There is a cliché according to which scientists should have nothing to do with passion, they should hold cold rigour as their ideal, which would be the phenomenical form of scientific objectivity. From this cliché emerges an image of a basically unfeeling scientist, who is keen on his speciality and is basically unable to communicate with other human beings. Is this idea reasonable? Do the masters who guided me in my scientific life correspond to this image? And do I recognise myself in it? When I was at my high- school I was deeply touched by Giovanbattista Vico’s statement: “Human beings first feel, then become aware with a troubled and emotional soul, then they reflect with a pure mind”. When I read this statement I remembered some beautiful July nights years before- I was twelve then- when I used to look at the sky from the terrace of my uncle’s house. I did not look at stars as something other than me, I did not learn their names, which I ignore still: I simply tried to penetrate them, I was curious of them, I wanted to know how they lived, what their internal being was, I wanted to talk to them, I was curious of them, I felt that curiosity that is the pre- requisite of love. It was not, however, a possessive love; would I have felt disturbed if one million people besides me had simultaneously had my same empathetic relationship with the same star? And what would have happened if the star I was then in love with had exploded into a supernova and had thus disappeared? Nothing would have happened, I would have turned to another star; the cosmos is infinite and it never dies. During these night journeys of my ego I was happy, troubled and touched. I go back to my rational self and call back the pure mind, as Vico suggested, but how could I ever have called it if I had not been happy for my troubled and emotional soul? After many years I met a very important physicist: Herbert Fröhlich, whom I admired not only for his scientific discoveries, but also for his human greatness, for his refusal to serve institutional potentates not only the notorious Hitlerian and Stalinist tyrannies but also the liberal democratic imperialisms of the Western societies which prevented him from accessing to the utmost scientific honours.

In a recent essay Herbert Frölich’s widow Fanchon Fröhlich remembers: “Philosophically he believes that there is an impersonal, non- individualistic path or Tao embedded both in the world and in the mind, and that at some deep level of insight they coalesce. Thus with respect to modem science, he regards the coalescence of the abstract mathematics done in the mind or an a piece of paper with the elaborate experiments done in a laboratory as a source of wonder and mystery (in contrast to the reductionist who thinks this tautologically trivial). He has frequently said that in the creative process of thinking his mind goes out from his human frame and becomes the physical particle and field situation, feeling directly how they tend to behave, but using the techniques of mathematics both to capture this unknown physical situation and as an anchor so the mind can return to his own brain or everyday personality. There after he solidifies what he has found during these mental voyages in calculations”. As the Tao Te

Ching says” To understand emptiness, first you must become emptiness”. His deeper intention might be expressed as the wish to make matter conscious. This is based on a metaphysical belief that once matter has been understood, penetrated by mind, the matter is itself transformed. Such conviction exhibits parallels with Jung’s ideas on Alchemy. He considers that the hard-edged external irony of logical positivism confuses the method of discovery in science with the subsequent method of exposition. This, methodologically very important, is the distinction between physics as written for publication, as if it were a logical discovery. One should distinguish between the beauty of the process – a mathematically guided Einfühlung, and the cool elegance of the subsequent mathematical formulation. It is this complete immersion in the trip of discovery, Einfühlung, that constitutes his special unending happiness. Such tendency also manifests itself in his interest outside physics. He shared with his friend, Pauli, an interest in the Jungian concept of the collective unconscious. The discovery process follows a totally different path to the results expounded during lectures or in textbooks. In the discovery process the scientist lends his own unconscious to the object of his research. As Giuseppe Vitiello states, the human brain exists and works because the ensemble of its oscillators resounds with a corresponding group of external oscillators which is exactly its double. External oscillators assure dissipativity, which is an essential condition for life according to Prigogine and many others. As the human being’s emotional nucleus is exactly the coherent fluctuation of his

living substance, the emotional nucleus, that is passion, is the condition enabling the brain to work. It is therefore the pre- requisite for the development of science. I have recently learnt these concepts, but my boyish unconscious was already convinced of their truth and indeed it was already working with them. I thus chose to enrol on physics, in order to become a theoretical physicist, I decided to concentrate on the mysteries of physics, which I then identified with the world of elementary particles. All that happened in the Sixties. Unfortunately my beginnings were not particularly happy. I was strongly disturbed by the coldness of the mathematical formalism to which the theory of physics was reduced; there was no trace left of the emotion of those July nights with the stars. In those years my passion was devoted to the social and political struggles in which I actively took part and from which I understood that reality cannot be spilt in independent “atoms”, the individuals, who only interact through reciprocal collision or the implementation of external forces. On the contrary, reality bases on the correlation of all its parts, which communicate through the common environment of which they are a part I later learnt that that common environment is the “quantum vacuum”. Another reason for my feeling upset was the belief of many physicists who stated that quantum physics implied the impossibility of an objective understanding of reality, so that very important faculties such as intuition ranked second compared to mathematical formalism. In the seventies I bumped into the works of Willhelm Reich’s, an heretical thinker of the Twentieth Century, who was one of Freud’s partners, who later broke away from his master’s approach in order to undertake a study of the material bases of the psyche; a living being, even more so if a human being, is not only a group of molecules interacting on the basis of chemical laws. On the contrary, it is an individual capable of global purpose- oriented behaviours. Through what kind of intermolecular dynamics does the purpose of the acts of living beings emerge? What specific intermolecular dynamics is the cause of my being sad or happy? In 1975 I found a field that would keep my mind busy till the present day, that is the study of the emergence of the collective properties of matter and particularly of the living state. Some years later I met Herbert Fröhlich, who became my model. Meanwhile I started to interact with other colleagues with a different background who all aimed at the same targets: Giuseppe Vitiello, Silvia Doglia, Marziale Milani. 5


I first discovered that quantum physics was the right conceptual field to make my boyish dreams come true and that the disturbing elements I mentioned above did not belong to the conceptual basis of the theory, rather they were the product of the rough epistemology of some physicists and even more, of the prejudice about the fundamental role of the individual approach. Bell’s well-known theorem (1964) summarises the incompatibility of the following three statements: 1.

quantum physics is valid.

2.

an objective description of physical reality is possible.

3.

physical reality is a group of events localizable in space and time.

One of the previous three statements has to be dropped. Einstein dropped the first one. Indeed, in his later years he stated that quantum physics could not be the definite level of the development of theory. Bohr and most quantum physicists dropped the second statement, thus producing the well-known paradoxes. There remained the fascinating possibility of dropping the third statement, which was very tempting to one who, like me, held communist views. An objective quantum description of reality, free from the slightest vein of subjectivism must necessarily include the existence of extended space domains in which the constituents revealed an in-phase connection, thus producing synchronical behaviours (i.e. unconnected to light speed), as stated by Jung in his dialogue with Pauli. We will come back to this point later. The possibility of these behaviours had already been anticipated by Walter Nernst in 1916, who wondered what would happen if the originally unconnected quantum oscillations of atoms suddenly tuned in, thus producing a common oscillation of the whole ensemble of atoms; this common oscillation would provide the object with its unity and possibly with its purpose. These concepts fascinated me and opened my eyes to a new world. Quantum physics had been distorted by some of its followers. I remembered Epicure’s confession, which Karl Marx later quoted: “ Unholy people are not those who deny the existence of the gods of the populace, rather unholy people are those who endow gods with the feelings of the populace”. I thus came back to the origins of quantum physics and I studied Walter Nernst’s approach, which seemed particularly enlightening. Nernst focused on the problem of the molar heat capacity of solids at a low temperature. Let us consider a body consisting in a definite number of atoms, for instance Avogadro’s number. The molar heat capacity is the

amount of heat needed to increase the temperature of a mole of matter by one degree (a mole is a set of atoms corresponding to Avogadro’s number). Temperature is the average kinetic energy of atoms. Molar heat capacity must therefore correspond to a welldefined variation of the total kinetic energy. Say we are within a temperature interval which is below the lowest phase transition or structural variation of the body, so that its potential energy remains constant. The total amount of energy transferred to the body is changed into variation of the total kinetic energy of its atoms. As the heat interval of one degree corresponds to a definite amount of energy, the molar heat capacity of a solid at a low temperature must be constant and it does not depend on temperature. This statement coincides with the famous experimental law worked out by Dulong and Petit, which is valid for medium-low temperatures. If, however, this law were accepted as valid at temperatures approaching and reaching absolute zero, thermodynamics would enter a crisis because entropy would be infinite. In order to analyse the possibility of this catastrophe Nernst examined the behaviour of molar heat capacity of solids at a low temperature and he found that they vanished when the temperature approached zero ( third principle of thermodynamics). The entropy crisis at low temperature was thus avoided. However, classical mechanics entered a crisis. As a matter of fact, in order to increase temperature by one degree, the amount of energy required (molar heat capacity) decreased as temperature gradually approached zero. The molar heat capacities corresponded to the sum of all the energy flows coming from detectable sources (particle collisions, applied force fields). The fact that the “legal market” of energy provides an amount of energy which does not account for the increase of temperature by one degree may mean two things: either the atoms of the body could autonomously increase their kinetic energy (violation of the inertia principle) or there existed an “illegal” energy market which the body could revert to. The former possibility was absurd and would upset all scientific tradition; the latter attracted my Neapolitan soul. Nernst too chose the latter explanation, and he concluded that not only the recognisable and identifiable physical bodies could be a source of energy and momentum, also the vacuum could be. This reservoir of energy and momentum could be revealed when the other reservoir, the “thermal bath”, gave a flow which was small enough; that happens for example at a low temperature. On the contrary

