Words of Advice William S. Burroughs on the Road

Lars Movin & Steen Møller Rasmussen

Denmark, 2007, 74 min.

The idea of making a film about the American writer William S. Burroughs (1914-97) came to us during the making of another documentary, Onkel Danny – portræt af en Karma Cowboy (2002), a portrait of the Danish writer and cult figure Dan Turèll (1946-93). We knew that Burroughs was one of Turèll’s literary heroes, and during our research we discovered that the only encounter between the two men (in Copenhagen on October 29th 1983) had been documented on video. The tapes, however, had been missing for more than twenty years. We set out searching for them, and what we found was much more than we could ever have imagined – ten video tapes with more than three hours of recordings, altogether a historic document which also in an international context was quite sensational. Rather than just incorporating small fragments of the material in our portrait of Turèll we decided to keep it secret for the time being and then at a later time unfold the material more thoroughly in a separate film. In 2003 we travelled to the United States, to New York and Lawrence, Kansas, where we shot new material to create a framework for the historic footage. On this trip we interviewed a number of people, among them John Giorno, poet and director of the record company Giorno Poetry Systems, and James Grauerholz, secretary for Burroughs for the last twenty years of his life and today in charge of his literary estate. Both were close friends of Burroughs, and both were members of his entourage during the Copenhagen visit in 1983. Our aim with the film has first and foremost been to preserve the excellent historic recordings of Burroughs and to make them available for a wide audience. And then we hope to give some insights into Burroughs’ unique talent as a performer, and to offer some tools to enter this vastly interesting, but also complex and at times quite demanding oeuvre.

Lars Høeg, painter, born 1958, lives and works in Copenhagen. Studies at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts 1981-88. Has had many solo shows and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Denmark and abroad. Lived and worked in Berlin for six months in 1997; and in 2000 he held a special grant in a studio apartment in Prenzlauer Berg. An accomplished artist he has paid numerous visits to Berlin since 1997.

“Berlin 1997” - notes Berlin has a grip on me – sinister and gloomy – I follow my girlfriend, a Norwegian artist, spontaneously – we live in a rented one room apartment with a chimney in Wedding – deadlines to keep: solo shows to be held in Copenhagen – she works in the living room; I work in the kitchen – paintings in progress – china thrown against the walls and each other – Potsdamer Platz being an excavation and a building site – the air has a scent of coal – nervous and anxious – Richtung Ruhleben – I find myself in a vast studio in Neukölln – the only available in Künstlerhaus Mengerzeile – sleeping on a table, reading Mann’s “Faust” by candlelight.

“Træf”, 2014, watercolour, 29,5 x 42 cm.

Lars Høeg’s works for this year’s Soup depict the subconscious and ‘subterraneans’ of Berlin.

This Irish born sculptor lives in Denmark and works primarily in wood and stone. His sculptures are a journey through light and dark, shape and space, a sublime mix between the obvious and the hidden. A silent story to be told. McKenna’s work represents a play between the masculine and the feminine. Under his hands the sculptures become sensual and invite the viewer to sense and seek with hand and eye. Inspiration and theme vary depending on his meeting with the material, place and people. A simple word can spark the process. It’s all about listening, listening to inner and outer sound. The artist’s subconscious conscious movement is expressed through abstraction and symbolism. A sculpture is born. In essence McKenna is a storyteller. His sculptures change character depending on whichever way they are viewed. Expect the unexpected.

Anastasija

Anastasija's works are mainly sculptural three-dimensional characters spirits of nature elements forests, water, air, earth or energy from parallel worlds, where nothing is ruled by humans, but exists in its natural way self-organized by spirituality, harmony and sensuality. ’I can’t define, where those images are coming from, they just appear by themselves from the depth of my heart’. Octavian Neagu has lived & worked in Copenhagen since 1990. – 42914457 – octavian_re@yahoo.dk

His debut exhibition, and the first on the streets of Bucharest, was with the Danish artist E.A. Frandsen. The exhibition was taken by an art gallery in Lyons and he was invited to exhibit in Gallery Specta in Denmark, going on to study at the Royal Danish Art Academy in Copenhagen.

Reacting to the political climate, during the year of his graduation, he found himself on the streets with others fighting the dictatorship.

Octavian’s first conceptual art action was as a 5 year old when he modelled a baby cow from the cheese his mother gave him for breakfast. And when he drew a portrait on the mirror with her lipstick she, convinced he belonged there, sent him straight off to art school.

