Review : Not theft-proof but tamper resistant I’ve added these to all our urban bikes so that it takes a bit more work to remove a wheel (esp. the front) and walk off with it. It won’t stop a determined thief, but you do have to have the correct allen key on hand to remove it (remember to carry one in your kit) so if someone is fiddling with your bike you can be sure they are up to no good. I’d still use a cable through the front wheel but we all get in a rush at times and this is cheap insurance. If properly used, they are also a bit more secure than the usual quick-release as they can’t be loosed by a knock or catching on something.
