Together with our longtime partner and friends from Ibi & Friends we discovered and developed Seahorse Bay between Hurghada and El Gouna for kitesurfers. The new and comfortable kite villa has been completed and opened in March 2011. Because of these perfect conditions we decided to make an exclusive contract with the Kite Club in Seahorse Bay. Right at this new spot there are indeed three things that we haven’t seen in Egypt anywhere else: 1. Accommodations right at the spot (even on the kite school area): You have the choice between three different accommodations right at the spot with no more than a five minutes walk from the new kite centre. Missing out on wind because of tuk-tuk rides or late busses belongs to the past. 2. Limited guest number for more space on the water: The number of kitesurf beginners and storages for kite equipment is limited, so you’ll always have enough space on the water. 3. Kiting at low tide: Like everywhere in Egypt the water runs out of the Seahorse Bay at low tide. Kitesurfing at seahorse bay
Thanks to the large shallow-water area and the stable wind direction the spot is perfect for beginners. There is enough space in the lagoon as the number of students and storage slots is limited. This is why neither beginners nor advanced kiters feel restricted. The shallow lagoon with fine sand and the fact that there are more than 70% windy days a year provides ideal conditions for unforgettable kitesurf sessions. Experienced kitesurfers can kitesurf independent of the tide in the so-called “pool� in the ocean. We recommend wearing booties due to small shells and stones in the water.

The professional instructors at the Kite Club Seahorse Bay teach in English, or German if you want. All instructors are licensed and teach in small groups of max. 4 people to ensure a fast progress of your skills. To confirm your current kite level you can also acquire your VDWS kite license right after your kite course. This allows you to rent gear everywhere around the world. For more advanced kiters, we offer courses to improve your technique and to reach the next (VDWS) level.

The Kite Club Seahorse Bay offers kitesurfing lessons with professional and VDWS licensed instructors, kite rental and gear storage (kite service) for up to 25 guests in an exclusive and family-like atmosphere. The Kite Club is located right at the spot on a private lot of about 1400 m². Along with the kite villa there is a nice and large garden that joins directly to the beach and spot. Here you will find showers along with cozy sunbeds and other sitting areas perfect for relaxing between or after kite sessions.

In the Kiteclub we always provide the latest gear from the current season. Our great kite pool ranges from F-One (Bandit 5 & 6), Slingshot and boards from Spleene and F-One. You will find the perfect setup for everybody.

accommodations directly at the kitesurf spot KITECLUB SEAHORSE BAY The kite villa with its spacious terrace is the focal point of the Kiteclub and spreads out over 200 square meters. In addition the Kite Club provides a lovely and large garden with direct access to the spot.
FACILITIES The Kite Club’s generous garden includes a jacuzzi to relax in between your kite sessions. Sun beds and other comfy seating will be awaiting you in and around the kite villa and are of course free of charge. The oriental corner with fireplace and shishas invites to a nice chill-out session. There’s also a small cafeteria where you can enjoy tasty snacks with non-alcoholic drinks like Egyptian tea. Additionally, there is a reading corner in the chill out area, a climbing wall, satellite TV, and a DVD player for recordings from your day on the water or to watch movies. In the lounge of the Kite Villa you can find a pool table and a tabletop football. In case you forgot some kite stuff like rash guards, board shorts or other minor but important gear you have the possibility to purchase them in the little shop inside the kite villa. Half board is included in your stay at the Kite Club accommodation.

SEAHORSE BAY Guesthouse
The little guesthouse is situated directly on the private sandy beach next to the Kite Club Seahorse Bay. The pension is surrounded by the Red Sea on three sides.
FACILITIES From the heated fresh water pool you can follow the wind and watch the kiters on the water. The pool bar provides you with fresh cool beverages. Comfortable sun beds with mattresses and beach towels beside the pool or on the beach are included in the price. In the Seahorse Bay Pension you don’t need to care about anything. All you need to do is being present and being hungry at the given lunch and dinner times and you will be taken care of three times a day.

4****movie gate CLUB HOTEL HURGHADA
The large club hotel (formerly known as Calimera Club Hotel) consists of a main building with several subsidiary buildings and bungalows around. It is located south of the kite centre at the hotel’s private sandy beach, right next to the kite spot. Within a five-minute walk along the beach you will reach the Kite Club. Movie Gate Club Hotel is perfect for beach holidays, especially for families with younger children. FACILITIES Within the club resort you’ll find an attractive pool area as well as a sun terrace with sun beds and umbrellas (included in the price). Non-kiters and children can choose between a number of alternative activities. The kid’s club will entertain the children while mommy and/or daddy are kiting through our bay just around the corner. There is also a professional diving school on site. The all inclusive package includes large buffets in different restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner and even snacks between 7:00am and midnight. You can also get all national alcoholic drinks between 10:00am and midnight, as well as soft drinks.