at a high temperature the energy flow from the vacuum was insignificant when compared to that of the “thermal bath”. The appearance of the vacuum as a physical agent broke a pillar of classical physics, which is the concept of isolated body. No body could now be isolated: indeed, even if it could be kept away from the influence of other bodies, it could never be disconnected from the vacuum. Through the vacuum all bodies interacted and, since the arrival of a “wave” from the vacuum could not be predicted, each individual body was subject to unpredictable “quantum” fluctuations. It is not the interaction of the object with its observer that originates quantum fluctuations, rather it is its interaction with the vacuum. The crisis of classical physics thus appears at a low temperature. It is, however, a common belief that the crisis was revealed by the divergence to infinity of the function of spectral distribution of the radiation released by a black body when frequency tends to infinity or when the wavelength tends to zero (catastrophe of the ultraviolet). Wien’s law states that the function of spectral distribution depends on the radiation frequency and on the temperature of the source through their ratio. Consequently, the mathematical structure of the theory must allow to simulate the temperature limit tending to zero with the frequency limit tending to infinity. The ultraviolet catastrophe should thus be replaced by the catastrophe of cold. The above intellectual path convinced me to consider “quantum” physics as the most important instrument to solve significant antinomies of the previous scientific tradition, such as that between matter and motion. Through the quantum fluctuations bodies are always in motion, so nature does not reveal any “horror vacui”, on the contrary it reveals a form of “horror quietis” thanks to the vacuum as another important physicist, Giuliano Preparata, once stated. I had the chance to meet him and he soon became both a friend and a partner to me. His book “Introduction to a Realistic Quantum Physics” published posthumously in 2002, sheds some precious light on the conceptual scheme of quantum physics. His statements about the nature of the quantum vacuum are also enlightening. The separation between matter and motion, the expulsion of the motion from the concept of matter leads up to a conception of matter as an inert passive entity, incapable of development when free from external forces, whose nature and dynamics are extrinsic to the nature of the matter which suffers their action. In its conceptual structure

classical physics mirrors the dualism between the machine and the project of its designer, between hardware and software, between two distinct entities in which the passive element, the product, owes its existence and its mechanics to the creator’s project. The generalization of this separation within the whole universe leads up to the introduction of some demiurgue’s “intelligent project” as an axiom explaining the motion of nature. The separation between matter and motion is the common ground where the positivist scientist and the theologian impartially cooperate: their common aim would be to free matter from its compulsion to motion so that motion becomes an external entity without which matter would remain inert. This was indeed the programme on which the first modern scientific institution, the Royal Society, rested. It was founded in the 17 century and was one of the ideological th

pillars of the English monarchy, which had been restored after Cromwell’s Revolution. The other pillar was the Church of England. Each pillar stated that the divine, that is the factor of motion in matter, was not inherent in matter. This statement was against the belief held by the great magic Renaissance tradition, whose heroes were Paracelsus, Giordano Bruno, Böhme and Campanella. In this Renaissance tradition matter was considered to be active, as described by Epicure. Marx stressed the antagonism between the Epicurean and the Democritean conception, in which matter is passive, as in classical physics. The old clerical powers and the new power of the victorious _ therefore no longer revolutionary _ bourgeosie, united against this vision of matter as an entity which is capable of autonomous motion. In their opinion the principle of activity and motion cannot be inherent in matter, which would otherwise organise itself autonomously. As a matter of fact, such selforganisation has indeed taken place throughout the history of natural evolution. Thus matter would no longer accept the idea that it depends on God, embodied on earth by the Church, the State, by capital, the market, by experts, health authorities, scientific authorities, in other words by all slaves of power, with exclusion of the material body which must evolve. At the beginning of the 20 century, on the eve of the great revolutions which th

shook the world and were eventually defeated, the evolution of scientific thought led to quantum physics whose concept of the oscillations of the vacuum put motion back to matter and re-estabilishes the possibility of a new connection between rigorous science

and the great magic Renaissance tradition, which had been interrupted in the 17 century th

by the holy alliance between secular science and clerical theology. I became aware of this conceptual background in the Seventies and Eighties so that my youthful passion, which had till then found no outlet in science, could finally merge with scientific reason, thus nourishing such a myth as Prometheus’ in my enthusiastic mind. Prometheus gave mankind the fire, which had so far been kept by the gods: I could, together with a whole movement of thought linked to such names as Wilhelm Reich, Herbert Fröhlich, Giuliano Preparata and the Japanese physicist Hiroomi Umezawa, my friend Vitiello and many other younger scientists, take part in the restoration of the principle of motion and self-organisation to matter, which had always followed it. The portion of reality in which self-organisation produces its strongest effects is living matter, where purpose, psyche and consciousness emerges from the molecular level. I can pick up a stone and a cat and drop them from the same height. They take exactly the same time to reach the ground, which proves the basic unity of matter. However, after the fall the stone remains where it is, whereas the cat runs away or rather attacks me. The cat thus belongs to a more advanced level of matter than the stone. What is the difference between the cat’s molecules and the ones of the stone? If we analyse the chemical structure of animate and inanimate matter, we discover a remarkable difference. In the latter, chemical reactions take place after random collisions between molecules consequent to their diffusive motion; in this condition molecules are polygamous since the likelihood and speed of reaction depend only on the law of mass action. That is why in an industrial chemical reactor, together with the “useful “encounters between molecules which lead to the production of wished-for molecular species, also produces a great number of “unintended” encounters leading to unwishedfor molecular species, the so-called “industrial chemical waste”, so far an inevitable byproduct of any chemical industry. In the biological chemical reactor, instead, molecules discover monogamy, in other words they meet and react on the basis of codes (of which the genetic code is an example); molecule A only meets molecule B and not molecules C, D, E, F. Moreover, the reaction rate is far higher than in inanimate matter. It is as if in biochemistry there existed selective intermolecular forces, acting only between specific pairs of molecular species within a given environmental condition which characterises a given biological cycle 10


(this environmental condition is almost always the presence of a specific enzyme). These forces must also have a wide range of action so that the reacting molecules may _ even at a great distance _ recognise and attract each other. This peculiarity of biochemistry led a lot of physicists _ Fröhlich was one of them _ to feature a role for the electromagnetic field as an agent capable of connecting molecules from a great distance. In order to preserve the unity of the organism and its homeostasis, it is important that the chemical events taking place in different parts of the organism may be instantaneously connected to each other, thus avoiding the timeconsuming mechanism of diffusive processes. An electromagnetic connection between bio-molecules therefore seems to be an attractive possibility. However, how can we account for its origin? Living matter shows another peculiarity: water is its most important constituent. In an adult body it represents 70% of its weight. However, if we consider that the mass of the water molecule is small in comparison to the much greater mass of other biomolecules, we can conclude that over 99% of all molecules in our body are molecules of water. It should be noted that to a chemist the number of molecules is more remarkable than their mass. It follows that living matter is a very diluted water solution, which however radically changes its properties because of small variations of the water amount. A loss of some litres of water is sufficient to cause dehydration symptoms. On the contrary, a very diluted water solution does not considerably change its properties if the solvent quantity varies by some per-cent units. Consequently, the role of water in living matter cannot be that of a mere solvent. It is known that for each bio-molecule there exists a specific hydration threshold under which the bio-molecule loses its nature and thus forfeits its capacity to be part of a living process. There is finally an energetic problem. If we understand the living organism in terms of a thermal motor, its performance cannot exceed Carnot’s limit, that is the ratio between the temperature variation between the extremes of the interval in which the living organism works and the absolute temperature of the warmest point. In human beings the numerator is known not to exceed a few degrees, whereas the denominator is 310° Kelvin, that is 37° C. Consequently, the yield of the hypothetical thermal motor that corresponds to the living organism does not exceed 1%: it is a rather ineffective engine. The energetic yield measured by bio-electrochemists is much higher. Bockris states that in the processes on cell membranes the energy performance amounts to 65% / 11


70%. The living organism is not a thermal motor: the energy exchanges in it cannot mainly take place in the form of heat, rather as free energy. Therefore the protagonists of the biological process cannot be the single independent molecules, but mesoscopic collectives characterised by millions of molecules acting in unison in wide regions of the space for long intervals. These collectives made Nernst’s dream come true in 1916: that molecular constituents may tune their individual oscillations in a single collective oscillation, thus transforming a chaotic crowd into a corps de ballet. In physicists’ jargon this property consisting in a in-phase set of many molecules is termed “coherence” . The number of molecules is necessarily indefinite on account of the principle of uncertainty. The mesoscopic collectives of microscopic constituents oscillating in unison are called “coherence domains”. In 1968 Fröhlich suggested that the dynamics of the living organism is based on the coherence of its molecular constituents. How can this vision be connected to the results of modern molecular biology, which managed to determine the sequence of chemical reactions that correspond to the different biological events? These results are based on experience and are basically correct. However, they must obviously be integrated into the dynamic law that governs bio-molecular motion and selects the “right” encounters, thus avoiding inappropriate connections. In the course of this process the dynamic law generates the biological purpose without resorting to improbable extrinsic “intelligent projects”. The quantum theory seems to be the most important instrument to develop this program. The first result obtained along this line is the following theorem proven by Giuliano Preparata. A set of N microscopic constituents, capable of assuming different individual configurations, enters a coherent state characterised by the common fluctuation of all constituents between the configuration of the least energy and another configuration marked by an excitation energy E, when its density exceeds a critical threshold and the temperature is below a critical value. The oscillation of the constituents is tuned with the oscillation of a coherent electromagnetic field trapped in the same coherence domain. The domain dimension equals the wavelength of the electromagnetic mode resonating with the excitation energy E of the constituents. In the coherent state the frequency of the electromagnetic mode, being necessarily the same as the frequency of the molecular oscillations, is lower than the frequency of the same mode in the vacuum. 12


