CIS MEMBERSHIP UPDATE Feedback from our December 2021 CIS Membership Virtual Visit
Virtual Visit Focus & Outcome In mid December, KIS hosted a virtual visit for our CIS School Support & Evaluation Officer Mr. Norm Dean. Mr. Dean spent three days meeting with various members of the community and the committee members who prepared our membership report. His activities included things like: Viewing school spaces in action Meeting with students from all divisions Conducting virtual learning observations Observing student presentations to the board about green initiatives To see the whole schedule, check out the logistics here.

Social Studies & Humanities provide contextually relevant experiences for students to actively engage with issues of global significance, complemented by a rich co-curricular program.
The promotion of translanguaging across the curriculum was noted by teachers, students and parents as a positive development, and seen as contributing positively to student learning and well-being through the valuing of, and respect for local culture.
The appointment of a designated safeguarding coordinator demonstrates the school's commitment to strengthening this aspect of school life, and it was evident during the visit that much good work has been accomplished already, with plans in place to address other areas requiring review and development.