Born 1965 in Ploiesti, Romania, he belongs to that country’s sacrificed generation. And visual art, a vehicle of spiritual survival and weapon against oppression was his means of expression during the cold war and the dictatorial epoch of Eastern Europe.

Octavian Neagu exhibited at BERLIN SOUP 2013 & 14.

THE LOVE FOR MUSIC IS INFINITE SO INFINITE AS THE SPACE AROUND US AND AROUND THE SPACE FEELINGs AND SOUNDs The present mood came from the MOIST and cool/coldness of the scandinavian weather. It’s making a creative, intuitive and a polite move on you that intersects with the flat and matte vision of the urban landscape and... it gives a sharp response in return. Since 2012 Copenhagen is for me, at least, the “nest” for minimalistic underground electronic dance scene. From Torino, Italy, I gained and confirmed my music addiction by the time I was 17. In 1999 I moved in Timisoara, Romania, known for the clubbing scene. Here, I started a very big passion for analog synthesizers pared with midi tools. The experience transposed into an electronic dark tribal beat with elegant hints of a sizzling jazzy techno, well seasoned with dub, matched by deep harmonic chords, all laid out on to a floor-friendly intriguing rhythm. Two of my big inspirations are jazz and ambiental ethnic music. They came from my collaborations and marked my ear for folk, tribal grooves, heartbeat induced grooves, spiritual shamanic music and a lot of deep inner soul disection.

HOWLING LIKE VIRGINIA WOLF SEARCHING FOR A NEW LANGUAGE VIDEO ARTARCHY PERFORMANCE work-in-progress by JESPER DALMOSE & LENNOX RAPHAEL

SOMETHING DAZZLES; THE RIGHTFULTHIEF STARES IN DISBELIEF. THAT LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL IS A FUNNEL THRU WHICH LIFE POURS ITS EFFERVESCENCE. I DIDN*T JUST WANT TO WRITE, I SOT TO INVENT A LANGUAGE THAT WOULD BYPASS EXPECTATIONS. I SPENT ALL DAY, FOR EXAMPLE, AS A SAMPLE OF SINCERITY, KILLING SPIDERS & EATING SNOW. I ATE MY WAY TO CHINA & WAS STILL HUNGRY FOR PROSE, AS EVERYONE KNOWS. I ATE A HANDFULL OF MOSQUITOES. THE TASTE OF LANGUAGE WAS BITTER. THE BITTERNESS OF GOD WAS A DEVILISH EXPERIENCE. I STOPPED BEING THE IMPOSSIBLE. EVERY REGRET WAS AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL. I STOPPED BEING WHAT WAS & WHAT WAS NOT. I GAVE IN TO IMPULSES & BEGUN TO WONDER WHERE WRITING WAS GOING AT THAT UNGODLY HOUR OF MY FLIGHT FROM A PRISON OF PERFECTION. I KNELT IN THE HOUSE OF THE SOUL & ATE A MOUSE. INNOCENCE WAS MORAL PREJUDICE. I STEPPED ON MY IMAGINATION & HAD AN ICE COLD DRINK OF TEARDROPS. I SERVED CHAMPAGNE & CURRIED ICECREAM TO MY DAUGHTER’S BIRDS. I BLAMED GENEROSITY FOR THE STATE OF WRITING. SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING WORTH READING, I HAD FOUND YOU. SUICIDE WOULD HELP ME DECIDE. I STOOD ON A SEMI-COLON & PASSED A DECLARATIVE SENTENCE AROUND MY NECK. I WAS ON THE VERGE OF GENIUS. CONCEPTS OF DIVINITY OUT OF THE QUESTION, I HAD ONLY TO HOWL LIKE VIRGINIA WOOLF. I AWOKE THEN FROM THE SLEEP OF LITERATURE

From the poetryvideo Howling like Virginia Woolf text Lennox Raphael – Sound Alex Choub – Camera + edit Jesper Dalmose