As a consequence of a well- known mechanism in the quantum theory of fields, the photon mass becomes an imaginary number, in other words light loses its ability to propagate and remains trapped within the coherence domain, thus driving its coherent oscillation. In the transition from the initial non- coherent state to the coherent state the system releases energy to the thermal bath, which is only possible if the system is open. The second principle of thermodynamics is satisfied since the entropy decrease connected to the setting in of coherence entails a release of energy towards the outside. This transition from disorder to order is spontaneous in that it automatically takes place through the network of the quantum oscillations of the vacuum with the oscillations of the single microscopic constituents, as soon as density and temperature step into the right intervals. The coherent oscillations of the molecules which are in- phase with the electromagnetic field interlock with the thermal fluctuations of the molecules, which may push some members of the coherent process out of phase when their amplitude Kt is comparable to the “energy gap”, that is the difference between the energy of the coherent and non-coherent state. A competition is thus generated between the attraction produced by the coherent correlation among the constituents (the so-called “yin” in Tao Chinese philosophy, which was so dear to Fröhlich) and the disorder produced by the thermal fluctuations (the “yang” expression used in Tao Chinese philosophy). Like in Landau’s model of superfluid liquid helium, the whole ensemble of microscopic constituents falls into a coherent and a non- coherent fraction, whose relative value depends on temperature. Over a certain critical temperature, coherence disappears and the whole system becomes non- coherent. Vitiello and I analysed how coherence emerges from the interaction of the microscopic constituents with the quantum vacuum. The starting point is the property of the invariance of the Lagrangian principle system (which is the mathematical expression from which the equations of motion are derived), with respect to arbitrary variations of the oscillation phase of the matter field, that is the set of the microscopic constituents. This property accounts for the impossibility to directly observe the quantum fluctuations in space and in time. The mathematical structure of the quantum theory of the fields requires this invariance to imply the existence of “gauge fields” coupled with the matter field. Those gauge fields are capable of diluting away the fluctuations of the constituents in space and time. It is the gauge field that fills the vacuum and mutually connects the 13


microscopic constituents. Within the atom and molecule scale, the gauge field is the so called vector potential of the electromagnetic field. To implement the necessary invariance for arbitrary phase transformations of the matter field, the electromagnetic potential must be subject to a particular mathematical property, the gauge invariance. The two invariances are strictly interconnected. The conceptual scheme of the field theory shows that under Preparata’s density and temperature conditions the phase of the matter field becomes a well- defined function in space and time and the electromagnetic potential consequently “chooses” a well- defined gauge, which gives a mass to its quantum, the photon. In other words, disordered phase fluctuations are thus connected to the noncoherent electromagnetic fields. On the contrary, the appearance of correlations in the constituent phase is the consequence of a coherent electromagnetic potential. These correlations are kept up by a messenger that spreads within the coherence domain with the phase speed which is known to be free to exceed light speed and does not have a superior limit. For this reason within the coherence domain synchronic events may take place; physics can thus meet Jung’s requirement as stated in his dialogue with Pauli. The appearance of coherence sheds a new light on the relations between the vacuum and the microscopic constituents of matter as Nernst outlined in 1916. The material system is disordered, we could even say “gaseous” (the expression “gas” is indeed the contraction of the word “chaos”) when the gauge field _ that is the dynamic element of the vacuum _ is not coherent. The coherence of the vacuum translates into the coherence of matter. This conclusion allows a connection between quantum physics and the results reached by ecology, psychodynamics and by social sciences in which individual behaviour is governed by superindividual dynamic structures capable of evolving in time and of shaping history. On the one hand, the Lagrangian motion equations are reversible in time and they do not account for the appearance of a time arrow. On the other hand, the dynamic evolution of the quantum vacuum is irreversible, it breaks up the symmetry of the Lagrangian and introduces history in nature. On the basis of these acquisitions on coherence some light has been shed on the properties of non- gaseous matter, of condensed matter (liquids and solids) including the dynamic mechanism of phase transitions, that are the discontinuous mutations in the aggregation state of matter, which take place in certain termodynamic conditions. In order to understand living matter, it is important to consider the case of liquid water. The coherence theorem shows that in a liquid state, water molecules produce

coherence domains whose size amounts to one tenth of a micron and in which molecules fluctuate between their configuration of least energy, in which electrons are strongly bound, and a configuration where an electron is very weakly bound, where indeed it is almost free. This property attaches great importance to liquid water. As a matter of fact, coherent water can be an electron donor, which means that water is a chemically reducing species. On the contrary, non- coherent water cannot donate electrons, it may only receive them, which makes it a chemically oxidant species. When it is possible to separate the coherent fraction from the non- coherent one, as happens to the interface with hydrophilous surfaces, a redox battery is produced whose power may reach the volt. The quasi-free electron plasma in the coherence domain of water may be excited by producing cold vortices since the electrons make up a coherent system and consequently their excitation, below the threshold indicated by the “energy gap”, is a collective one. The cold vortices cannot undergo a thermal decay so that the average life of these excited levels of the coherence domain can last long. The only possibility of a decay of these excited states is that of a chemical decay in which the excitation energy of the coherence domain, which takes the form of an excited way of the electromagnetic field trapped in the coherence domain, is resonatingly transmitted to a specific molecule capable of oscillating on the same frequency of the excited way. The following situation is thus looming: the coherence domain of water gathers any kind of energy from the environment, ranging from thermal noise to sunlight, incorporates and stores it as coherent electromagnetic energy. The sum of the next excitations is made possible by the length of the average lives of the excited levels of the coherence domains and by the presence of the earth’s magnetic field which lines up the axes of the cold vortices of the electrons. When the stored energy corresponds to a frequency of the electromagnetic field resonating with the oscillation frequency of specific molecules, the latter are attracted and chemically activated by the release of the excitement energy. Water thus becomes the most important enzyme, as Vladimir Voeikov, a Russian biologist, pointed out. The coherence domains of water may thus have an internal structure of coherent configurations, and as Preparata’s theorem shows, they can produce a coherent set of coherence domains, a kind of second-degree super-coherence, which is in line for the role of organiser of living matter. Such super-coherence would be that “vital force” which such pioneers as Driesch, Gurwitsch, Fröhlich, Popp, and others have dreamt of and which the superficial mechanistic paradigm had so far confined within the irrational. the irrational not be the main investigation field of the followers of the goddess Reason, whose saying is:” Damn, I will explain you!”? Unfortunately, the irrational prejudice sometimes blinds exactly the followers of reason, to whom the name “goddess” is dearer than the name “Reason”. Along this path, we have come to face some fascinating phenomena over the last few years: not only the origin of life, also the cold fusion of atomic nuclei. In this research I made new friends and accomplices in “scientific crimes”, such as Martin Fleischmann and Antonella de Ninno, who are involved not only in the cold fusion project, also in the whole coherence program where other pioneers such as Fritz Popp, Vladimir Voeikov, Larissa Brizhik and many others are at work. These concepts often come up against the inability of minds trained by absolute specialization to detect the “unexpected connections” between apparently unrelated facts which Poincare describes as the basis of scientific progress. There is a Chinese proverb which goes: “Those who climb down a well in order to see the sky, cannot see much!” The acquisition of the title of “expert”, which is an essential qualification within the scientific community, requires climbing down a deep well. The new knowledge has to cope with many problems posed by the established scientific world. The only answer we can give is what Prometheus said to Hermes, Zeus’s messenger: “I swear I would never change my miserable fate with your slavery. I deem it a far better lot to be chained to this rock than be Jupiter’s faithful messenger”.

Therapeutic Evaluation of SOQI (Solar Energy) Utilizing Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV). N. Kostyuk, W.K. Ayensu, R.D. Isokpehi and H.P. Cohly

Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi 39217-0001, USA email:hari.cohly@jsums.edu Thermal therapy has been reported as a treatment that improves sympathetic nervous system, neurohormonal factors, cardiac function, hemodynamics, ventricular arrhythmias, vascular endothelial function and symptoms in patients with chronic heart failure (1). It has been shown that repeated thermal therapy involves increased expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (1). Experiments using ischemia mouse model demonstrated that repeated thermal therapy up-regulates endothelial nitric oxide and augments angiogenesis (2).SOQI approach to health care includes several modalities that may be used concomitantly for better improvement in health status. A combination of thermal far infrared therapy and chi machine oscillatory vibration achieves this objective. Thermal far infrared irradiation (IR-C) has wavelength from 3µm to 1mm which is not harmful to humans as stated by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (3). The far infrared output of human organism is approximately from 6µm to 50µm, 9.4µm being the most common. Given that the most beneficial range of FIR irradiation is from 8µm to 14µm, one can speculate that the resonance absorption based on the similarity of FIR wavelength is the aspect that contributes to the healing properties of FIR. Reports have demonstrated that FIR reduces swelling and inflammation, pain, soreness, improves cardiovascular function, activates metabolic activity and strengthens immune system (4; 5). Health management with Chi machine in combination with FIR enhances the oxygen supply to the tissues and organs (6; 7). The transfer of mechanical oscillatory vibrations from the swinging platform of chi machine to humans involves muscle stretch reflex capable of adjusting the body function through reinforced circulatory adjustments. FIRinduced increased blood flow from mechanical oscillations and vibrations of chi machine improves vessel dilations and enhances the delivery of oxygen to the tissues and organs (6). This process may be aided by vasoreleases such as heat shock proteins in the course of the exercise in regulating nitric oxide levels and its duration in the tissues (7).