Seahorse Bay events KITE LEARN EVENTS Sun, perfect temperature, good wind potential, a lot of space in the lagoon and a chilled atmosphere- these are the basic conditions for KiteWorldWide and Ibi & Friends’ kitesurfing events in the Seahorse Bay. The motto for all kitesurfing events is “All you can learn”. For absolute beginners or advanced kitesurfers, you can join the event with your own equipment or rent equipment. In a one week intensive training course there will be three kitesurfing instructors for a maximum of 15 beginners. On site, the group is divided according to their level in order for each kitesurfer to be individually tailored in their group. For six hours a day, the students will learn everything they could ever dream of from the VDWS licensed kitesurfing instructors. Additionally there will be video analyzing, photo shooting and a great program including event outings, in particular, to El Gouna or Hurghada, as well as bonfires and kitesurfing movie nights. ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE PRICE
EXCURSION TO HURGHADA You’ll head to old Hurghada with a local that shows you how to experience Egypt for real. You can snatch up some good deals at a bazaar and try some local delicacies. Afterwards we will have some drinks at a cocktail bar with live music. EXCURSION TO EL GOUNA Our second evening excursion goes to the tourist city El Gouna. An entirely different evening awaits you. For lots of regular tourists this is paradise – you should at least see it once, just to be able to talk about it. We’ll show you the best restaurants and bars in the marina. You can smoke shisha, chill out and party it up. BARBECUE & BONFIRE NIGHT One night a week is set aside for the Kite Club Seahorse Bay. We fire up the Barbecue and the bonfire to chill and feast in the garden while chatting about the latest kites and moves. Afterwards we hang around at the oriental corner, smoking a shisha and getting into the right mood for the upcoming days. CLIMBING WALL At the back of the Kite Club you will find a brand new three meters’ high climbing wall where you can try out several parcours. Climbing is a perfect addition to kitesurfing and is a lot of fun as well. SNORKELING KiteWorldWide guests can get snorkeling gear for free at our Kite Club and explore the close reef.

SUP Stand-up-paddling is the fitness trend of the last years. No matter if you watch the big wave surfers on Hawaii or you go to the flat water river around the corner, SUPs are everywhere. We have four sets of SUPs at the Kite Club which you can use at any time. ACTIVITIES YOU CAN BOOK AT SIGHT (ADDITIONAL CHARGES) DIVING The Red Sea is also known for its beautiful diving areas and offers the possibility to experience astonishing diving or snorkeling day trips. Diving excursions as well as lessons are available at the diving school, which is only five minutes away. It has its own diving boats starting right in front of the Movie Gate. QUAD BIKING TOURS With a bunch of horsepower under your buttocks and in small groups including a local guide you will be cruising through the desert of Egypt. It is up to you whether you want to gently cruise around and enjoy the beautiful landscape or taking those machines to top speed drifting through the soft sand. EXCURSION TO LUXOR OR CAIRO Day trips to Luxor and its ‘Valley of the Kings and Thebes’ or to Cairo are recommended and totally worth the drive. You should just keep in mind that those excursions will take a whole day so you might want to check the wind prior to the booking. There’s tons more to experience. ENTRY DOCUMENTS AND VISA
The kitesurf school is VDWS licensed and always got the newest kite gear (kites: F-One, Bandit 5&6, Slingshot, Gaastra / boards: Spleene, F-One, Underground). The kiteservice covers: start – and landing service, a compressor, very extensive helpby the team on sight.
German residents need to bring their passport or the identity card valid for at least six more months. Residents from outside of Germany should inform themselves at the Egyptian embassy in advance. The costs for the Egyptian Visa (20 €) are not included in the price. The charge will be paid to the authorities at the airport right after the arrival. Your transfer driver will help you at sight in case you have further questions.
TRANSFER
Right after the arrival you will be picked up by a transfer driver of Egypt Sun Tours and be brought directly to Seahorse Bay. There sure is enough space for your kite luggage and unlike other providers you don’t have to pay any extra charges. Depending on your time of arrival the team of Ibi&Friends will be awaiting you at the kiteschool.
CURRENCY
In Egypt you can pay with Euros or Egyptian pound, as well as Visa or Master Card. Within the Kite Club you can pay with Euros but not with your credit card.
ELECTRICITY AND INTERNET CONNECTION
Thg voltage used in Egypt is 220 V. Plugs are two-pronged, like in Europe. In the internet corner you can use the wireless LAN network for free (slow).
FOOD AND OTHER SUPPLIES
The kitchen of the Kiteclub offers a variety of different beverages, snacks and dishes for good rates during the day. Alcoholical beverages can be ordered and will be bought for you. In total, you will need approx. 10 - 20 € per day.

Airport: Hurghada (HRG) The bigger tour operators Star Tour, Ving and Apollo fly from Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen to Hurghada once a week in the summer time and several times a week from October on. Airlines flying from Germany are Air Berlin, Condor, TUIFly and other charters. Flights from northern Europe take about five hours. Flights from southern Europe take about four hours. The transfer from the airport to Seahorse Bay takes about 15 – 20 minutes.
