The Legend L-series has ED Prime glass and an eyepiece diopter setting which doesn’t move accidentally because of an integrated system that keeps it in place. The Legend M series is the best and has a dielectric prism coating which gives a 92% light transmission. This gives it a maximum brightness and clarity. Bushnell raises the bar once again with the Legend E, L and M. There are truly great value/money and are available in both 8 x 42 and 10 x 42.
MAKE FIRE You can use a lighter or match to start fire. However, do you want something that will always work? Use a firestarter. A firestarter works under extreme conditions and will last a long long time. You only need three things: a flammable substance (tinder), the firestarter and a knife or scraper. 1. Find good tinder to start your fire. Strips of birch bark are great. As an alternative, you can also use wood shavings with resin.

Place the firestarter in a 45 degree angle to your tinder. As a result, sparks will directly fly towards the tinder.
Scrape down with slight pressure. This way you will create the miracle called fire!

EDEN PROFESSIONAL SHARPENING SET Dull blades are a disaster and totally useless! That’s why I sharpen my knives with sharpening stones.
I
t can take a little while to get the hang of it, but when you've mastered the basics a whole new world opens!
My personal favourite is the Eden Professional sharpening set. From coarse sharpening on the 220-stone to polishing on the 5000-stone. One complete set with which dull blades will be a thing of the past. I get excited when I have transformed a dull blade to a razor-sharp edge again! The set comes with a universal foot and dressing stone which is really convenient. The foot keeps the stone from slipping and the dressing stone cleans the sharpening surface after use.

SILKY GOMBOY 210 HAND SAW By Dutch Bushcraft Knives

e have always been fan of Silky and were very excited when we got the opportunity to review the Silky Gomboy 210 hand saw. The Gomboy is the most compact member of the Silky family. With a closed length of only 21 cm you can imagine how easy the saw can be carried around.
Multifunctional This saw is really suitable for anything. For mountain bikers to cut branches, during survival to gather wood for a camp fire, or just your regular gardening. This convenient saw can go in any direction! The rubber handle is very comfortable to hold and a solid lock keeps the saw blade securely in place. The saw teeth are hardened and retain their sharpness really well. The Silky Gomboy is a whipsaw, so let IT do all the work!

We saw what Silky could do We compared the Silky saw with a hand saw from the local hardware store. The test consists of a 'saw-race' in which we started to saw at the same time. The Silky wins this test gloriously. It is striking how little effort it takes to use Silky. In combination with the ergonomic grip, you won’t get tired. Its performance is impressive! Cutting a reasonably thick block of wood costs the Silky 48 seconds. The other saw takes 1 minute and 28 seconds. After using it we were way more tired and our hands got a little sore!
The Silky Gomboy is a whipsaw, so let IT do all the work! Conclusion We conclude that the Silky Gomboy 210 an extremely convenient and ergonomic hand saw and its performance is impressive. It’s the best we ever saw!

SHARPEN A BREAD KNIFE Sharp bread knives cut effortlessly through hard bread crusts without crushing the soft bread. Eventually every knife gets blunt and sharpening becomes inevitable.
It is important first to understand how a bread knife is sharpened. The serrations are often on one side of the blade. On this side you need to sharpen the most.

With a ceramic sharpener you keep the most control over sharpening. This gets you through all the serrations one by one. By keeping the rod on an angle you can sharpen quickly. You will find the correct angle by trying it out a little. You can feel when it really has effect.
Afterwards you slowly move the rod over the other side of the knife to remove the burrs. This side can be done in one smooth motion. Your bread knife will be in great condition to devour bread after bread after bread!