The biometric method based on GDV is an alternative method of a complex evaluation of the functional state of an individual. It has been utilized in medical practices, in psychology, sports and cognitive studies for momentary assessments of psychoemotional and physiological states of individuals or groups of individuals over a period of time (8). The GDV-based biometric device measures the electro-photonic emission around human fingertips and interprets the data on the basis of acupuncture class profiles originally developed by Mandel with detail elaborations by Korotkov (8) afterward. Strategic body spots employed in acupuncture therapeutic studies are associated with biophysical characteristics different from other parts of the body; these parts

have

minimal electric resistance (9), higher temperature and far infrared irradiation emission, and higher oxygen absorption properties (9;10). In health, acupuncture points manifest no significant electrical activity; but in disease states the electrical activities are significantly enhanced (10) in accordance with rhythmic circadian profile. The increased electrical activities are associated with alterations in the electro-photonic emissions measured from the distal parts of the body. In this study the biometric method was employed to detect alterations associated with defects in homeostatic functions of individuals through measurements of FIR and variations seen in mechanical oscillating vibrations. It is our hypothesis that a beneficial outcome results from therapy using FIR and mechanical oscillating vibrations through changes in bio-responses. Experimental Design Equipment: Far infrared irradiant dome (irradiation length 10 microns) and chi machine (frequency 60Hz) (Fig.1), biometric device based on GDV technique shown in Fig. 2 has software provision with electro-photonic impulse readout for different acupuncture regions associated with specific organ systems interpreted according to acupuncture fingertips classification Korotkov (8). Duration: Two participants were exposed to FIR and mechanical vibration simultaneously for 30 minutes (15 minutes prone position and 15 minutes supine position); biometric readouts were measured before and after applications. Participants: Selected participants for the study were a 52 year old male and a 34 year old female both with apparent functional deviations from normal range (values above [-0.5-1]) according to the biometric analysis done before the treatment with FIR and chi machine. Male participant was a patient with hormonal imbalance (diagnosed with

hypothyroid function TSH level >5.0) and female was a healthy individual complaining about abdominal pain due to menstrual cycle. The procedure employed was thoroughly explained to the individuals according to IRB regulations by emphasizing that the technique was absolutely non-invasive and therefore harmless. Two sets of pictures of electro-photonic emission of fingertips were taken before and after the SOQI treatment with and without a filter. The filter, a thin plastic film is applied on the surface of the electrode to prevent direct contact of the electrode with the skin.

Because of the set-up of the experiment it was absolutely necessary to

differentiate between ANS, sympathetic and parasympathetic; this allows for comparison between psycho-emotional and physiological states at the onset and after the procedure by the cross correlation analysis of the captures with and without filter.

Results The results of our study showed that FIR irradiation and mechanical oscillatory vibration had stabilizing outcome on the individuals tested as shown by the collected readings from the biometric device. The individuals with the initial normal functional state

of psycho-emotional level, but abnormal physiological status showed changes in parameters after the therapy. Table 1 shows the results of the biometric testing of the individual with hormonal imbalance (diagnosed with hypothyroid function TSH level >5.0) before and after far infrared treatment accompanied by the simultaneous mechanical vibration. Before treatment high activity measurements were demonstrated by acupuncture points associated to the following organ systems: right eye, right ear, nose, maxillary sinus, throat, larynx, trachea, thyroid gland, jaw, teeth left side, left ear, left eye, hypophysis, thyroid gland, pancreas, adrenal gland, urino-genital system, spleen, nervous system, hypothalamus, duodenum, ileum, right kidney, heart and jejunum (Table 1). After individuals undergo the therapeutic process the acupuncture points associated to some organs (throat, larynx, trachea, thyroid gland, jaw, teeth left side, left ear, nose and maxillary sinus) showed reduced high activity as compared to the initial state before treatment. The rest of the individual parameters were in the normal range after treatment [from -0.5 to 1]. The fields in Table 1 marked by dark grey color indicate high activity of the acupuncture regions on human fingertips. Light grey color indicates the range of norm. Table 1. High activity above the range [-0.5-1.0] was demonstrated before treatment by acupuncture points associated to cervical zone, thorax zone, lumbar zone, sacrum, coccyx, pelvis minor zone, ascending colon, duodenum, ileum and mammary glands, respiratory system. After undergoing FIR therapy and chi machine all the parameters returned to normal range as indicated by the biometric device based on GDV technique.

Discussion The biometric method based on GDV technique has been reported as an alternative procedure to analyze physiological as well as psycho-emotional status of individuals in real time (8). This instrument has uses in sports medicine, fatigue, stress and anxiety studies, rural medicine applications, clinical psychology, post surgery recovery, correct choice of medication and preventive health care services (11;12). The accuracy of the biometric method is between 86% and 89% and therefore, we used it for the detection of changes in physiological states of humans before and after external stimuli such as SOQI treatment which is using concomitantly FIR thermal therapy and mechanical oscillatory vibration. Exposure to FIR irradiation thermal interaction induces the changes on bio-chemical level and thus, causes influence on the vital functions of the organism (13). A number of

ongoing clinical trials investigate the possible application of FIR treatment in various disease states such as uterine fibroids, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, osteoarthritis, bipolar condition, dementia, prostate cancer, diabetes, hyperparathyroidism, cancer, sciatica, erectile dysfunction, stroke rehabilitation, multiple sclerosis, AIDs and others (14). For example, the influence of FIR has been investigated previously and has been shown to improve chronic fatigue syndrome and vascular endothelial inflammation (13;15;16;). In Japan FIR therapy is called waon therapy or FIR sauna. It is believed that the repeated FIR therapy in combination with physical exercise can balance the physiological functional state of an individual (5). Thus, the patients with pulmonary hypertension who were exposed to FIR during exercise and were previously diagnosed with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease improved right ventricular positive dP/dT, pulmonary hypertension and increased exercise tolerance (17). The stable effect of FIR therapy has been reported after ten sessions in fibromyalgia treatment (18). It has been confirmed by echocardiography that left ventricular diastolic dimension, left atrial dimension, and ejection fraction significantly improved after the FIR therapy and therefore this method was recognized safe, innovative and promising non-pharmacological treatment for the group of patients with congestive heart failure (19;20). The clinical effects of FIR regarding the patients suffering from allergic rhinitis show improvements of the symptoms of eye itching, nasal itching, nasal stuffiness, rhinorrhea and sneezing (21). The FIR treatment has been shown to be beneficial at the cellular level. FIR caused inhibiting effects to five cancer cell lines: A431 (vulva), HSC3 (tongue), Sa3 (gingiva), A549 (lung), and MCF7 (breast) (22). The investigation of pain management using FIR within two groups of patients with chronic pain has demonstrated 77% improvement in FIR treatment group and 50% in control group (23). Further, it has been shown that FIR treatment of acupuncture points decreases lipid peroxidation products in the serum after treatment (21). The concomitant use of mechanical oscillatory vibration with FIR therapy enriches the muscular tissue and organs with oxygen. Mechanical oscillatory vibration is provided by the swinging motion of chi machine. Swinging motion has been previously reported in the literature as a directed action that can influence the higher order cognitive processing (24). Rhythmic movement can be successfully employed into rehabilitation practice (25). Chi machine effectively helps an individual to passively exercise and thus, simultaneously with far infrared treatment, achieve dynamic supplement of oxygen. The horizontal

position of an individual during the treatment decreases the muscle tension and hip joint movement helps strengthening of extensor muscles (26). The biomechanics of swinging movement proved to be helpful in sportsmen treatment, mainly golfers with golf-related back pain (27). The small movements of the spine mobilize the segments involved in horizontal movement and therefore eliminate articular hypomobilities (28). Our pilot study of simultaneous influence of FIR and mechanical oscillatory vibration (SOQI) using the biometric method based on GDV showed that FIR had stabilizing effect on tested individuals. The individual with functional hormonal imbalance on the physiological level and low metabolic rate have shown improvement after exposure to FIR and mechanical oscillatory vibration as shown in Table 2.

The female participant

demonstrated positive change in the individual values; all the parameters which were showing deviation from the norm before the SOQI treatment recovered. Thus, SOQI treatment which consists of two concomitantly used modules (FIR and mechanical oscillatory vibration), has positive stabilizing influence on humans The data obtained from the biometric device were confirmed by the testimonies of the participants about the general improvement of their functional state. Conclusion The biometric method based on GDV has demonstrated that the initial functional parameters of acupuncture points associated with specific body systems which were deviated from the norm before the SOQI (FIR and mechanical oscillatory vibration) treatment improved after the exposure of the individuals to SOQI. The stabilizing influence of SOQI treatment, as shown by the biometric method based on GDV, requires further research involving larger sample size of individuals with and without the homeostatic deviations.

Experimental data were collected during 14 months with different EPC/GDV instruments, by different researchers, and in different parts of the world. All these data are quite consistent and have very similar type of variations. Nine people took part in the workshop (1 woman and 8 men, age 18 – 41). All participants had no idea about Reconnection Healing before.