TO FIND MYSELF RUNNING THRU HELL, & KNEW BETTER NOT TO STOP, OR TURN BACK. WOULD I WRITE THEREFORE OF HOW I FELT RATHER THAN WHAT I REMEMBERED OF THE FIRE OF IMAGINATION STRIPPING MY FLESH TO THE BONES? I SPENT THE WHOLE WEEK TRYING TO SWAT A FLY & WONDERED WHY WRITING CELEBRATES DISTANCES BETWEEN MEANING & OBSOLESENCE, BETWEEN REALITY & REPLICATION, BETWEEN SADNESS & PASSION, BETWEEN TENTACLE & MIRACLE, BETWEEN VISION & SURRENDER, BETWEEN THE DEVIL & THE DEEP BLUE ME. I WENT BACK TO KILLING TIME. LIKE SPIDERS, I SOT INFINITIES OF THE PAST & INFINITIES OF THE FUTURE IN THE WEB OF REFLECTIONS. WRITING & DESPAIR WERE IRREVERSIBLE. IN THE WILDERNESS, I FOUND A LANGUAGE AGAINST MEANING & A WORLD SO SACRED IT COULD NOT BE IMPROVED BY APPLAUSE OR REMORSE – THEN, FOR NO REASON, I COULD NOT STOP COUGHING. THE POSSIBILITY OF TEMPTATION REFLECTED A MIXTURE OF ENCHANTMENT & INDIFFERENCE. WRITING HAD BECOME THE SECRET OF AMBIGUITY. I BEGUN TO FORGET LANGUAGE & ITS COMPLICITIES. I READ A POEM TO MY RABBIT, I READ A POEM TO A SPIDER; & LANGUAGE APPEARS & DISAPPEARS, & MEANS NOTHING, &, AS NOTHING, EVERYTHING; & WRITING GUSHES FROM THE SPRING OF LIFE; A COMMA KICKS THE SEMI-COLON, I FALL ON MY SWORD, & THE EFFERVERSENCE OF WHICH WE SPEAK EMBRACES & BEWITCHES. I LOOKED IN THE EYES OF GOD & SAW THE DEATH OF LITERATURE,

THE BEGINNING OF WRITING AS A DEAD ART, THE END OF MEANING. MY MIND IS CUT UP & SCATTERED ON THE RIVER OF MEMORY, THE ANONYMOUS ANONYMOUSE PRESENCE OF REGRET; OUT OF CONFUSION A RICHNESS OF SOLITUDE; OUT OF SOLITUDE THE REBIRTH OF EXHAUSTION, & I WRITE & WRITE, &, PURSUED BY HAPPINESS, PASS THRU ONE UNDERWORLD TO THE NEXT, UNTIL I CAN WRITE NO MORE, AS MAN OR WOLF, & THAT SAME LIGHT, AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, IS DARKNESS, UNSURPASSABLE BEAUTY OF SILENCE, ABSENCE AS REVOLUTION; & I WAS ALONE, & BESET BY EXPECTATIONS. DESTINED TO KNOW THE CLASSICAL MUSIC OF THE MOSQUITO, I CHOSE TO WRITE NO MORE & TO BEGIN ALL OVER AGAIN; & AGAIN; LIKE PAIN; TO INTERRUPT THE GAZE OF POETRY, & HISTORY; &, MEANWHILE, HOWLING LIKE VIRGINIA’S WOLF, FIND HARMONY IN THE CRUELTY OF STYLE, THE SHALLOWNESS OF INSPIRATION, THE IMPOSSIBLENESS OF LOVE, THE FUTURE OF THE PAST, THE JOY OF DOUBT, &, BY BEING LIGHT, DELIGHT AS, CAUGHT IN THE TRAP I SET, CRITICISM WAVES GOODBYE TO A ROSE WHOSE PETALS ARE MAGIC CARPETS TAKING WORDS & STRANDS OF FEAR TO A BONFIRE OF COMPLIMENTS. I HEAR MYSELF HOWLING IN THE END WHERE WE BEGIN TO SEE EVERYTHING, WRITE EVERYTHING, PUBLISH EVERYTHING BE EVERYONE, DREAM EVERYONE & HEAR AGAIN THE WOOF*WOOF*WOOF OF GOD.

Central to the performance, is the significance of place, a complex visual game emerging from cartographically programmed bodies and geographically influenced sound-bytes, via individual neuron-synaptic stimuli, encompassing word-dots, to form lines in a 2_3D visual space, which with minimalistic tension, ties an aesthetic archetypal moving language, primordial territory, and virtual sound.

