Client: Siouxland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates Date of Completion: 2001 Area: 12,500 s.f. Introduction Part of a new campus of professional buildings carefully planned by the architect, the Siouxland Oral facility doubles the space available to a growing surgical practice. The architect’s design increases operational efficiency, improves patient comfort and privacy and promotes the image of the practice. The design incorporates detailing inspired by the Prairie Style of architecture. Liberal use of wood and a warm color palette help create a welcoming and soothing environment for patients and families. Program Many years of successful oral surgical services to the region and a desire to become part of a very elite group of accredited oral surgery centers contributed to the need for new facilities. Having outgrown their existing 2 story facility, the surgeons outlined a number of requirements for their new spaces: •Allow for orderly patient circulation on one level •Create a warm and comfortable environment for patients of diverse backgrounds •Provide facilities which allow the staff to concentrate on individual patient care •Utilize environmental systems which promote patient and staff comfort

Involving the owner and builder in the design process, a new master plan was developed. This master plan provides a logical long term phasing plan for the campus while relating to the scale of the nearby residential development.
