DEFINING A BRAND

BLAC FASHION BRAND November 2015 – February 2016

CONCEPTION – ANALYSIS – CORPORATE DESIGN – PHOTOGRAPHY blāc is a fashion brand specialised in black clothing and accessoires for men only. Before the design process our team had to analyse our target audience, defining the brand and the lifestyle it accompanies. The blāc brand book captures every aspect of our ideas and concepts we collected and used eventually.

November 2015 – February 2016

CONCEPTION – ANALYSIS – CORPORATE DESIGN – PHOTOGRAPHY Apart from the brand book, each of our group was assigned to design a magazine in which blāc regularly presents its newest collection and actual trends and insightful articles. Filled with a lot of humour, this enormous magazine in the size of a newspaper reflects the consumer’s ego. 07

SENDING AN IMPACTFUL MESSAGE

AGAINST LEUKAEMIA November 2016 – January 2017

CONCEPTION – GRAPHIC DESIGN A poster the agency and I were working on for a poster competition. Our theme was a call to donate stem cells in order to battle against leukaemia. The message has a double meaning: “Leck mich” both means “Lick me” and “Screw you”. The indicated gesture empowers the second meaning.

INKTOBER

GEVATTER TOD Ocotber 2014

CONCEPTION – ILLUSTRATION The Inktober Initiative is a challenge held in October, where illustrators are invited to draw using ink only. I got the old German fairytail of Gevatter Tod (“Godfather Death”). Each illustration pictures in a clever matter way a scene from the fairy tale.

HOMAGE TO JOSEPH BEUYS

MILK AND COTTON July 2014 – August 2014

CONCEPTION – PHOTOGRAPHY My partner and I were instructed to use white objects only for our project. Our theme became a homage to German artist Joseph Beuys who regularly used grease and felt for his works of art. These materials represent energy and warmth and are reducable to the vital needs the human needs. We adapted his idea with our personal objects.

EXPAND A BRAND

EURO CONTAINER May 2016 – July 2016

CONCEPTION – GRAPHIC DESIGN – VISUAL IDENTITY The company Lebenshilfe-Werkstätten expanded their service with cleaning Euro containers. A logo, a visual identity and a landing page had to be developed. Whilethe arrows represen the concept of the clean-dirty-cycle, the negative space can be interpreted as a container or the cleaning machine.

AN EXTRAORDINARY COMBINATION

TYPO POSTER November 2014 – January 2015

GRAPHIC DESIGN Who thought that the combination of sans-serif and script fonts would work so well together? As motives I chose the most famous Spaghetti Western from the mid 60s to the end 70s.

17

18

INTERPRETING MUNDANE EVENTS

POLITICAL POSTER May 2015 – August 2015

GRAPHIC DESIGN – ILLUSTRATION – CONCEPTION Two big occurrences made it to the newspaper and were a topic for months. The bugging scandal on Angela Merkel and ISIS ruining human lives and their culture. Both drawings were initially made analogically, then got digitalised.

REAL TYPE

POSTCARDS May 2014 – August 2014

GRAPHIC DESIGN – PHOTOGRAPHY – CONCEPTION A call out against the use of fur in the fashion branche. The letters showing an abstract representation of the animals suffering during the process of getting their skin ripped away are made of carton and fake fur.

CHANGE BEING RECORDED

THE HELIOS TERRAIN January 2015 – February 2016

PHOTOGRAPHY – CONCEPTION How to record something that is living a constant flux? I took several pictures of the terrain, the graffiti and the people. The following day I returned, only finding new graffiti and other changes, so I did it again and again. This project can be seen as a neverending one, if you stick te new pictures above the older ones. In this case, you can literally see the flux of time.

BUILDING A BRAND

VonRIELE November 2015 – February 2016

CORPORATE DESIGN – PHOTOGRAPHY – CONCEPTION VonRiele is a high-end producer of office supplies. Our goal was to define its brand and building up a campaign around their products. One result is a scrapbook that consists of an agenda, a scrapbook and a guidebook alltogether. This scrapbook helps you organise everything, find your inner calm, and become a respected person in your company.

25

26

November 2015 – February 2016

CORPORATE DESIGN – PHOTOGRAPHY – CONCEPTION Besides the scrapbook, we also did product photos, but in an unconventional way. In order to gain attention, we made everything a bit lewd by playing a bit with our products. 27
