THE LOCAL BARBER AND SHOP
My husband and I established The Local Barber and Shop In 2015 in uptown. The idea behind our brand was to create local community. A place that people can come to and unwind, grab a beer, connect and walk out feeling and looking good. Services provided are haircuts, beard trims and hot towel shaves. Each of the barbers are highly trained and experts at their craft. The experience is that anyone in a barber chair has a consultation so that we can create the cut and style our clients look for.
The Local Barber and Shop is growing in the community with a second location that opened in 2018 in downtown Phoenix. Our goal is to continue to grow our presence and give back to the community.

She and her husband Kendall bought MAS in 1998, bringing their innovative brand of hairdressing to Phoenix. Being a dedicated Bumble and bumble salon, they work closely with the NY based company bringing you the latest in hair care and fashion. Education is engrained in the MAS culture; all their stylists go through an intensive 12-24-month apprentice program before working on clients. Beate teaches and oversees the color training. Annual education trips domestically and internationally ensure their clients have the latest styles and techniques. Beate devotes much of her time to improving her community. One of her many philanthropic efforts is Beauty to the RESCUE. A fundraiser MAS began 18 years ago raising over $320,000 for local non-profit organizations dedicated to ending pet euthanasia.
