re all desperately hoping that the promised oneway road to freedom out of Lockdown goes without a hitch. The only thing we have learnt over the last year is not to try and predict too far into the future and try and take each day at a time. But that’s easier said than done when you’re worried about your job, your business, your child’s education, putting food on the table and more crucially, your health.

There is definitely Lockdown fatigue as we come up to the anniversary of restrictions being enforced but one thing that is incredibly positive at the moment is the speed of the vaccination roll out. The supplies of vaccines appear to be good and a chance that the restrictions will start to be eased by the time you read this magazine. This whole period has certainly taught us to take nothing for granted and I hope that as we gradually get our lives back together we will be able to keep the best bits from Lockdown. Be it, more working from home and a better work/life balance, less rushing around and thereby reducing our carbon foot print, helping the vulnerable and being more considerate to all sections of society, keeping up excercise regimes to taking a more mindful approach to life.
When restrictions do ease we must support our local businesses, high streets and the advertisers in this magazine. This will help the whole region to get back on its feet as quickly as possible and provide the jobs and security we all desperately need. Now that the end is in sight and we adjust to a new normal, let’s not forget some of the lessons we’ve learnt. Stay safe and well. Richard Milbourn, Editor E: editor@carnahpublications.com