Kære Jesper + lennox, Hermed sender jeg min korrespondance B omkring den forestående begivenhed kan bruges som dokumentation for det fint input til kataloget. Jeg tror at

If you have some picture of yourself you would like to present then mail it to me. I talked to Doris and she imagines making some instant drawings that correspond to the sounds she will hear or receive someway. She will be moving around or maybe just drawing on an ipad, then the picture can be probably projected from the ceiling onto the floor. Also my performance photos are OK. But I it would be intereston makeup or something

All the best, – Tomomi On 23 Jan 2015, at 19:01, Olga Magieres wrote: I like the idea of yours, "Falling from the cloud of whisper" is good too. I`ve sent the picture Doris made in Ireland at a performance two years ago. The picture could be used as well in a catalogue or maybe as a background for us, but many other pictures could do as well. Whispering performance, sounds good to me, whisper and silence. Olga On 22 January 2015 at 18:33, ADACHI Tomomi wrote: Hi Olga, The idea for the individual sounds should be interesting: we three are placed separately in the space and the audience can approach us freely, then we each make some continuous drone-like sounds, (but not necessary so). Hi Tomomi, Doris is coming in person and I told her about you and she is very interested in your work. Today at a short meeting with me she mentioned her idea about producing (or discovering) an individual sound (like individual smell) for every single person, so one could recognize one by his very discreet sound.I thought this idea might be amusing and inspiring for you. Well, so maybe the title for our performance could be: "my notebook of sounds"? Or "dancing in a cloud of whisper"? My art practice exploits a structure found in nature known as the Golden Ratio. The shapes and proportions of my sculptures are configured within a matrix created by the Golden Ratio.

Howard M c

The proportion known as the Golden Ratio represents the natural order of life. It is a gift from nature that has always existed in mathematics and in natural structures. Its amazing proportional balance has implications for numerous natural formations ranging from the shape of a leaf, to the design of seashells, and to the structure of crystals. These divine proportions rouse a feeling of awe, and opens to a spiritual consciousness. The height to width of the Golden Rectangle is equal to the Golden Ratio. The elegance of this system and its association with aesthetics articulate a program that can be applied to art artworks. Over several decades, my interest in the aesthetic potential of the natural forces of life has grown. Serendipitously, through years of experimentation and a gradual turning towards the physical world of nature, my practice has extended to the wisdom represented in the natural history. The diversity of natural phenomena in the universe reveals an immense variety of forms. The multiplicity of these forms represents the natural (creative) process of mutation and selection. To exploit this blessing: I use near primary colors, and configure my forms within a matrix created by the Golden Ratio. This practice, in a sense, preserves the principle that art making is concerned with discovery.

TOWER OF CONSUMPTION installation *That was 2008 when Julia Balukevica & Julia Juzefovica first met. *Ms.Balukevica was, and still is, an obsessive coffee lover & Ms.Juzefovica loves tea with equal passion; but, despite these differences, they quickly became friends. Both in high school back in 2008, they were thinking what to do next in their lives. Like many young Latvians, they decided to seek their fortunes abroad. Julia, the tea lover, could not even wait until graduation, and went to London (where else to if you love tea?) in 2009 to study graphic design & media. Julia, who prefers coffee, was more patient, and went a year later to Copenhagen to study Multimedia Design & Technology and E-concept Development. By that time, Julia in London zeroed in on English literature & started working as a journalist. Nowadays, Julia in Denmark pursues a career in the art world at ARTKEMI GALLERI while Julia the Londoner plans soon to switch from journalism to advertising.

"we buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like" In 2014 our adventurous Julias took part in the New Blood creative competition and worked on the ad campaign for the World Wild Life Foundation(WWF). Drinking coffee and tea, Julias & discovering the serious & challenging problem of overconsumption. So, for this year’s ‘Berlin Soup’, their short-movie criticizes the OVERCONSUMPTION fueled by websites like Amazon and eBay. And to show we can all tackle the problem of overconsumption, Julias wrote one biography for both of them, instead of creating two. Yes, "we buy things we don't need with money we don*t have to impress people we don*t like" (from “The Fight Club”, Chuck Palahniuk’s 1996 take on the rise of consumerism. Aimlessly spending ‘invisible’ credit card cash in a Digital Age on things we don*t need. Click once/twice, the plastic newstyle massive over-consumption of goods. Especially in Western countries. Accelerated manufacturing & production BIG*boosting greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere. KILLING OURSELVES NOISILY. Buy, but use only once. Or, for that matter, never at all. Think therefore SOLUTION: how “Share” buttons on Amazon & eBay would allow users to share instead of buy. Imagine, hundreds of storages where, for a small daily fee, one could borrow – from drills to extra chairs for the Saturday night party. To afterwards return to storage until the next customer decides to borrow. ONE WAY to combat compulsive overconsumption & mindless non-stop purchases we seldom/never use, and are often too busy buying to even open the deliveries. Our brand new short movie gives u the TOWER OF CONSUMPTION installation, and 2Julias4one!

