MESHA DAVIS ARIZONA FOUNDATION FOR WOMEN

Mesha Davis is the CEO of Arizona Foundation for Women (AFW) and is a champion for women. She began in 2016 and successfully executed the organization’s signature event honoring actress Ashley Judd with the Sandra Day O’Connor Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mesha was instrumental in hosting a release event for the latest Status of Women Report, a vital research piece that provides a clearer picture of the state of Arizona women. The report serves as a roadmap for AFW to prioritize the challenges women face, and develop strategies to solve these challenges through research, advocacy and philanthropy.

Prior, Mesha was Chief Development Officer at Southwest Center for HIV/ AIDS. She completed a $10.1 milliondollar capital/capacity campaign. She held its largest 25th anniversary annual fundraising gala, raising more than $750,000, ranking as one of Phoenix Business Journal’s Top Charity events.

Mesha received the 2018 In Business Women of Achievement and 2017 Achieving My Purpose Women of Achievement awards.

As executive director of LISC Phoenix, Terry Benelli is all about asset management, capital investment and balanced ledgers. But when this nonprofit leader takes care of business, it’s in the interest of building inclusive communities that nurture the wisdom and creativity of local leaders.

For Terry, comprehensive community development is not possible without targeted investment in people and small businesses. She is dedicated to ensuring residents of marginalized neighborhoods acquire assets they desire for upward mobility — jobs, safe and stable housing and communities designed to promote health.

The Phoenix office of Local Initiatives Support Corporation makes capital investments with an equitable lens. In 2017, LISC Phoenix invested $24 million that leveraged an additional $112 million.

Terry oversees a community development operation that takes into account education opportunity, community safety, social and cultural cohesion and access to health care. LISC-infused projects and programs thwart the devastating forces of gentrification and displacement.

ELIZABETH AYERS-CLUFF IMPACT ONE Elizabeth Ayers-Cluff received her BSW in Social Work from Arizona State University. In 2009, at 37 she began her battle with breast cancer. After years of treatments and surgery came to an end, she realized that while there were all kinds of information about breast cancer awareness, prevention and research, there was very little support to help women in the trenches to help women in the “now”. She took her years of experience in the non-profit sector and formed Impact One Breast Cancer Foundation. She has assisted over 600 women diagnosed with breast cancer. The Hope Box program has helped women in underserved communities— women who have been forgotten or women who simply just need Hope! Most of her energy has focused on supporting women who need additional services to help aid in their recovery. Each hope box is shipped with vital essentials needed to help her breast cancer sisters feel whole again.