This membrane (or filter) is placed on the surface of glass electrode where we place fingers. This allows to avoid the influence of skin perspiration to the discharge development. For 1 person EF increased, for 2 people decreased, while we need to mention slight increase of somatic EF for 2 people (green bars). As we see from the graphs for 7 people EF increased and for 3 people it was practically no changes. Amsterdam, Holland, November 12 – 17, 2009 Measurements protocol Three types of GDV/EPC measurements has been established during the seminar: 1. Influence of attending the practical seminar. 2. Influence of reconnective healing session. 3. Influence of selfhealing session on advanced practitioners. Participants of the workshop 40 people (27 women and 13 men, age from 18 to 61) from the participants of the practical seminar took part in GDV/EPC measurements. They were asked to come for EPC screening before the seminar (12-13 November) and then after the seminar (16-17 November). So each person has two captures made with filter and without filter. Participants of this type of EPC measurements were coming for screening all day long (with 15 minutes interval). Reconnective healing session 12 people (7 women and 7 men, age from 21 to 43) took part in this type of EPC measurements. They were measured before the reconnective healing session and right after it. This research was made in the evening at 9-11 pm, November12. Selfhealing session of advanced practitioners 13 advanced practitioners (7 women and 6 men, age from 21 to 53) took part in this type of measurements. They were measured right before the selfhealing session and right after it before the dinner November 16. Data processing Two types of data processing for these types of measurements were applied: 1. Processing in GDV/EPC software – “GDV Energy Field”. 2. Advanced processing of all data in special software “GDV Scientific laboratory”. Summary Participants of the workshop (40 people) We should notice that almost all people that took part in this type of measurements were very tired at the first screening (before the seminar) and at the second (after the seminar) too. Their tiredness before the seminar during EPC capture can be explained by the fact that they appeared right from airplanes or after a long ride by car. After the seminar they were tired 32


because seminar ended very late each day during weekend, so participants didn’t have enough sleep. That is why we can’t see statistically significant difference in their physiological or psychoemotional state. Most of participants demonstrated non-significant changes in psycho-emotional state (below 10% deviation - natural fluctuation of human state) 16 from 40 people showed overall harmonization of their state – decrease in Form coefficient. 13 people showed increase in Form coefficient) and almost no shift in Area (2 positive and 1 negative) and Average intensity (100% of participants demonstrated no shift).. Big shifts in this parameter can be explained by the influence of reconnection frequencies. Decrease means calming down of psycho-emotional state and harmonization, and big increase means excitation that can be explained as activation of some processes in the human body. If we take into consideration the absence of significant shifts in Area and Average intensity of energy field we may attribute shifts in Form Coefficient to the redistribution of energy. Reconnective healing session (12 people) On physiological level participants didn’t show any changes in their state (100% of participants). We know that physiological state doesn’t change fast and during the time of healing session (less than 1 hour) no significant changes took place. On psycho-emotional level we can see shift in Form coefficient parameter for 9 from 12 (75%) of participants. And no significant changes in other parameters. This shift is connected, as we have mentioned earlier, with overall harmonization of human energy field. Selfhealing session of advanced practitioners (13 people) We should take into consideration that advanced practitioners were also very tired after a very difficult weekend and a lack of sleep. But anyway there were shifts in Form coefficient for 7 people on psycho-emotional level and for 6 people on physiological level. From the other hand big difference of these results from results of US workshops may be an indication of different attitude to the training process between European and American population. This topic needs more detailed study. Conclusion We may conclude that reconnective healing sessions in Amsterdam resulted in changes of human energy field: harmonization and redistribution of human energy. Data processing in "GDV Energy Field” program Data for this type of study was processed in “GDV Energy Field” program and assessed in Microsoft Office Excel program. On diagrams average values for the group are presented. 33

Area is associated with the power of EF, so increase in Area we may be considered as positive outcome of the session. Form Coefficient (FC) is the measure of harmonization of EF, so decrease in Form Coefficient may be considered as positive outcome of the session. We can make several mail conclusions from these data: 1. Two types of positive effects for participants during Reconnection Healing sessions were recorded: increase in Area and decrease in FC. In most cases either one effect or another was recorded. 36


2. At some sessions Area of EF was increasing for most of the participants (St Petersburg and LA 2009); while in LA 2008 session it was practically no changes of Area, but very significant changes of the Form Coefficient. 3. Abovementioned effects may be related to different modalities of the Reconnection Healing, conveyed by different trainers. 4. No difference between women and men responses was found. 5. Results strongly depend on the trainer: strong effects were recorded at some sessions, and practically no effects at the other. 6. Response to Reconnection Healing is very individual and may depend on the initial condition of a person: the level of stress, tiredness, psycho-physiological condition. 7. Very little changes of somatic EF (with membrane – filter) was found. So we may conclude that Reconnection Healing had no negative effects to physiological conditions. From our experience we know that positive effects may be expected after several days after the session. 8. For European population strong effects of EF harmonization were found, but we do not know to which factors this may be attributed. 9. More experiments are needed with detailed control of all factors.

RECONNECTIVE HEALING EXPERIMENTS PART II KOROTKOV K, DE VITO D., PEARL E., MADAPPA K., ORLOV D. DATA OF ELECTROPHOTONIC SENSOR Two types of Electrophotonic Sensors were being used during the conference: antenna type and “Sputnik” type. Antenna sensor was operated from computer and powered from wall outlet, while “Sputnik” sensor ran on battery in automatic mode without connection to the computer. Information was recorded on a memory steak. After finishing recording information was processed in “Scientific Lab” program (producer KTI Co, St. Petersburg, Russia). All the experiments were conducted in double-blind regime. In these sessions two types of devices were used: 1. “GDV Compact” EPC camera with standard antenna type sensor. 2. “GDV Eco-Tester” with “Sputnik” type sensor. November 13 (fig. 1 and 2)

As we see from the graphs, most of significant moments in different days of the sessions were reflected on the graphs. This may be presented as increase of parameters or separate peaks. 15/11 after presentation of Dough and Erick reaction to exercises was in decreasing of Intensity graph (area 6). We may conclude that after long session people were tired and subsequent break was reflected as increase in parameters. Strong shifts on the presented diagrams were connected with presence or absence of people in the room (during lunch or break). Because of very huge room all the influences were very weak and sensors registered influences, but shifts (connected with reconnective healing exercises) were small in comparison with previous measurements. For example, only Eco-tester has registered the 43


appearance of Eric Pearl on the stage on Friday evening 13/11 – shift in Average intensity parameter (19:48) was registered. DISCUSSION We had 13 sessions with Electrophotonic Sensor at the Reconnection events: 6 during conferences and 7 during workshops. At all sessions Sensor responded to significant events in the room, in most cases during presentations of Erick or Dough. At the same time behavior of the graphs was different in different sessions. We may define the following moments: 1. Area graphs had both ascending and descending response. We pay attention that numbers at the graphs are different due to using sensor elements of different construction. Finely the most sensitive “Sputnik” sensor was developed. 2. (Table 7).

Area variations have been changing from 11% to 100% in different sessions

3. Recording lasted from 1h40 to 10h30. The level of variations did not depend on the length of a session. 4.

During the conferences only some presenters stimulated the reaction of the

sensor. 5. Control recordings in the laboratory without presence of people demonstrated variations of Area and Intensity at the level 3-7% without any specific moments (see examples below at fig.29). 6. Measurements in Amsterdam (11-2009) demonstrated less variations of a signal compared with measurements in the USA. The reason may be very big size of the auditorium where workshops took place. 7. Measurements taken with two independed sensors in parallel demonstrated very high consistency in recording significant events during workshop: 11/13/2009 Decrease of Area in segment 1 of both graphs; Increase of Area in the beginning of segment 4 of both graphs. 11/14/2009 Similar type of Area curves in segments 2 and 3 of both graphs; Increase of Area in segments 5-6 of both graphs; Increase of Intensity in segment 5 and 6 of both graphs. 11/15/2009 Increase of Area in segment 7 of both graphs; Increase of Intensity in segments 3, 4 and 7 of both graphs.

All abovementioned features demonstrate that recorded variations of a Sensor signal was not just random, but were related to events in the room. They may be related both to the activity of the presenter and to the reaction of the audience. From all the data we can make the conclusion that during sessions of Reconnection Healing structurization of a space in the auditorium takes place. The physical background of this effect needs attention and further investigation.

(5) bottles of Arrow Head, a commercial drinking water was placed in the 4 corners of the room & the 5 was by the table adjoining the podium, which was placed in the middle of th

room from where Doug would be conveying to the attendees. Bottle classification: C1, C2, C3, C4, & S5. 2. Room layout: Chairs for seating 100+, arranged as an arc, podium in middle & massage tables on the other side of podium. 3. (5) Control bottles for study was placed behind the front desk of the resort. Purpose of Study: To observe at the response of each days events from all the stations where the bottles were positioned. C1-By research table; C2 -MTB corner; C3 - Next MTB corner; C4 – RC info + educational corner; S5 – Stage/Podium table. Data Capturing sequence: All data capturing was done at the end of each days session from C1-C4 & S5. Data was captured with EPC Pro – 30 FPS – 5 sec duration. Each RCP would have a 10 min RCH session on a bottle & data was captured w EPC Pro. 8 participants whose initials are indicated are: D; K;; SA; J; M; P; S. As we see from the graphs fig.2, all RCP had produced significant effects on water. The strongest effects were demonstrated by Doug, Kevin, Judaline and Sabrina. As people are 70% liquids, this gives us idea of the mechanism of influence to people.

DISCUSSION In both modes of water study we may see statistically significant reaction of water to the process of Reconnection Healing. In the first mode bottles were standing in the seminar room for a day and influence was lasting for a long time. At the same time we see that not all the water responded to the influence. This fact and comparing with a control water having no changes indicate that water have been structured under the influence of Reconnection Healing process. We may assume that structurization of space has non-uniform character in the room. Significant structurization of water took place under the influence of directed Reconnection Healing by the trainers. Effect was different for different people which may be related to different modalities of their influence. This was a pilot study initiated by Doug DeVito to observe if there are measurable patterns that can be observed. This type of experiments should be repeated.

