RIVER CRUISES F O R D I S C E R N I N G T R AV E L L E R S
The Danube, Budapest
For those looking for a relaxing way to journey from one great European city to another, boarding a comfortable river cruise boat, settling into your private cabin…and letting the cities and scenery glide by is a wonderfully civilised way to travel. There is no need to check-in to different hotels – you simply relax, let Kirker arrange your flights or Eurostar combined with high-speed train, Kirker private transfers deliver you effortlessly to the quayside, and a new city arrives each day. We can highly recommend the family-run AmaWaterways as one of the leading river cruise specialists, with the highest standards of personal service. The quality of the cabins on board is excellent: all have private facilities, great views, and the majority have large windows and balconies – we can also highly recommend upgrading to the larger suites. On board there is excellent service in the bar lounge, and the restaurant offers freshly-prepared cuisine – where Kirker clients will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at no extra cost – including complimentary wines. We have selected four of the best AmaWaterways sailings during the first part of 2019, and combined them with flights from the UK, Kirker private transfers and accommodation pre- and post- cruise in one of our favourite hotels. Highlights include journeys on two of Europe’s great rivers, the Danube and Rhine, and itineraries through the vineyards of Bordeaux and the bulb fields and art galleries of the Low Countries. Each itinerary includes an optional, but comprehensive, programme of sightseeing, with expert guides, walking tours and wine-tastings – whilst the Kirker Concierge is always on hand for local restaurant reservations or tickets for additional private visits to museums, opera, ballet or a special concert. Just telephone 020 7593 2283 to speak to an expert, and ask us to tailor-make your own itinerary. We look forward to hearing from you.
Ted Wake - Joint MD & Director of Sales & Marketing P.S. We have negotiated special prices for Kirker clients on these four cruises, saving up to £500 per person. Bookings must be made by 31 December 2018 – see back page for details.

Our suggested itineraries include cruises on five of AmaWaterways’ award-winning river cruise ships: AmaSerena, AmaSonata, AmaCerto, AmaDolce and AmaStella. Each has been rated by the Berlitz guide as one of the top ten river cruise ships in Europe, and we have personally travelled on several different vessels. The ships vary in layout slightly, but each has spacious public areas including a panoramic lounge bar, where live piano music is played in the evenings, an Observation Lounge from which you can enjoy the passing scenery with complimentary tea and coffee, a salon and fitness room. There are also bicycles on board for exploring the riverbanks independently or with one of the organised guided excursions.
The main restaurant on board offers a varied menu of both international dishes and regional specialties using locally sourced ingredients from the area through which you are travelling. There is also a Chef ’s Table restaurant, which is a more intimate alternative where diners can watch the open kitchen at work – please make a reservation on board. Complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks are served with lunch and dinner, plus sparkling wine at breakfast, and a ‘Sip & Sail Cocktail Hour.’
All accommodation on board is in spacious ‘state rooms’ of between 15 and 30 sqm, with en suite bathrooms. Kirker prices start from Category D staterooms on the Piano deck, which are modern, comfortable and well-equipped, but we can highly recommend upgrading to one of those on the Violin & Cello decks, which have either French Balconies or outside balconies with a table and chairs. See the deck plans below for more details, and turn to the back page for prices. Single supplements are available on request for all cabins.
