Hitchhiking was legalised and formalised in Poland in 1957. Hitchhikers could buy booklets including coupons from travel agencies. These coupons were given to drivers who took hitchhikers. By the end of each season drivers who collected the highest number of coupons could exchange them for prizes and others took part in a lottery. This so-called “Akcja Autostop” was popular till the end of the 1970s, but the sale of the booklet was discontinued in 1995 Nowadays hitchiking it no so popular like 60-70`s, but sometimes You can pick up somebody who shake the hand on the road. People who wants to spend travel wiht

other people, who dont be in hurry can enjoying the trip. Meetings drivers who often be helpfully are wonderful it is the way to dialog with different section of society. Sometimes this dialogs make relationships between interlocutors, somethimes they offer meall or accomodation.. But you alwes feel free it is not a problem to pitch a tent next to the lake, sleep on the bench, dependent of situation. This kind of transport is occurs around the world, in places where nobody knew about it people stop because they want to help you and they dont knew what you need when you shake hand. Probably the best connection is couple of friends, sometimes is quickly when you travel alone, no rules – just smile to the sky, belive and go forward.
