KITESURFEN IN CAPE TOWN The west coast, north of Cape Town offers a variety of spots for all tastes and skills. Since the wind is amplified there by different thermal and topographic effects, a distance of just a few kilometers already has a great impact on the conditions. Right outside the door you will find the Sunset Beach, a spot that would actually be enough for a two-week kite trip. Depending on the swell, there are waves from one to several meters. Sunset Beach is more suitable for advanced kitesurfer. Unlike St. Peter Ording with its “choppy chaos”, you will find nice, long, “glassy-flats” in between the waves. You can really take a run for the next wave kicker. The bay starting on Sunset Beach runs approximately one mile long to Blouberg beach. This bay is again divided into different sections. The names you’ve probably heard before: Dolphin Beach, Table View, Kitebeach.
heavenly condiTions
You probably already noticed it: the next key word is downwinder… Sunset is the perfect base for starting a downwinder up north. Ahead of Blouberg beachyou will pass some heavy cliffs, only very experienced riders should pass here. Passing the cliffs you will get to the Big Bay with other conditions. The wind starts at noon (so you can sleep late or relax in the morning exploring the area) and hits the south – homespot Sunset Beach – at first. Generelly the further north you go, the less wind. Quite different conditions can be found at the shallow water spot of Langebaan. Here in about an hour drive from the Mansion, even beginners will find a beautiful lagoon area, but it can get busy, especially during high season.

Your kite instructors will also live in the mansion and depending on the conditions you will be driving to the ideal spot for the day. Theroy lessons will be held in the garden or the living room so you will be able to just stay sit after the lessons and discuss about your experiences or just to hang out and grab a beer or such. Certainly, you can book your kite course with us - no matter what level you have. Beginner, intermediate or special courses, e.g. for wave kiting - our specialized and licensed instructors will teach with the newest kite gear available. BEGINNER KITE COURSE (VDWS LEVEL 0-1) For everybody, who is new in this sport, but who wants to do it right from the very beginning! 3 days / 6 hours VDWS beginners course (gear inclusive – kite, board, harness, wet suit) and 1 day out of 3 the course will be held in Langebaan.The beginners course is conducted by our partner kite school in Table View. INTERMEDIATE KITE COURSE (VDWS LEVEL 2-4) For the intermediate kitesurfers amongst you, who are not yet quite ready for the Kite Camp, we offer a two days advanced kitesurfing course. In small groups with max. two persons you will soon achieve your desired level. The course can be booked by all of you who already can handle the kite safely and have had the first attepmts with the board on the water. 2 days / 6 hours VDWS intermediate course (gear inclusive – kite, board, harness, wet suit). The intermediate course is conducted by our partner kite school in table View. ADVANCED KITE COURSE (VDWS LEVEL 4-7) You already know how to kite, but you need a little refresher in how to jump for example. Our KiteWorldWide kite instructor will work out an individual learning target with you. 1 day / 3 hours VDWS advanced kite course (gear inclusive – kite, board, harness, wet suit).

This loft-style villa in Sunset Beach, just 100 meters from the beach and the famous, Parking 1 ‘away, did impress us immediately. indeed that impressed, that we decided to take the Mansion under contract for the next years. FACILITIES The high ceiling in the great living room makes for a bright atmosphere. Along with chill sofas, a large flat screen TV for you to watch the pics of the day or the last kitesurfing movies, create an immediate feeling of community. In the large, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator compartments for each room you can easily prepare your favorite breakfast. For the evening dinner there are several options. Of course you can make use of one of the many kitchen facilities, and cook your dinner at home: Gas stove, oven, microwave, toaster, cofee machine and not to forget, the great BBQ grill. Last but not least you should spend some of your evenings visiting the many restaurants in and around Cape Town. Be prepared for the most amazing food at unbeatable prices. Your guide on site will give the best tips on where to go! Oh, and did we mention the large sun roof terrace with the view of Table Mountain and the kite spot? Since the Mansion was designed and built by a Kitesufer, there is also a storage garage and an outdoor garden shower. (Kitestorage fee? Not in the KiteWorldWide Mansion. You store your stuff for free!). Rounding out the house with chic, comfortable guest rooms, all with a private bathroom with private shower / WC. In the common areas, WiFi is available, which is perfect for checking your emails (and wind ;) ), but please do not expect the European speed and reliability.

