MCUSTA MC-122D TACTILITY The knife I carry daily should look amazing. Of course I don’t want to make any concessions on quality. The Mcusta MC-122D Tactility has it all: this is a razor-sharp, traditional knife with a luxurious feel.

custa knives are made in Japan. The cool thing about Mcusta's is that they are made with modern techniques, but the knives are still finished by hand. This way they can guarantee consistent quality with a great eye for detail. You immediately notice the quality when you take this razor-sharp knife out of the box. The knife has the amazing drawing of
the damast but the performance of VG10 steel. The handles are made of rosewood which contrasts nicely with the beautiful damast. Thanks to the deep-carry pocket clip the knife disappears deep inside your pocket. Almost a pity to keep such a beauty out of sight!

SHARPENING WITH A SHARPENING ROD For daily maintenance on your knife a sharpening rod is ideal. It hardly takes any time and you will immediately have a sharp knife again! But how do you use a sharpening rod? This is how to use it safely.

Put the rod tip-down on a flat surface.
Now pull the knife in a smooth motion towards you, without applying any pressure. Make sure you get the full length of the edge along the length of the rod. Repeat this movement about 5 to 10 times per side of the blade. Your knife is now sharp and ready for the next job!
2. Place the knife in the right angle on the rod. European knives are sharpened to a 20 degree angle and for Japanese knives this is about 15 degrees. Always start with the heel of the blade on rod.

After a couple of swings I took down a small spruce. Then began the real job: chopping down the stem to proper size. Thanks to the low weight and small head you’ll be able to use it very precisely. Time and time again you hit the same spot effortlessly. Splitting has never been so easy. After this heavy task the edge was still surprisingly sharp! I was still able to make some nice feathersticks. Also, cutting tomatoes, onions, carrots and chicken was no problem after the heavy duty. The softer, tough steel is easy to sharpen and can take a true beating. The Felling Axe Classic is an excellent all-round axe for bushcraft, survival, camping, hiking or just to use in the garden. SPLIT WOOD 1. First, make sure the head is tightly secured on the handle. Check how sharp it is by hitting the axe against the wood softly. When it stays put inside the wood, you have a sharp axe!
3. Search for cracks in the block of wood because that’s where you want to strike with your axe. Aim on the tear in the wood, but keep close to the edge so the block will break easier.
2. The security check. Create a little space around you. Is the chopping block not higher than your knees and placed on a solid surface? Of course you are wearing good gloves and safety shoes.
4. Make sure your feet are in the right position. Pull your hand backwards from the axe head to the position where your other hand is. At the same time you lift your axe and start chopping! It may be that the axe stays stuck inside the wood, but then you can remove it with a wedge. Did it work? Now take on the next block!

Cutting with the Eden Dento knives means cutting at the highest level. This is due to the razor-sharp, thin edge. hat have we here? It is the Lansky Master's Edge! I have tested it and was really surprised by the simplicity of it.
When unpacking the Master’s Edge you immediately notice the sturdy holder with hand guard. It includes four round rods, two coarse and two fine, and a triangular rod to use on serrated knives.
After I had read the manual it turned out to be super simple. How does this seemingly intricate tool work? After I had read the manual it turned out to be super simple. Just place the rods in the holder and make
a few cutting motions alongside them. And that’s it! Your knives will be razor-sharp again. Easy as that. The rods may look a little fragile to you, especially when you are used to the width of a sharpening steel. But the way they are placed inside the holder makes them really feel sturdy. You don’t even need to apply pressure when using it. When I had sharpened my knives and stowed all separate parts inside the Master’s Edge, I became aware of how easy the whole process had been. I can really recommend this Lansky to anyone who wants to sharpen their knives quickly and to a really sharp result.
