Andros Andros is the second largest island of the Cyclades and one of the islands closest to Athens.
Gavrio, which is the port of Andros, connects to Rafina as well as to the other islands of the Cyclades. The port lies at a distance of 37 nautical miles from Rafina and there is a regular liner taking less than two hours. Rafina is the second largest passenger port of Athens and lies at a distance of 10 kilometres from Eleftherios Venizelos, the international airport of Athens.

The plot is located on the main road connecting Gavrio and the Andros Chora(the capital of the island) which is the main road axis of the island. It is very close to Kolympos a very small village which is part of the Paleopolis community. it lies about 250 metres from the coast. It offers unobstructed views to the sea. Gavrio Port.
Plot Location.
The plot is less than 2km away from the Paleopoli commune office, the Paleopolis archaeological museum and the local coffee shop and restaurant. Paleopoli beach, which is among the most beautiful beaches of the island, is accessible only by foot . The road to the beach is not, along its last 100 metres, accessible due to a ban by the Archaeology Service.
At the Chora Archaeological Museum one may find the impressive “Hermes of Andros�, found in 1833 at Paleopoli (included in the Hellenistic and Roman sculptures collection). This sculpture, of supernatural dimensions, is a Roman copy of a bronze sculpture by Praxiteles and dates back to the 1st century BC.
Paleopoli is the old capital of the island and constitutes a significant archaeological area with renowned excavations and with finds from the Archaic and up to the Early Byzantine period. The most ancient ceramic finds from this area date back to the Mycenaic period, whereas there are also relics from the Geometric period. Significant finds in this area include the Copenhagen Maiden, a Kouros and the complex representing Pegasus and
Bellerofon, which date back to the 6th century BC and illustrate that the town began to develop during the Archaic period. On the basis of previous finds, building activity in the area began in the early 5th century BC and lasted until the Late Christian years.
The fact that Ancient Greeks selected Paleopoli to create the main ancient settlement on the island indicates the incomparable beauty of the landscape in this area.

In terms of accessibility, the plot lies at the centre of the island as it is located on the Island’s main road connecting the port to the Chora. It’s distance from the following points of interest are: The port : 17.8 kilometres (1) The Chora : 13.6 kilometres (2) Batsi : 9.8 kilometres (3)

Nearby beaches At a small distance from the plot lie the very beautiful beaches of Chalkolimonas, Apothikes, Paleopoli, Aghia Eleoussa, and Aghia Marina, all of which are accessible by car except for Paleopoli, where the Archaeology Service does not currently permit access with regards to the last metres.

The plot is 25,915.22 square metres and has been separated into 6 independent properties the surface of which is indicated in the following table.

The property is not part of a city plan and each plot is a buildable lot according to the building terms off city limits. An Archaeology Service certificate, as well as a final decision by the Forestry Authority, has been issued. By court decision, rights of way have been established for access from the country road and up to the remotest end of the plot.
The orientation is south - south-west, and thus there is adequate protection from north-winds, whereas there is a sunset view with the sun setting in the sea.

In the evening, the lights of Batsi and Gavrio are visible, as well as those of the eastern shores of Attiki if the air is clear.
To the south-west, one can see Giaros island.
The view to the sea is unobstracted to all directions and, when there is good visibility, many other islands of the Cyclades can be seen.
THE PROJECT In each plot, the following surfaces may be built according to the current regulations of the land-planning legislation regarding building off city limits:

Apart from the above surfaces, it is possible to build equivalent surfaces underground for auxiliary use, according to the rules of the land-planning legislation.
At this point, six (6) different building permits have already been issued (one for each plot). The building of plots 1, 2 and 3 will begin first. In terms of infrastructures, apart from contact with the road, the plot is covered by an Electricity Corporation line and a Telephon Company line. The water connection to Paleopoli’s network is still currently outstanding. The main plans of Phase A are given below: Plot 1, 2, 3
