Knutsford Academy Careers Fair Tuesday 28th March Studio School

Welcome to Knutsford Academy’s very first Careers Fair, in partnership with Macclesfield Pledge. We are delighted to be joined by 40 exhibitors who are attending today, including local and national businesses, colleges, universities, and careers advisory/apprenticeship services. This will be a great opportunity for students and parents to see first-hand the huge range of post-school options that are available. We have listed the exhibitors on pages 2 and 3, and compiled some top tips to get the most out of the event on page 4.

Careers Fair: Top tips to get the most out of the event Make the most of your Careers Fair: • Prepare! Look at the list of exhibitors and pick out the organisations that you most want to speak to. • Questions: Prepare in advance any questions that you want to ask. These might be about specific apprenticeships, courses, careers, or about possible work experience. You might want to ask what the organisations are looking for in terms of relevant qualifications, skills and experience. • Be polite and courteous at all times - many of the organisations attending have apprenticeship vacancies and courses that you could apply for if you are interested - you will want to make a good impression. • At the end of the event, make some notes to record any useful information you have gathered. This could help with future applications and/or interviews. After the Careers Fair - your next steps: • Research organisations from the Careers Fair that have appealed to you and if you are interested in what they have to offer, complete any relevant application forms. • For information about courses in the College and Studio Sixth Form, speak to your subject teachers and Head of Sixth Forms Mrs Kirkham, and Miss Hawkins. To discuss options, next steps and/or jobs search skills, speak to your careers adviser, Mrs Pickford. • Online information is also available on the careers section of the Knutsford Academy website.
