New Liberty Fire Fighter
cially recognized as a member of Liberty Fire Department at their promotion ceremony. He received his helmet from Chief Talbott and retired Chief Beard - his PopPop and hero. To say we are proud of his hard work, dedication and ce is an understatement. His passion and work ethic has motivated him in ways most never imagined over the past 2 1/2 years - high school by day, hundreds of hours of FF certification classes by night, online college degree classes this year, answering every call possible with Staley FD, now also pulling shifts at Liberty FD when needed, all while holding down a PT job. ce time with friends and family, much of the typical high school experience, and countless hours of sleep. I often worried over him missing out, growing up too fast and seeing and doing things that will change a person, even as an adult. Of course, he is stubborn and didn’t waiver. Now, that dream of being part of this brotherhood and doing what he loves, gets closer. Story via

Remember this scripture
[Colossians 4:5-6]
As you head out into YOUR mission field today: Your job , The soccer field, The grocery store , Your friend’s house, Or even your own kitchen , (… wherever God has you currently)
Every day has a purpose offering for you. It’s your choice to either properly represent the One you claim (if you say you’re a Christian that is)

NCDOT Urges Safety Around Railroad Tracks
RALEIGH – State transportation officials are reminding people to stay off railroad property because it is illegal and dangerous.
“Railroad property and tracks are for trains and are not for walking, jogging or any form of trespassing,” said Jason Orthner, director for the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Rail Division. “This time of year, students are also taking senior and prom pictures. We strongly urge photographers to not trespass on railroad property.”
NCDOT’s Rail Division also urges people to follow these tips:
• Pedestrians should always cross the railroad at safe, legal crossings such as bridges, underpasses, and railroad crossings with signage.
• Never walk or jog on railroad property or along a railroad track. Railroads are private property and are not walking paths.
• Never stop your vehicle on railroad tracks at a crossing; make sure you have room for your vehicle before proceeding across.
• If there is an emergency at a railroad crossing, call the number on the blue sign at the crossing. This is the fastest way to alert officials who manage the railroad. The division’s BeRailSafe program provides important rail safety information to the public, schools, law enforcement and first responders. Please visit www.berailsafe.org for more information.