Diego Castro, born 1972 in Hannover, is a SpanishGerman Artist, living in Berlin. He studied Studio arts in Germany and France and art theory/critical & curatorial studies in Switzerland. His work is based on the idea of political art. Coming from a conceptual art background, he went from performance art to the use of rather conventional media and investigated its potential after the grinding halt of the avant-gardes and neo-academism in conceptual art. In the last decade, he founded a radical art movement, called the "Immaterialist International", whose work consisted in an analogue adaption of the idea of radical sharing found in alternative digital copyrights such as "creative commons" and "copyleft". The movement took a radical stand against the art-market, refusing the production of original art-work and hence only exhibiting copies, free to be copied. Also, pamphletism would be an integral part of the group's work, who wrote many manifestos. Today Diego Castro uses mainly drawings and painting, which he arranges in installations to explore and experiment with its potential to formulate critique, often relating to actual image politics and historical revisionism.

RAHUL AMIN

Born in Bangladesh & living in Denmark since 1986, Kajol is cannonized in the Swedish Guinness Book of Records as maker of the world's biggest street painting. Kajol takes street art to the level of social participation making his mark in society rather than on it. Since early 90's as computers emerged in our daily lives Kajol, aware of time and world, saw how we are all bound to the creation of a personal word or pincode. Seeing a new time on its way, he started creating words such as – ›Cold Fire 1996‹, ›Democrazy 1999‹, ›Killigeon 2000‹, ›Evilization 2008‹, ›Devilupper 2009‹, ›Conpiratua 2013‹ – for his series of artworks.

Chris Calmer works with many medias such as painting, graphics & film, which he incorporates in his work with photography. Calmer artdirects all his work himself. His way of working with contrasts is visible in his way of uniting often unrelated subjects. Calmer’s process is done by uniting subject a subject b and subject c into something 3 dimensional & magical. Calmer’s aesthetic can be described as cinematic * melancholic * minimalistic * surrealistic *

 Robin  Hansen

Robin Wildt Hansen, half-English, halfDanish, has written two novels of magical elements. He wrote his first novel, I hver vores skyttegrav, in Danish, because it is a critique of Danish culture. He wrote his newest novel, The World, in English, and launched it in December 2014 in San Francisco. Robin is now coming to Berlin to launch this metaphysical novel, which illustrates the spiritual initiation of a young man by a journey through the Tarot cards. Robin has spent the last three years travelling from city to city while writing. He currently resides in Bucharest, and is working on the biography of a Brazilian shaman. He plans to finish this next autumn. For him, shamanism and initiation are highly relevant topics today. Our society has banished them from serious discourse, but that has not removed the need for them to be addressed. Every day people are born who will develop a shamanic initiatory crisis. Robin says that it was a monumental discovery for him that in the modern cities of Brazil, as well as in many other countries, there is an abundance of elaborate initiations going on.

Born in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, he began playing piano at 6 & bass at 16, and hasn't looked back since attending the Krasnoyarsk School of Music & playing in the city's Philharmonic. By the end of the 80's, celebrated in the Russian heavy rock music scene and, for his playing in AMALGAMA, the heavy punk band, his bass genius had become an essential feature on many albums. In Copenhagen since 1992, first with the band DISORDER, Alex has over the years to this day played live & recorded with artists such as Debbie Cameron, Vladmir Chekasin, Luther Thomas, Soyka ViSix, Peter Mossman, Secret Cinema, and Jorge Molina. – building claymountain on repeat.

The performance is based on the myth of the Tower of Babel. The artist, henrik leander, examines the relationship between human activity and the creation of the world, in sound and matter, and it's back effect on us. The creation of Babel is a constant reproduction and mirroring. A materialization of our ideas and our understanding. Babel is materialized zeitgeist. An extension of the mind and body. Created in our image. The process, which includes sound and rhythm, examines how sound affect us and the environment. The performance is based on the ancient pottery tradition and its material, clay. one of the oldest crafts that people have used throughout history to create the world and surroundings. The performance explores and questions the creation of Babel when the artist, interacting with the audience builds a tower of clay and sound. Performance includes real sound, clay, body, miscellaneous tools etc. Henrik Leander works as a visual artist and industrial designer. Duration 1 hour.

