BÖKER STRAIGHT RAZORS

When Knivesandtools asked me to test a new razor blade I was, of course, excited to give it a go. As soon as I got my hands on the Böker Straight Razor I got to work.
The Böker straight razors have a luxurious and unique look and, for me, working with them was a remarkable and authentic experience. I could easily imagine what my great-, great-, great-, great-, grandfather must have felt while he was using a similar knife. These knives definitely make me relive the old craftsmanship of the past.
In addition to the fact that they look stunning, it is great that you can easily sharpen these straight razors and end up with a razor-sharp blade. Of course key for perfectly smooth results. The blade, however, is broad which makes it a little tricky to properly shave in between the nose and upper lip without hurting the customer. So be careful and make sure you use the knife properly.
A straight razor requires some maintenance: it needs to be sharpened occasionally. But that doesn’t outweigh the fact that it is simply an amazing razor to work with! I truly recommend it. Approved!
