Why KiTesafari?

Endless beaches, waves, wind – every day! A maximum of eight riders, one driver, one local guide who knows all the secret spots. Sounds like a dream. Once you feel the salt water on your skin and the wind is blowing and you hear the first rider cries of joy, because he or she just did the first high jump, then you will realize: THIS is kitesurfing in Brazil. Not one of these mass events, but pure kitesurfing – like it should be! During this safari we will bring you to the wild north-east of Brazil, where the best spots are, and where there are not 50 kites in the sky but only yours. And the best thing is yet to come, because the journey is the reward! You will ride on the water with the wind and we will escort you with our 4x4 pickups along the beach. You will be on the water for 12 days in a row and ride new spots on a daily basis. Be aware: This is not a tour for beginners. During this tour you will ride in strong winds and in high waves. It is absolutely necessary that you are an experienced rider.

DOWNWINDER

We will start at one point of the coast, after carefully checking wind-, wave- and tide conditions. Then we will cruise for about 20 miles at high speeds down the coast, without the annoying upwind tacking.

True KITESAFARI

Here are a few facts, why our trips are different from those other providers offer. We exclusively use 4 wheel drive pick up trucks (e.g. Toyota Hilux) and NOT beach buggys or Jeeps. Buggys tend to break down regularly and with time they also become extremely uncomfortable. It also takes forever to load up the Jeeps with all the kite luggage. We stay in stylish, cool Brazilian Pousadas, which in most of the cases were built up by other kiters, NOT in some impersonal hotel chain. Our kite safaris are organized for a maximum of 8 people, in two cars. The KiteWorldWide safari is not a mass event, because what advantage would you have from being at a solitary spot, but bringing a group of 30 people with you.

kiTesafari - Tour i SAFARI 1

Lagoinha – Guajiru – Fleixeras – Icaraizinho – Prea – Jericoacoara – Guriu – Tatajuba The safari begins with a kite session in front of our pousada in Guajiru. In the morning we will drive to Lagoinha. From here on we start our first downwinder to Guajirú. The third day begins with a downwinder to Emboaca, where a nice wave spot awaits you. Afterwards, we will drive back to the pousada in Guajirú. The next day you will drive to Mundaú with the 4×4 for some flat water kiting. Afterwards you will be doing a long downwinder to Icaraizinho de Amontada, where you will spend the night. In the morning you will kite to the secret spot of Icaraizinho de Amontada. You will stay the night in a pousada in Icaraizinho. After getting up you will drive to Preá for your first kite session of the day. Later you do a beautiful downwinder during sunset straight to Jericoacoara. You will spend the night there and enjoy the nightlife of the town. The next downwinder is from Jeri to Guriu. Guriú is a river mouth with an amazing flat water spot, which all you freetsylers will love. Later on you do another downwinder to the amazing spot of Tatajuba. On the last day, depending on the tides, we’ll do a downwinder from Tatajuba to Camocim and afterwards a session in the unique flat water lagoon of Tatajuba or the other way around.

Tatajuba – Barra Grande – Parnaiba – Ilha das Canarias – Tatajuba The Safari begins with a kite session in the amazing lagoon of Tatajuba. After the warm up session we proceed with the cars to the first downwinder from Jeri or Guriú back to Tatajuba. The second day is initiated by a downwinder from Tatajuba to Camocim. You will cross the river of Camocim with a ferry. Depending on the tide you might also start with a first kite session in Maceio followed by a nice downwinder directly to your next beachfront pousada in Barra Grande. You will spend the next two days in this beautiful area and ride a couple of downwinders from here. On the fith day you will be kiting through the Barra Grande Delta to Luis Correira. The next pousada is located at Ilha das Canárias right in the middle of a river delta surrounded by a mangrove forest. It can only be reached by boat or kite and is an absolute highlight of the trip. The next morning starts with a boat cruise to a sand bank where you can choose between flat water on one side and a wave session on the open sea. The seventh day begins with another kite session at the sand bank followed by a downwinder with incredible waves. The following cruise through the mangroves back to the pousada is the perfect ending of a beautiful day in the nature of Brazils wild north. In the morning of day 8 for a change we will move back to the cars to travel back to Tatajuba.
