TRANSDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE

TRANSDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE ON TOMORROW'S MOBILITY

HOW DO WE WANT TO BE MOBILE AND LIVE IN THE FUTURE?

"The guiding principles of the car-oriented and function-oriented city have determined the premises of urban planning for many decades. Against the backdrop of global technological developments in digitalisation, artificial intelligence and energy storage, we are now on the threshold of a "mobility-friendly" city that will open up completely new possibilities for us to design a sustainable and liveable city. With polisMOBILITY, we want to accompany this change and be a partner in the dialogue between business, science, politics and urban society." – Prof. Johannes Busmann, publisher of polis Magazine & initiator of annual polis Convention.

From 18 to 21 May 2022, Koelnmesse, in cooperation with the polis Magazine for Urban Development & polis Convention, will therefore be holding a transdisciplinary conference. The guiding question: "How do we want to live and be mobile in the future?”

At a wide-ranging specialist conference on the Koelnmesse trade fair grounds, polisMOBILITY will host a dialogue between stakeholders from the fields of public policy, urban and transport planning, research and economy. Together, they will propose solutions to the crucial questions arising from the need for a sustainable and successful mobility transition in our cities and regions. The polisMOBILITY conference programme spans a broad spectrum of topics ranging from technological developments, such as autonomous and connected mobility and new drive technologies, to the transformation of the automobile and automotive sector and issues in urban and transport planning all the way through to questions concerning citizen participation.

150 international speakers

Around 150 renowned speakers from Germany and abroad have taken up the invitation to engage in an active and constructive exchange of ideas. At the polisMOBILITY Conference, they will discuss the issues, needs, challenges and solutions in the context of the transformation of cities and regions due to urbanisation, climate change and digitalisation as these communities seek to realise a vision of human-centred mobility. Themunicipal focus in the consideration of technological topics is the guiding theme of polisMOBILITY. The contributions from private-sector actors provide a view into market dynamics and technological developments as a basis for forecasts and planning for municipal representatives. The discussion rounds, keynote speeches, panels and workshops will provide information about possible applications and potentials of mobility technologies and solutions in the urban context and are intended to lead to a shared understanding of future-oriented development.