ROOMS
ACCOMMODATION
There are three types of rooms available. COSY ROOM These 25 square meter big rooms are situated on the ground floor, and can accomodate up to two persons. These rooms are really convenient for single travelers, as the single room prices are easy on your wallet. Two out of three have an access to the garden. Comfortable beds (twin or double bed) with luxurious feather beds for the best sleep you could ask for. Surely all Cosy rooms come with an own comfortable bathroom with a warm water shower, toilet and electronic safe. Two rooms are connected through a door and are thus perfectly suitable for groups or families. LOFT ROOM These bright, 20-40 square meter rooms are located on the first floor. Some also have an extra bed and can accommodate up to three people. The third bed is not as comfortable as the others and should not be planned for the 2 meter person among you. Every Loft room comes with a comfortable bathroom with a warm water shower, toilet and an electronic safe. Two rooms are connected by a door. This makes this suite ideal for the young family with up to two children. CATERING The Kite Mansion is layed out for self-catering.

KiteWorldwide camps for advanced kitesurfers KITESURF EVENTS For those of you who like to kite with an experienced guide around Cape Town in a group of likeminded riders on a similar level, we have the perfect offer for you: the Advanced Kitesurf Camps. These camps are designed specifically for advanced riders (at least level 3 IKO, upwind, turning, basic jumps). Spotguiding, riding downwinder together, photo sessions, going on excursions and out to have dinner together are just some of the activities included in the camp itinerary. Together with the guide you will discover the several spots in and around Cape Town you would probably not see otherwise. To get the ultimate kick on the water you can test the latest gear of Best Kiteboarding. You can choose from a pool of wave kites and boards. Programme and support from our KiteWorldWide guide The entire kite season, from 1 October to 15 April there is a German KiteWorldWide guide with you on the spot. He knows everything there is to know about surfing, eating out and doing further activities in and around Cape Town. NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE Food and dining in Cape Town During our trip to Cape Town we had the idea of offering gourmet travel during low season – since the quality of food at the restaurants in and around Cape Town is just amazingly good. When you experience it, you will very unlikely be keen on dining in a hotel or preparing something by yourself. You will not be able to prepare such great meals for a lower price than offered in the restaurants. Here the food is not cheap, but for its quality extremely low priced. You can get perfectly grilled 300 g beef fillets for twelve Euros, seafood plates for less than ten Euros and a delicious bottle of wine from South Africa for five Euros. Several times a week, we will reserve seats in the best restaurants in town and who wants to go out and dine in a group is always invited to join. Once a week we organize a typical South African Braai (BBQ) in the garden of the Mansion. In addition we offer „gourmet- happenings” – for example the Old Bisquit Mill market every Saturday Morning or a ten course meal with fish and seafood in an amazing beach restaurant called Strandloper located in Langebaan. Surely all those activities are perfectly timed so that you have enough time for burning as much calories on the water as you can.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR HOLIDAY ENTRY DOCUMENTS AND VISA
Please keep in mind that you need a passport valid for at least another 6 months until expiry, which has two empty pages. You will get the visa for South Africa directly at the airport for 50 US$. New entry rules apply for children under 18 since 1st of October 2014. Children under the age of 18 need a notarized birth certificate (international birth certificate) in English in order to enter the country. Single traveling parents have to carry a letter of consent by the missing parent with them. This document has to be signed by a notary in the South African embassy.
TRANSFER
You have a choice of three different possibilities of how to get from airport to the mansion: 1. A transfer company can pick you up from the airport and bring you directly to the KiteWorldWide Mansion (30 € per car per way, max. of 3 people). 2. You can also take a taxi from the airport. 3. You can also book a rental car during the booking process. A driver will bring you in the rental car from the airport to the mansion.
CURRENCY
You can pay in the South African currency rand, with US-Dollars, with your credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) or get money from an ATM machine with your debit card.
CATERING & MORE
The mansion has a huge kitchen, which is open to everybody. There are many shopping stores near by. Going out to eat is delicious and doesn‘t cost much. Definitely wortht it. Overall, the costs per day vary in bewtween 20 - 50 €.

ELECTRICITY AND INTERNET CONNECTION
In our KiteWorldWIde Mansion the voltage used is 220 V. Plugtypes are D and M - so you better bring an adapter (220 V to 230 V). You can use internet for free via W-Lan in the common areas throughout the mansion.

The kiteschool is is VDWS licensed and has brandnew kite equipment by Best. The kiteservice includes storage. What kite sizes do I have to bring?
A male kiter (level 6 or 7), who weighs approx. 80kg, needs:

THE SPOTS
The kiteschool is located directly in the Mansion and Sunset Beachis used for schoolings. Sunset Beach is situated one hundred meters away from the Mansion - the further downwind you kite the more stable the wind is. Big Bay (in the afternoon) is a 10 minute car drive away from the Mansion. Sommerset Beach West is a freeride spot with light onshore wind. You can reach this spot by car within 40 minutes east of Cape Town. Scarborough is a super sweet wave spot. You will need around 1 - 1,5 hours going south out of Cape Town. Langebaan is a spot one hour north of Cape Town. Scharks Bayis part of Langebaan.
