Honestly, I was not even sure if I can put together enough artworks for an entire portfolio. I have been drawing eversince and still, there is little I am absoloutely proud of. Since I always, and ever, see things I could — and hopefully will — improve. Also I wondered if I had enough material that isn’t based on any other kind of media, fanart so to say. But lets put it simple : I simply draw what I love and I love to work with what I love. And I get so deeply addicted to things that are fascinating me, to characters, series, stories, ideas or concepts and I end up being totally obsessed with those things for a while now and then. That’s why you’ll find so few original works in here — I won’t feel any shame for showing you these things, as i made them with love and will share them will the same.

I’ll just have to add that most of characters I portrayed are not my own, neither are the designs, and i won’t sell them. original characters and sotries are explained and signed.

finished art works full coloured digital / traditional Colours have never really been my thing, i thought. i rather focus on contrasts, light, shadows and sharp edges, lines as well. colours have been a mystery to me for a very long time, and probably ever will be in a way. at least i got a little braver, started experimenting, but i still have to learn a lot. these are some of my works i’M most proud of. I usually try to finish those drawings in about 1-3 days, depending on how focused i work. i sometimes get lost in details, or ignore them completely. see, it’s always a fight, with myself, for the characters i want to portrait, but maybe it’s worth it.

have some more drawings. rather sketchy ones, also some traditional ones. i spent most of my life drawing in my spare time, squeezed in between homework or late at night, when i was alone and out of reach. i love to “catch” some images in my head through my drawings, faces, eyes, shapes of lips and curves of jaws. so i rather work quick, how people move normally. still, if i wanted to elaborate on anything, i tried to add colours, shadows, make the sketches solid. it’s nothing monumental or finished what you see here, but practice and concepts!

sketches + traditional

this might be my favourite and most frequently used way to draw: pencil and fine liner sketches. i loved to draw in school, still do it in university from time to time, or simply when i do nothing much else. paper is still my most favourite surface and i fear i’ll never get a hold on digital media the way i learned to love pen and paper as simple but fantastic tools to sketch down little sceneries, studies or even portraits. i feel no pressure making them and i hope that’s somehow transported through the art as well — lose lines, quickly added shadings.

university homeworks i studied illustration and design, so book illustrations were a major part of my work there. these are a few sites of a comic i made about H.P. lovecraft’s ‘Dagon’. on the right a book cover of our choice, i made one for donna tartt’s ‘Secret history’ with photoshop.
