How do scientists study drought? The scientist that studies droughts are called “climatologists.” Climatologists use temperature and precipitation records to define a place’s “normal” climate. In this way, they can know when it is about the time when droughts came.

How do scientists predict drought?

Scientist predicts droughts by study the precipitation and temperature on that specific place or city.

What should you do when there is a drought? When there is a drought you/me should stop using too much water, instead of saving the water to prevent from the drought in the next days.

Some scary drought events: ● Between 1876 and 1879 in the Northern China.about 10 million (10,000,000 ) people starved to death during a drought. ● In Indonesia the hot and dry weather makes the forest catches fire easily. In 1997 an area of forest, then became a forest fire.

The 4 types of droughts: Below, these are the types of drought that were categorized by scientist that studies droughts. ● Meteorological drought means the amount of precipitation has been below average for a long time. ● Agriculture droughts mean that there is not enough water to sustain certain crops. ● Hydrological droughts occur when the water supply is too low. ● Socioeconomic droughts when a water shortage affects humans.