CONCLUSIONS We have observed experimental data collected during 14 months with different EPC/GDV instruments, by different researchers, and in different parts of the world. All these data are quite consistent and have very similar type of variations. They all suggest that in the process of Reconnection Healing structurization of space in the auditorium takes place. People may have different response to this process, and this response may take long time. We expect that Reconnection Healing starts harmonization of the energetic processes in the body, and depending on initial conditions this process may take different time and have different outcome. Long-term observations of participants conditions with collecting data on the Quality of Life and wide spectrum of physiological parameters would be strongly recommended. Sensor data undoubtly demonstrate that Reconnection Healing have strong positive environmental effects which may be expected extend much broader than the range of the auditorium. It is important to compare effects of Reconnection Healing by individuals or by a group of experienced people. Water experiments demonstrated that water change its properties under the influence of Reconnection Healing both in the case of directed attention and with bottles standing in the room. Control experiments had no effects at all. We keep in mind that human body is 70-80 % water, so it may tell us about mechanisms of Reconnection Healing influence to the body physiology. More experiments should be conducted to support presented suggestions.

COMPARISON OF GDV ANALYSIS TO KIRLIAN PHOTOGRAPHY AS USED IN COLORPUNCTURE Mary Milroy BSIE, Dipl. Esogetic Medicine, Acupuncture & Chinese Herbology The powerful healing modality of Colorpuncture (color light therapy) is discussed in its effect on the human consciousness. The author discusses the theory and methodology of Colorpuncture from a body, mind, and spirit healing perspective, and the use of the GDV camera, and its predecessor, the Mandel Kirlian camera, which developed prior to the GDV camera, as the primary diagnostic tool for Colorpuncture. The Mandel Kirlian camera is an analog device, which captures emissions of the fingers and toes on black and white photo paper. The photos are analyzed subjectively in the mind, body and spirit planes by a trained practitioner, as opposed to the detailed objective analysis provided by the GDV software. Comparisons of a patient case study using both camera diagnostics are evaluated and discussed. The main conclusion is that we witness the informational evolution of the kirlian diagnostic process, which provides the ability to better evaluate the human emotional state. This process contributes greater clarity in diagnosing and understanding human psycho-spiritual energy, as the GDV assessment programs are further refined. Background (A) Colorpuncture Colorpuncture is a very powerful vibrational medicine therapy developed by the renowned German scientist and naturopath, Peter Mandel, over 30 years ago. The system uses Energy Emission Analysis (or EEA) Kirlian photography as the primary diagnostic method. The fingertips and toe tips, which reflect the energy at the origins of the acupuncture channels, are photographed in black and white on a single sheet of photo paper, and a comparative analysis performed. Other methods of diagnosis are also utilized, including tongue diagnosis, facial physiognomy, iridology, and hand analysis. Energy Emission Analysis combined with Colorpuncture theory and treatment provide a wholistic healing system, which encompasses the body, mind and spirit of the human energy field. A treatment protocol is determined after evaluating the EEA, and light energy is applied via an LED penlight to the skin at specific acupuncture points, and other reflex zones. Light is pure information which balances incoherent cellular information when it is applied to the skin. When cells are out of balance their increased emission of photons eventually disrupts healthy bio-communications resulting in pathologies. Kirlian photos are taken throughout the course of 50


treatment to measure the efficacy of the treatment, as well as to develop ongoing treatment plans. (B) Energy Emission Analysis (EEA): The Kirlian photo or EEA topography holds the premise that all signs and sectors of a photo are connected to each other and represent wholeness in their concert of individual information. The Kirlian photo shows what becomes of our genetic possibility in this life. Further, it shows what is currently influencing our life now. By means of high frequency current, this photographic technique records the electromagnetic emission or corona discharge of patients with precision. According to the shape, location and intensity of the emissions, the experienced Kirlian photographer can analyze the energy condition of the patient and gain valuable information concerning the reactive potential of the system as a whole.

Methodology of Energy Emission Analysis (EEA) Assessment

The methodology of Colorpuncture was derived from the development of the EEA, as a powerful way to produce changes in the Kirlian photographs as well as cellular changes in the subject. The theory is based on the assignment of subjects and their energy emissions into three groups or “pots” of energy: Endocrine, Toxic & Degenerative, which allows conclusions to be drawn regarding the present energy state of the subject. Functional illnesses begin in the Endocrine pot; reactive, aggressive illnesses manifest in the Toxic pot; and chronic and systemic pathologies occur in the Degenerative pot. Each of the three pots maintains distinct energetic emission qualities, as well as aspects of body, mind and spirit. The 12 Disease Principles, which further characterize the energetic state, were derived from considering the four elemental qualities (earth, air, fire, and water) within those three pots. Further, an astrological sun sign is represented on each of the fingers as well as two toes and provides a deeper level of Kirlian reading in the psycho-spiritual realm. Fourth quadrant flattening is seen on all fingers (birth rhythm), and there is coning on the bottoms of the ring, middle, and index fingers (signals territorial issues and amygdala stress) with stress rings on the tops. The LU/LI sectors are endocrine on both thumbs, with retromolar clouds on thumbs. Starting at birth, this indicates prenatal stress related to the mother causing childhood fears that weakened the immune system and disturbed the connection to the belly brain. The patient was thrown off center at age 9 and is unable to stay centered in relation to the outside world. Puberty provided conflicts around childhood sexuality and the vertical and horizontal axes there indicate prenatal & territorial issues, as well as disturbances in the oral/anal phase. The right thumb shows the sexual imbalance of the head versus the pelvis. In the present day, the patient does not listen to his belly brain (gut), has sexual performance issues related to the head, as opposed to his sex organs, and is stubborn and self-driven, and doesn’t listen to his heart. Further, the immune system issues are present. Spiritual Axes: The Sun’s vitality is represented in the birth finger where the issues began (left little finger). The left pointer finger, which has the symbol of morning Venus (age 9), shows issues around developing his own individuality and finding acceptable limits for himself. The Chakra photo readings of left brain laterality indicate that the patient is more introverted and less expressive, still needing to be able to overcome his basic fears (root chakra); express himself (throat chakra); and to trust his intuition (crown chakra). Summary: Through the evolution of Kirlian photography darkroom, analog pictures have made great strides in the past fifteen years. The GDV camera certainly provides a far superior method for objective analysis of the human energy field. All areas of significance that were revealed through the EEA were also validated in reading the GDV. However, the EEA methodology of including the feet in the photography in order to compare upper to lower, left to right, and observe minute details of the finger axes provides a greater comprehensive view of the human psyche. Unfortunately, this method of reading photos requires years of study to become truly proficient, and can be somewhat subjective. Ultimately, these diagnostic details can be applied to the GDV analysis, and further, with the use of a footplate, this intricate system of analysis can be provided to GDV users in the future.

DIRECT RECEPTIVITY OF INFORMATION AS THE NEW LEVEL OF HUMAN CONSCIOUSNESS Komissarov M. From as far back as the ancient times, people were aware of concepts such as Clairvoyance on a nationwide scale. However, this has always been so merely by the trade of sheer phenomena, the abilities of which were from time to time demonstrated by a select few “psychics”. Since the end of the ‘90’s of our twentieth century, this concept proceeded to become considerably more widespread. Vyacheslav Bronnikov and Nikolai Denisov are two very prime examples of individuals who take upon the task of making a Clairvoyant out of any willing individual, irregardless of their naturally inborn, instinctive skills. Both of them have created and practically applied their own teaching methods and respectively, each has his own views on the nature of the phenomenon. Alas, fact remains to be the fact: many people, having undergone the training offered at either of their schools, emerged enlightened upon having discovered an ability of clairvoyance. The ability to willingly access --- without the use of our familiar sensory organs --- direct reception of information from within, began to interest me in the year 2000. That, too, was when I had first officially come forth with the hypothesis about the existence of a Center of Informational Perception (CIP) within the human brain, capable of the said direct reception. In USA, New York, I had organized a school for the activation of this unusual ability. By the means of an intricately developed and copyrighted method, this facility taught in classes to anyone who was interested, independent of gender or age. The ages of students who have attended my courses range between 3 and 70 years. Ten years of running this school has shown practically the human brain’s ability of a particularly direct informational perception. This is expressed most clearly by children up to twelve years old. Wearing a firm blindfold, my younger students learned to exist in their surrounding environment just as easily as one would have done with both eyes open. They read, wrote, played ball, rode on bicycles and rollerblades. That is to say, they freely demonstrated the brain’s ability to receive visual information from within, without the use of visual organs. Adult students exhibited even more fascinating abilities of the sort. Olga L. (46 yrs.) was able to, without fail, name what was located inside a closed suitcase, “see” the past (naming objects that were lying on the table five minutes ago), reading information off of a disk without inserting it into the computer (text and photos). Katie B. (14 yrs.) viewed clips of film simply 61


by holding the cassette in her hands. Marina M. (23 yrs.), while in Moscow, read newspaper article titles lying on a table on in New York. All of this adds up as sufficient proof of the reality of the brain’s capability in direct informational perception. In the present time, European scientists and researchers in Moscow and St. Petersburg are working on further scientific evidence of this phenomenon. Nonetheless, I would like to discuss another aspect of direct informational reception. Why is humanity’s need for additional, previously unutilized functions of the brain starting to surface now? What triggers this? Is the ability to directly receive information a matter of whim, or rather an inevitably necessary aspect of life? In explaining to the listeners of my seminars the purpose of informational reception, I refer to an analogy between the CIP and the function of speech. Many functions are in attendance in the maintenance of the human brain. Those like hearing and vision switch on automatically upon our arrival on Earth, though others --- do not. We all are born with a center of speech in our brain, but if one does not verbally communicate with a child and the center is never developed, the person is likely to leave this life mute. And the parents, from as early as the first few days of the infant’s existence begin to activate its function of speech. They constantly talk to the baby, motivating and encouraging him to understand them and reply to their questions. With time, the child begins to noticeably react. At first he uses only syllables, a portion of a word, then; builds simple phrases, and finally, learns to speak. Stop for a second and consider: why did the human being ever begin to talk? For the expression of a need or desire, he would mainly use 3 – 4 sound signals identified by himself, as well as several other gestures. Though at the time, such an intraspecific means of communication was fit to suffice. The level of crucial necessity for the exchange of information was quite low. But, time moved on. The neo human was developing, gradually transforming into human. And, by rate of development, the necessity of the exchange of more complex information continued growing exponentially. Simple sounds and gestures ceased to be enough. And so began the search for a channel/center capable of transferring an even more complex informational signal. Conveniently, that was when the previously unutilized center of speech began to activate in the human brain. The time has come. The changed world has forced it to do so. 62


