01 Illustrations SEAMLESS PATTERN ILLUSTRATIONS A series of seamless pattern designs made using flat style illustrations. Through this series of illustrations, I learnt how to make simple objects using basic shapes and how to arrange and tie everything together. Through this course I also got a better understanding of which colours go well together and how to make colour palettes to signify the mood of the design.

04 Calendar THE 2018 COLOURING CALENDAR A self initiated project on calendar design. The concept behind this calendar was to keep the user engaged and relaxed on an everyday basis, the reason being that one tends to get overwhelmed when looking at deadlines. Colouring has calming properties. Also, listing down the goals for the month further helps keep the user organised. This was the concept behind the calendar. The colour palette consisted of very light pastel colours.

17

18

CALENDAR SPREADS Each spread is 148 mm x 210 mm in measure. The colours used are pastel colours and there are 6 colours in total. The upper portion is for colouring in the illustrations and lower portion is to write the important tasks for the month. In addition to that, there a suggestions for the month, facts and one bad habit to let go of in each month. 19

CHOICE OF ILLUSTRATIONS The illustrations used in this project were very simple doodles of the festivals or the important events happening in that particular month. The above example of the month of februrary has illustrations of events and festivals like the Chinese new year, valentine’s day, cancer day depicted by using the ribbon etc. 20

05 Publication MAGAZINE SPREAD DESIGN The magazine design class assignment was a group project. The group consisted of 5 members and each person had some contribution in the magazine in terms of layout, content and the overall art direction. Our magazine was a student magazine called ‘Unwind’, wherein we had interviews with established design professors, list of interesting places to visit in and outside the campus, stories, poetry, promotional pages for student instagram accounts their talents etc. My contribution in this project was in terms of content generation, and two whole spreads, one of them being an interview with a design professional, Ms. Lolita Dutta about travel and design and the other one being a story written by me along with a supportive comical illustration for the same.

21

22

AN INTROVERT’S MARCH TO CONFIDENCE This spread was a story written by me on the struggles I faced as an introvert army kid and how I learnt to be comfortable in my own skin over a period of time. I also made a comical illustration in support of the text. 23
