ACTIVITY WEEK RECAP This year’s Activity Week was phenomenal. Everyone showed excellence by giving their best and living out the KISC values. The Primary Activity Week was a real high for all as students and staff celebrated the week with the VBS SKY program. The focus was - trusting God in all that we say, do, are, and go! Highlights included high energy songs, fun games, scientific experiments and the interactive Bible stories pointing to the Mark 10:27 passage that states- “With God all things are possible!” Here are some student comments about the week. Activity week was very fun. We did science stuff, we learned about the Bible and we played games. I enjoyed it because we learned more about the Bible. - VISHWAS KARMACHARYA
I enjoyed Activity Week and I didn’t want anything to change. The activity I enjoyed the most was PE Activities. It was so fun putting Vaseline on your nose and sticking the cotton ball on your nose. I also liked the parashoot activity.
- MAXIM MISHRA
The Secondary students gained a variety of experiences during the activity week, including trekking (Yr. 7), Safari in Chitwan (Yr. 8), community service with Habitat for Humanity (Yr. 9), canyoning at Last Resort (Yr. 10), work experience (Yr. 11) and developing leadership skills (Yr. 12 and 13).

ARTWORK CELEBRATING KISC COMMUNITY UNVEILED 144 canvases have taken centre stage in the KISC hall. These amazing works of art were produced in art lessons during last term by Year 3-12 students. Staff members were also invited to create artwork. The project began by inviting each participant to recognise their own unique qualities and character, exploring them through colour, texture and markMs. Brown and Ms. Parr with the artwork before installation. making to represent who they are on canvas. They were encouraged to celebrate their own unique God-given character, gifts and talents and also to affirm that of others. The final result is a colourful mosaic of different canvases celebrating the community we are part of. KISC staff Anne Brown and Suzie Parr, who coordinated and ran the project have backgrounds as artists, curators and teachers of art. Thanks to Year 7 students, Debbie Gough and Ali Wilkinson who helped layout the pieces and decide on the final arrangement. A special thanks to our site manager John Richards and his team of Janak ji, Chakraman ji, Ramesh ji and Birendra ji who helped install the artwork.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS! @ KISC LIBRARY
U15 FOBISSEA GAMES 28 - 30 NOVEMBER KISC students will be participating in the Under 15 FOBISSEA Games hosted by The British School Nov. 28-30. The games will feature football, basketball and other athletic events. KISC students are encouraged to participate in this worldwide competition aiming to develop a superhero book by the end of the school year. For the first part of the competition, Secondary students will be describing the superhero of the story while the Primary students will be describing the villain. A winner will be chosen from each school. Just remember, every villain and superhero needs a sidekick, so there might be more than one winner. Entries are due by Tuesday 3 Dec. Winners will be announced the last week of this term! Please stop by the library to pick up an entrance form and start describing your character.
Congratulations to KISC & Friends football team for winning a friendly game against Cloud Factory of 11 aside. The score was 5-0. Good job!
KISC COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS The aim of the Community Connections (CC) program is to foster student and staff involvement in community organizations. We also seek to encourage students to develop a broader world view and experience the personal growth and development that comes through service. Last year, we recorded 1116 hours of student participation in community projects. This year, we’d like to do even more! All students will be involved in some sort of community program throughout the year, either in class groups or as individuals. It is a requirement for graduation that Senior Secondary students log 10 hours of individual CC projects each year (Years 10-13). Currently, we are exploring local groups and organizations for our students to participate in community projects. If you know of any such group or have connections with people or organizations who may be able to assist us in this project, email Community Connections Coordinator Tonya Padgett at tpadgett@kisc.edu.np. Thank you for helping us to give our students opportunities to be loving servants of Christ!

PTA NOTES A huge thank you for a successful Winter Fair on November 10. More than a thousand people came. We had a pleasant time and felt less crowded at the new site. It is great to have a community celebration like the Fair. If you missed this fair, we welcome you to the next one on Sunday, May 18, 2014. In this fair, we raised NPR 1,89,282. The money will be used for various KISC projects outside the regular budget as well as EQUIP, our teacher training programme. If you have a good idea for a project, please feel free to fill out a form at KISC Reception. KISC LIBRARY & AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS
It is exciting to see how God is increasing our community. It is truly a blessing. We want to serve our community the best we can and in order to do this we are able to offer the use of our library to families outside of KISC for a fee of NRs. 2000 per year. We want to clarify that we are not able to have outside families participate in our Primary after school activities. We do not have the ability to handle more students at this time in our Primary after school programs. Please do feel free to pass this information on to families that are not a part of our KISC family. Thank you for your understanding. - Laura Beth, Primary Principal

If you have any specific websites, or open source (free) software that you use with your children and would be happy to share with other parents, please email details to Simon Hall at shall@kisc.edu. np.