The very same is now happening with the CIP. Similarly, it was present in the human brain, but was not yet an active function due to lack of necessity. Now, the time has arrived. After all, since the introduction of the human to the planet, the world has become undeniably more complicated. The basic selection of the five sensory organs of perception is no longer satisfactory to sufficiency. With but their help alone, the person just isn’t able to keep up with the constantly changing situation. His sensory organs cannot as well square with their number one point and purpose --- a timely delivery of reliable information in terms of our external world to the brain. This deficit in human perception of information occurs because more and more, he is becoming dependant on events happening straight out of the reach of his sensory organs. In earlier times, in order to save yourself from the claws of a hungry predator, it would do to spot him from a distance of 500 – 700 meters, or to hear it or smell it from 300 meters away. You saw it, you heard it, and you smelt it --- now run and your life will be saved. Today, this situation has changed considerably. Let’s say, for example, that some 20 kilometers away from us, an accident has occurred in a chemical factory and a deadly cloud of gas is rapidly headed our way. Our eyes would not be able to pinpoint this accident, nor would our senses of smell and hearing. No one has conveniently warned us of this upcoming predicament; I must say I do not envy our situation. For when this cloud finally does reach us, unfortunately, it will be too late to save anything. To avoid this type of happenstance, humanity is in need of the activation of an extra sense --- activation, not acquirement. And the quantity of information traveling to the brain via the traditional sensory organs of the human no longer satisfy this --- to learn something new, we need to read a lengthy volume or to listen to a series of lectures. Can you imagine how much time is consumed just by doing one or the other? What if… people were able to receive this new information directly, without having to read or to hear --- without a written or verbal transcendence of the material? The quantity of received information and the rate at which it is received would multiply by several tens of times! This becomes, for the human, inevitably necessary for the sake of survival itself. The time has come. The changing world forces it to do so--- hence the self sufficient activation of CIP within the human brain. Just like, in its own time, the activation of the center of speech. The scientific research performed in both the USA and Russia shows direct correlation of the activation of CIP in all children and the increase in frequency of their alpha biorhythms. It 63


reaches the frequency of 10 – 11 hertz, which is equivalent to the average frequency of the same biorhythms in the brain of an adult. Indirectly, this indicator characterizes the ability of the human brain to accept and process information. The higher the frequency of the alpha biorhythm, the larger the volume of information the brain is able to absorb and sort through in a lot less time. As it turns out, a child is capable of perceiving and analyzing information from the inner world on the level of an adult, all the while retaining all of one’s childlike derelictions. This makes a most prominent appearance in kids that are in some way behind in development. Twelve year old Nadya K. from Moscow, witnessed by her mother, was unable to memorize short poems, convert centimeters to inches or inches to meters, and made 15 – 20 grammatical mistakes in but one page of writing. The girl was already getting left back in the same class for a second year. On top of this Nadya studied very hard from dawn to dusk, and was still unable to accomplish much of anything. Teachers gave her Cs and lots of sympathy, just to keep her moving from class to class. After the activation of CIP, things turned completely around in Nadya’s life. Her educational struggle ceased to be: she memorized poems of whatever length, gone were her troubles with math and physics. To-day, the girl succeeds in school way beyond the bare minimum; she has taken up extra language classes for English and German. In another case, nine year old Klim from St. Petersburg (witnessed by his parents) was unable to attend regular school. He was expelled from school three times due to violent and aggressive behavior in class. He had problems with reading, with a reading speed of two times less than average. He actively refused any attempts to force him to read. After the activation of CIP in February of 2010, his behavior was dramatically altered. There was no longer anything left to criticize of his discipline in school, his reading speed has leveled out to just about normal. A love of literature blossomed, and he began to actively read. The doctors that were given the responsibility of observing Klim’s progress noted an immensely positive change according to the results of their encephalographic studies. All that was mentioned above allows me to strongly conclude that the active initiation of Informational Reception into the daily life of the human raises the level of his consciousness to a considerably evolved height of awareness, which grows to be a vital necessity.

NEW APPROACH TO REMOTE DETECTING OF HUMAN EMOTIONS K. KOROTKOV, D. ORLOV Introduction Since the early studies of human behavior, emotion has attracted the interest of researchers in many disciplines of Neurosciences and Psychology. More recently, it is a growing field of research in computer science and machine learning [1]. A lot of research is devoted to developing methods for detecting an emotional state of a speaker participating in an audio signal [2]. The apparatus and method are based on the distance in voice features between a person being in an emotional state and the same person being in a neutral state. Multiple types of emotions can be detected, and the method and apparatus are speaker-independent, i.e., no prior voice sample or information about the speaker is required. Another line of study is dedicated to emotions detection from face expressions and body posture [3]. But all these methods are directed to detecting personal emotions, at the same time in many practical applications it is important to be able detecting collective emotions of the group of people. The aim of this study was developing instrumental method for remote detecting of human emotions, both individual and collective. Method The method of Electrophotonic Imaging (EPI) based on Gas Discharge Visualisation (GDV) technique is well known for applications in medicine, sport and water testing [4-6]. It is based on computer processing of images of gas discharged glow around subject under study in high intensity electromagnetic field. For calibration the instrument we are using titanium cylinder 15 mm (0.6 inch) in diameter connected to the grounding jack of the instrument. (Titanium is very stable and does not oxidize in gaseous discharge). The principle of the EPI/GDV instrument was being used in the ”Electrophotonic Sensor”. The principles of operations are as follows (fig.1). For detection emotions cylinder 1 is connected to the special antenna 2 designed to create non-homogenous electromagnetic field. Generator 3 produces impulses of voltage 7 kV amplitude, 10 mcs duration, coming with 1 kHz frequency in 0.5 s packs every 5 s. Voltage is applied to the transparent conductive layer 4 on the quartz electrode 5. Due to the bias current from antenna 2 a gaseous discharge 7 between cylinder 1 and electrode 5 is generated. The glow of the discharge is detected by a special TV system 6 and after digitizing is kept as series of image files on a memory stick 8 connected to the instrument. Instrument runs on 12 V rechargeable batteries 9 for more than 100 hours in automatic mode. Files are kept in memory 65


with time marks, which allows correlate parameters after data processing with time sequence of the events under study. Bias current in the electrical chain depends on the capacitance of space between antenna 2 and environmental grounded and electroconductive subjects. Fig.2 demonstrates experimental dependence of the glow area of metal cylinder from capacitance. Oblique section of this graph correlates to the most sensitive parameters of the instrument which may be regulated by the amplitude of the applied voltage. Emotions are related to the activity of the parasympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system, which changes blood microcirculation, perspiration, sweating, and other functions of the body, resulting in the changes of the overall conductivity of the body and the conductivity of acupuncture points in particular. So the presence in the vicinity of the instrument of the emotional people may change the conductivity of space and, hence, the signal of the sensor. At the same time in laboratory conditions at night without presence of people variability of data during 6 hours was at the level 0.5 – 1%. Before the measurement instrument should be “warmed up” by operating for 30-50 minutes with cylinder connected to the grounding jack of the instrument.

Experimental Results The very first testing of the “Electrophotonic Sensor” instrument demonstrated the effectiveness of the developed approach. Measurements conducted during religious ceremonies, yoga meditations, public lectures, demonstrated that the signal of the Sensor statistically significantly changes during measurements and these changes are correlated with the course of event. Let us discuss some examples. 03 August 2008 Dr Masaro Emoto had conducted the ceremony of blessing the water at Olkhon Island on lake Baikal in the South-Eastern part of Siberia. Graph of Fig.3 demonstrate time dynamics of signal amplitude and Intensity recorded from antenna in power units which characterize the power of a signal. Arrows mark different stages of a ceremony.

As we see from the graph, all significant moments in the ceremony were followed by picks of the Area. The gradual decrease between points 2 and 4 might be explained by people's gradual loss of their intense concentration. Variations of Intensity graph correlate with the moments of ceremony, but not as precise, as Area graph. Other parameters had smooth character of variations. 13 and 14 September, 2008 in Los Angeles a series of measurements have been conducted during Reconnection Healing workshop led by Erick Pearl and Dough DeVito. Fig.4 and 5 demonstrate time dynamics of the Antenna sensor parameters for the first and the second day of workshop with marked moments of interest.

During the day Area decrease in the first half of the day, and increased in the second half of the day. Intensity increased practically all the day.

Parallel measurements at this workshop were conducted by the group of professor William Tiller with a special PH water sensor [7]. They were able detecting the change of signal during speaker on-stage presentations to the audience, which correlated with our data. A series of experiments with musical performance were conducted. The one discussed in this paper took place at the Children’ Music School named after N. A. Rimski-Korsakov in St. Petersburg on May 22, 2009. A selection of pieces from four stylistic periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20 -Century) has been performed by Dr. Ildar Khannanov. It has become apparent from the graphs, received from the “Electrophotonic Sensor” that the levels of signal th

distinctly vary from style to style. It was possible to compare elements of musical form with the segments of the graph. For example, the graph of area presents the following trend for the opening page of Piece No. 1 in Schumann’s Kreisleriana mirrors the melodic directionality (fig.6). The higher the melody reaches, the more intense is musical condition, the smaller is the area of the signal. This comes in strict agreement with other observations presented above.

