Precast concrete was utilized to compress the construction schedule and provide structure for the stair towers which serve as giant columns to support the press box clearspan.
The press box structure is designed to anchor the existing 10,000 seat grandstand. Stair towers are placed at each end of the press box to increase its presence and apparent mass. Subtle textural and color changes are used to reinforce solidity while the layout of window openings creates a sense of permeability and transparency.
