THE KNOX THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY HOOD The custom-made, black hood is bordered in scarlet for the theology degree, three inches on the Master hood, four and one-half inches on the Doctor hood. The inside lining has three one-and-a-half inch chevrons of worsted wool in Modern Red MacFarlane Tartan, the John Knox family tartan, on a background of dark green satin. Each hood is unique because the Modern Red MacFarlane Tartan must be matched as the hood is tailored; no two chevrons are alike.