At the same time it was found that the “Electrophotonic Sensor” reacts to the change of the

environmental geophysical conditions. Field testing at the Far North of Russia, in Venezuela, Colombia, England demonstrated

that

the instrument is sensitive to the change of environmental parameters. For

example,

in

Novosibirsk, Russia, during Sun Eclipse 1 August 2008 six “Electrophotonic Sensor” instruments positioned in different locations of the area recorded statistically different signal in different phases of sun eclipse. Statistically significant difference of readings before and after with probability 99.9 (p < 0.00001) both for Area and Intensity was found. Fig.7 demonstrates time dynamics of the signal from one of the instruments. Arrow signifies the moment of total sun eclipse.

In August 2007 we participated in a trip to Peru. Two shamanic ceremonies were held during the trip. One was held at Amante Island of Titikaka Lake in the morning on the top of the hill. When we tried to turn on the equipment, all the batteries were found to be empty. The batteries were replaced for fresh ones the previous night, but at the top of the hill the charge was totally gone. Second shamanic ceremony was held at the bank of Urubamba River nearby Cusco. Fig.8 demonstrates the graph of parameters recorded during the ceremony. As we see from the graph fig.8, in the process of ceremony parameters change dramatically. It is difficult attribute these changes either to the emotions of the people or to the environmental conditions. Ceremony was held about 50 meters from the river, weather was mild, slight wind was blowing, and people were standing at some distance from the sensor. Unique character of this experience did not allow repeating it.

Discussion As we see from the presented data, experiments allowed recording both the individual and collective emotional excitations. A lot of experimental data should be collected to make results presentable and publishable. Measurements may be done in a theater, concert hall, church, lecture auditorium. It is interesting to take measurements during sport event. But for 71


one single group it is difficult having many different experiments, we need collective efforts of researches from different countries. The advantage of this approach is that any researcher operating with EPI/GDV Camera may take part in research. We may construct several models explaining observed effects – from chemical and physical ones to quantum electrodynamics and esoteric. From our point of view this is not important at the moment. First of all we need to collect a big database of observations in different situations by several research groups. We should take into consideration the following ideas of prof. Tiller [8]: “The periods of audience-focused attention upon the on-stage speaker signals that group entrainment leading to significant growth of group coherence is occurring. This leads to high information production rate events, Macroscopic spatial information entanglement due to simultaneous use of multiple measuring instruments appear to be generating reduced contrast in the magnitudes of various event signatures. This probably occurs via the addition of out-of-phase vector components (a type of data randomization) As a closing remark, if all the subsystems of the experiment are included in the analysis, it certainly strengthens the statement regarding “only trends” from our experimental measurements can be expected to be meaningful at this time. Further, with Dr. Korotkov’s team making experimental measurements in the same room as us, one should expect information entanglement to occur between their measurement system and ours”! To prove or disapprove these ideas we need to have a series of further experiments with different modalities of healing. At any rate, without being concerned on physical explanations, it is clear that the effects of human emotions are strong and measurable. We may definitely tell about conditioning of environmental space in the workshop room. In the further stages of experiments we need to study the following topics: 1) Correlation between several similar instruments installed in the same room of the workshop and in different rooms. It will help us to answer the question of space conditioning and the area of the influence.

Correlation of results between Dr. Tiller and Dr. Korotkov teams makes them especially significant and opens perspectives for further understanding of the enigmas of consciousness. Results allowed to start a new scientific line of the instrumental investigation of the geoactive zones. In this field culturological aspect of the problem is of particular interest. Idea that from the ancient times historical monuments have been correlated with the “places of power”, areas, having some specific geophysical properties, specific influence to the human condition, has been experimentally approved. The perspectives of study are exciting for everybody interested in the spiritual history of humankind. We may define the whole new international research line: development of the maps of energy parameters of sacral subjects and the program of study of their influence to the human psycho physiological condition, in relation with the environmental situation, health and psycho-type of people. This type of research may be a public domain, contrary to the archeological excavations, they do not need any official allowance, and results may be exchanged and published through the Internet. This approach opens up a broad field of activity. Not just sun-bathing at the beach or wandering around with photo camera, but participating in the international project on the development of Geoactive Zones Database. EPC MEASUREMENTS IN BAGAN, MYANMAR 08-09 JANUARY, 2010 KOROTKOV KG Measurements with “Sputnik” sensor were conducted in several places of Bagan, Mynamar. “Eco-Tester” instrument ran on battery, in standard regime, with 5 sec interval, data were recorded to memory card and processed later with “GDV SciLab” and MS Excell software. Bagan is a spectacular plain stretching away from the Ayeyarwaddy River, dotted with thousands of 800-year old temple ruins. Although human habitation at Bagan dates back almost to the beginning of the Christian era, Bagan only entered its golden period with the conquest of Thaton in 1057 AD.

RESULTS 08 January 2010 sunset, Temple First measurement was conducted at the top of MANUHA TEMPLE 08 January starting around 4.45 pm. Sunset begins at 5.35 pm and darkness at about 6 pm. Graphs below (Fig.1) demonstrate time dynamics of Sensor parameters: Area and Intensity.

As we see from the graphs, there are clear differences between all 4 areas. We do not know the reason of high variation of parameters in the first 20 minutes of recordings, but we may define statistical difference with p < 0.0001 between parameters in all areas (see Table 1). 09 January 2010 sunrise Recording started at 5.35 am outside the cottage where we were staying. Time dynamics of Sensor parameters: Area and Intensity are presented at fig.2.

Results are presented at fig.3.

As we see from the graphs on Area graph there are clear statistical difference between two zones, and graph has descending character, while at the Intensity graph there no such clear difference. 09 January 2010 night in Temple Sensor was positioned inside the little temple before the Buddha statue around 6 pm (in semidarkness). From the graphs we may see clear statistical difference between zones 1 and 2. Both graphs have descending character.

12 January, Inle Lake To test stability of data recording was done at night 12 January at Inle Lake in Myanmar: beautiful place, but having no particular historical features. As we see form the graphs (Fig.5), they have steady descending character without separated sparks, typical for measurements in Bagan. 6900

DISCUSSION When we compare all the graphs, we see that both measurements at the Temples have higher values of Area and Intensity compared with other measurements with the same sensor. All measurements in Bagan have been done during the same day, within 24 hours, with the same environmental conditions, in the vicinity of a mile. So we can make several conclusions: 1. In both cases recording in Temples had significant influence to the readings of a sensor – the amplitude of parameters was higher than in other places of the same area, and parameters had increasing character, while in other places it had descending character. 2. The processes of both sunset (two times) and sunrise (one time) had significant influence to sensor parameters, which correlates with our previous measurements. 3. All data recorded nearby the temples had specific spikes on the graphs, absent in other measurements. 4. Entropy variations in Temples were much higher compared with Inle Lake. 5. All variations were on the level of 2-4%, so the signal was very stable in time. To see this more clear we may present graphs in full scale (Fig.6). REGISTRATION OF THE EMOTIONAL BACKGROUND AT THE OPERA PERFORMANCE KOROTKOV KG July 13 and 15 in Saint Petersburg TV filming of the two world-class opera singers – Rene Flaming and Dmitri Chvorostovski in St. Petersburg palaces was conducted. Performance was organized in two parts, with twice repetitions of the same program, which was conducted by the organization of filming. July 13 filming was performed in the Ball Hall of the Great Peterhof Palace and only technical personnel and organizers of the event were presented. It was raining all the time. July 15 filming was performed in Usupovski Palace and public was invited to the performance. By the end off the concert started a strong thunderstorm. In both cases singers were accompanied by symphony orchestra with conductor Konstantin Orbeljan. We were lucky to be invited to both events and make registration of the signal with “Eco-Tester” instrument. Recording was done in automatic mode with 5 second interval. July 13 EPC/GDV instrument running on 12 V battery with air antenna and personal computer, and July 15 stand-alone “Eco-Tester” was used. Results Fig.1 presents time dynamics of Area and Intensity recorded July 13. Shaded areas at the graphs mark the moments of singers’ performance. We pay attention to two moments: strong descending trend of the area graph and big difference between scales of data (difference between maximum and minimum values at the given interval) at the moments of performance and moments of intermission. The advantage of this performance was in big intermissions necessary for filming which allowed calculating statistical difference of data recorded during performance and intermission.

Descending trend of the area graph may be connected with meteorological conditions (torrential rain), but the influence of the recorded process may not be excluded. At the same time difference of parameters in the moments of performances and intermissions is clear visible at both graphs.

As we see from Table 1 for all parameters we may see statistical difference at particular intervals (should be p < 0.05). Significant conclusions may be done from analysis of scale of parameters (difference between max and min values at the given interval) presented at fig.2. As we see from the graphs the scale of data during performances was significally higher compared with intermissions. Mann-Whitney statistical test of these data demonstrate their statistically significant difference with p< 0.05 both for Area and Intensity (Table 2 – rank for 7 events should be 37or less for the first column).

As we see from the presented above data at the moments of singing parameters of sensor signal were significally different from the parameters in intermissions. For many parameters this difference was statistically significant. This may be presented as the change of entropy of signal at the moments of performance compared with background. We may even say that performance of world-class singers change the entropy of space. While there we may see quite different character of signal July 13 and July 15. One of the main differences in conditions was that July 13 performance was practically without public while July 15 it was organized as a public concert and people from the very beginning were in the state of emotional excitation. At the moment we are unable to make the conclusion how the emotional condition of either public or performers influence the sensor signal. July 13 Electrophotonic (GDV) parameters from fingers of the conductor Konstantin Orbeljan before and after the performance were recorded. As we see from the presented graphs, three hours of conducting resulted in full energy depletion of the artist.