Participants will have the chance to expend and explore new horizons, and to understand and strengthen his/her intimate connection to one’s instrument of choice. The workshop will be based on movement research tasks, with and without instrument, aiming at developing different skills concerning the art of performance in general, and especially for musicians. As a result one would be better prepared for a rapid changing world where one is called upon to demonstrate different skills & creativity beyond the traditional musician’s “job”. Method of work The Workshop is composed of 3 parts: 1. Introduction to” The integrated instrument”: experimenting with composition and choreography will be introduced in order to emphasize the connection between music and dance. The first part will be dedicated to physical warm-up, emphasising posture, body awareness, mobility, and dynamics of movement.

2. The journey begins: a process of estimating & observing will take place. Themes of trust and communication with one’s own instrument and others in physical and non-physical ways would be explored. 3. Into the horizon: Based on the learned tasks and exercises from the previous chapters, Rewriting one's own story and expressing it through movement and sound while being encouraged to keep exploring and developing, allowing space and time for each participant to use his/her imagination, skills and tools to create personal ways of expression & being. 20 Euro

From Nørreport station the sign lights up the twilight sky, the red neon sign on the hotel front says  : ›Hotel‹, letting tourists and Copenhageners know that a little further down right after the food market, Ibsens Hotel is found.

The social streetpaper strassenfeger is edited by the registered society mob – odachlose machen mobil e.V (mob – homeless mobilize). The main principle of strassenfeger is: We offer help for selfhelp! The strassenfeger, published 26 times annually, is produced by a team of voluntary authors from all social classes. Selling the strassenfeger offers homeless and poor people a possibility to work on their own rules. They get a vendor’s legitimation, which they have to show on demand. The vendors decide, where and when they offer the strassenfeger. The price for one newspaper is 1,50 Euro, 0,90 Euro are benefit for the vendors, 60 Cents earns the society for the production. By selling the strassenfeger the society mob e.V. funds social projects as emergency sleepover “A roof over the head” and the social meeting place “Kaffee Bankrott”. The society doesn’t get any governmental support.

Birth of

BERLIN SOUP

1996 Kulturfabrikken, in Amager, Copenhagen Lennox and Jesper first met at Kulturfabrikken, now Fabrikken for Kunst & Design, in 1996 where Jesper curated a one week workshop on food art together with Rune Fjord Jensen. Lennox participated with, among other things, a piano piece starring a beautiful wellformed naked beauty eating grapes & bananas on top of the piano during the closingdinner. Lennox & Jesper both knew some day in the future they would start working together. August 2011 The seed of Letters from Berlin : Walkies & Talkies : and BERLIN SOUP started its journey in the light of a rainy augustevening under a bombshelter in the yard of the Artspace DADAPOST founded 2009 by Howard McCalebb. Here Lennox and Jesper did an Optipist openingperformance under the blue / white doubleumbrella. When Lennox saw Jespers videoinstallation of Walking men under umbrellas, he fell in love with the magic & said he would like to take a walk & talk under an umbrella in front of Brandenburger Tor SOME DAY October 2012 SOME DAY – BERLIN – JULY IN OCTOBER became 5 beautiful and heartworking walkie talkie days of July in October – Which turned to be long inspiring walkings through the history of blood, suffering, pain, hope, beauty moments of the 20th century European history & inspirational pitstops in the company of Chris Calmer, Silke Calmer, and Anna Fink… That last evening in town Lennox and Jesper biked around Wedding and, as they passed one empty shop after another, decided to have a releaseparty & their DVD : Letters from Berlin : ›Walkies & Talkies‹ in one of these some time in the future. Then Howard heard of their plan and invited them to come to DADAPOST. December 2012

BERLIN SOUP was named under the legendary Star of the upside down hanging Christmas tree in Library Bar at Hotel Plaza a slushy dark Sunday afternoon in the beginning of December 2012 in Copenhagen. We, Alex Choub from Siberia, Lennox Raphael from everywhere and Jesper Dalmose from Copenhagen were sitting talking about the coming ARTevent in DadaPost, Berlin, in May / June 2013 as Ideas and imaginations sparkled in the beauty of the brightlighting Star bidding welcome to the Future. Alex exclaimed ! ! what a Soup ! ! and Lennox & Jesper both said at once : ! ! ! What a Berlin Soup ! ! ! C'est Cá and BERLIN

SOUP was born.

May/June 2013 – The first
