Sugarman’s Corner Downtown Klamath Falls warmly welcomes a new park! It all started with a simple request from a group of citizens, "Parks make communities better, let's make Klamath Falls a better community!" The request came to the City in 2014. Since then, the citizens group along

with the Downtown Association, the Downtown Advisory Committee, the Parks Advisory Board and the city joined forces to design a park. Sugarman's Corner was completed by city staff and maintained the city's infrastructure, saving taxpayer money and building a better community. Sugarman’s Corner opened on June 30, 2016. Be sure to stop by and enjoy our newest community project. Source: http://www.sugarmanscorner.com/

Exploring our History Downtown Klamath Falls has an outstanding stock of historical buildings that highlight the community’s unique character. On Wednesday, July 6, 2016 the Klamath Falls Downtown Association (KFDA) in partnership with the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) hosted an informational workshop that provided information about the National Registry of Historic Places, historic districts, benefits and requirements of a district, and services related to the program including tax incentive and grants. Over 20 people were in attendance including business owners, building owners and elected city officials. KFDA will continue to host community informational workshops in the fall so together we can decide if a historical designation is a good fit for our community.

Festival Recap Thank you to everyone that attended our first summer festival of the season, Celebrate the Blues. It was warmly received and we had close to 1,700 people in attendance. We had an array of vendors showcasing everything from delicious sandwiches and tacos to fun photo booths, live music, a beer and wine garden, and arts and crafts. If you attended, please email downtownklamathfalls@gmail.com with your event feedback. 2
