Rule 1: Students should not be on their phones unless during the tech break.

Cell Phones are distracting to both the user and the other students.

If students stay off their phones at the end of the week they will get a longer tech break.

The class will lose the use of the tech break for the rest of the week.

Implementation: I would go over them during the first class and get some input from the students. They then come into effect after the discussion.

Rule 2: Homework needs to be handed in on time.

Students are given sufficient time both in class and at home.

Given a star that goes on their chart.

Will lose marks on the assignment.

How decided upon? Some input from the students, but mostly from experience.

Rule 3: After Lunch or when the Teacher is not in the room Students must be quietly reading.

Students should be Given a star that using their free time goes on their wisely and reading chart. is a good way to not disrupt other classes.

No consequences other than they do not receive a star.

Who informed? Parents: will be given the rules in a newsletter that they have to sign. Students: rules will be discussed and then posted in the room.

Rule 4: Respect your fellow Students and Teachers.

Every classroom needs to have respect to run smoothly.

If exception respect is shown student will receive a star.

If the situation of disrespect is sever they will have to go to the principal’s office.

Exceptional behavior will be rewarded with a star.

Will have to stay in after class to clean up.

Additional Info: Tech break => 1 minute in class where the students are allowed to be on their phones. Stars => will go on a chart that the students can save up for prizes like candy or getting the teacher’s chair for a day.
