Emotions

« You’re filled with awe when you stand up here. Every time. » Didier Cuche It is said that Kitzbühel is one of the races where the fewest words are spoken at the starting gate. Full concentration. The starting slope is so steep that the skiers accelerate up to 120 km / hour in just a few seconds. Some racers compare the feeling to jumping off a 10-meter board.

CHARACTER

Cuche. Kjus. Miller. Names you find on the lists of the top skiers of all times. They conjure up images of Olympic medals, world championship titles and top places in the FIS ski world cup. To us, these names mean more than that. To us, they are the embodiment of a strong character.

Without compromise. Pushing the limits. Getting better every day. The corporate philosophy of KJUS is based on the mindset of Bode Miller, Lasse Kjus and Didier Cuche. Together with these athletes, we are developing and testing excellent products defining the standard in terms of function, comfort and premium quality.

The Mousetrap

« Check to make sure everything is in place. Go! Push off and you’re racing downhill toward the Mousetrap at over 120 km/hour. If you don’t jump in the right direction now, you end up 80 meters further down at the fence. » Lasse Kjus The Mousetrap is one of the steepest and one of the most crucial parts of the Streif downhill course. If you miss the exit out of the Mousetrap, you will lose a lot of time on the steep section.

Hallowed hall of fame

The club house of the Kitzb端hel ski club was built directly above the starting slope of the legendary Streif downhill course. Pictures of Olympic gold medalists, world champions and world cup winners bear witness to the tradition of the famous ski race.

« The Streif challenge is ever-present. » Bode Miller

« When you come in here, you immediately sense the vibes. There are very few places as impressive as this one. » Bode Miller

The perfect turn

« When you’re young it’s easy to believe you could get through the steep slope with a perfect turn. I used to think so myself. » Bode Miller In the 2008 downhill Bode tackled the steep section like nobody before. He stayed all the way at the edge and tried to turn as he came out of it. The turn ended at the fence – but without a crash. Bode continued the race.

We must be crazy

« I salute everyone who ever skied down here, » says one who became a living legend by winning Kitzbühel five times: Didier Cuche Lasse Kjus won twice in Kitzbühel – despite a serious crash in training. Bode Miller medaled twice with spectacular runs. It is one of his major goals to win the Streif downhill.
