LUXURY HOTEL BARGES IN FRANCE Each of the barges is different, having been individually restored from former working boats, and they each have a unique charm and character.The oldest dates from 1917, but all have been comprehensively renovated to offer comfortable en-suite accommodation for between 6 and 20 guests, and most barges offer al fresco dining on the deck as well as a cosy lounge and dining room. Some also have small spa pools and there are always bicycles available to cycle on the tow paths.The atmosphere on board is akin to a private ‘house party’, with friendly, personal service, and gentle cruising during the day – the barges are always moored overnight.

cabinS The broad beam means that rooms on board are far more spacious than might be expected on an English narrowboat, and the cabins are generally very comfortable. There are different categories of comfort depending on the barge – ranging from simple and cosy cabins on the smaller vessels to large state rooms which are more akin to a four star hotel room. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and most can be made up as twin or double accommodation.

FOOD & WINE One of the highlights of any hotel barge holiday in France is the delicious cuisine served on board, which is accompanied by an excellent range of French wines and cheese. The experienced onboard chefs procure fresh local ingredients from markets along the route, and create carefully-crafted menus which reflect local specialities – from fresh seafood in the Languedoc to Charolais beef in Burgundy. A responsible holiday company

If you are booking more than nine weeks prior to departure, a deposit will be required to secure your reservation. The amount of the deposit (a minimum of £200 per person) will be confirmed at the time of booking. Full payment is required no later than nine weeks before departure. As a member of ABTA and AITO we conform fully to Government legislation regarding the protection of clients’ money. Air holidays are protected under our ATOL licence, all other holidays are bonded by ABTA. In addition, in the event that your holiday is adversely affected by something beyond our control, we shall always endeavour to advise you in advance and take the appropriate action to minimise any disruption to your holiday. Booking your own flights and hotel online may appear to be cheaper, but remember that you may be leaving a lot to chance – what you might have planned as a holiday can quickly become an endurance test!
