ADAPTATION TO ANY PRINTING ENVIRONMENT BENS Server works as a network print server manipulating and optimising print data streams to ensure Konica Minolta output devices adapt to virtually any print environment, for example SAP.
Completely application-independent, BENS Server refines print data to achieve the targeted results. Barcodes or corporate fonts can be added and carbon copies created to replace matrix printers or translate proprietary print data streams into standard printer languages. Full flexibility for filters and licences is ensured. Next to this, BENS Server is a smart solution for the creation of customer-specific print and document workflows.
BENS Server combines conversion as well as enhancement capabilities, is easily scalable and offers numerous advantages to extensive printing facilities: a single BENS Server appliance supports and enhances the feature set of a corporate network. With its reliable hardware and operating system, BENS Server offers flexible, clever and scalable print process management.

KEY FEATURES Unified print room management – Font processing: Special fonts can be integrated into the print data, for example a company font used exclusively for the corporate design. – Macros: This feature allows the adding of letterhead data to the print job so that plain paper can be used, avoiding the necessity to stock preprinted letterhead paper in a tray.
Print policies & rules – Colour print control: The BENS Server enables users to enforce clear colour print policies, for example to limit the use of colour or the number of colour prints per job on a dedicated device. – Printer fail-over: It is possible to reroute jobs to printers that are available and ready to print, thus avoiding print queues due to “Out of toner” status or some other problem with the output device. – Green print policies: Certain print modes, such as automatic duplex printing, can be set as default to stop wasteful use of paper caused by printing documents single-sided. – Custom rule creation: The selection of job conditions and triggers as well as related actions and notifications gives the administrator enhanced control mechanisms and the flexibility to create unlimited sets of print rules. – Store a copy of a print job: This functionality provides a PDF copy of all print jobs in any accessible network share.
Product-based job processing – Carbon copy: As part of the print job, copies are created of the original, providing the same functionality as on older matrix printers using carbon paper. The copies can be separated in the finisher, for example with the stapling function. – Smart document management: Additional filters are available, such as rule-based printing, and many more.
Print queue management – Central management of print queues and settings: All print queues and their properties can be managed centrally with BENS Server, whether this concerns a simple print queue that routes print jobs to one particular printer, or one that holds the job(s) until authentication. – Flexible queue properties: Each print queue can be set up individually in terms of job handling (adding filters, barcodes and fonts) job and paper size limitations, print job notifications, and many more. – Secure print release: This particularly useful feature for print queues means that print jobs are only released after authentication by the job owner at the output device via PIN code, card, or user credentials. User authentication helps avoid unnecessary printing as well as leaving confidential prints unattended in output trays from where they could easily get into the wrong hands. – Printing anywhere: High printing mobility is ensured with the user's ability to select any connected device for on-demand print release. This gives users extensive printing flexibility and offers output alternatives if one device is busy when needed. – Storage management: Devices can be programmed to automatically delete jobs in the secure print queue after a chosen time. This ensures that print volumes remain within the capacity limits of the available equipment. – Basic load balancing: Print jobs can be split among several printers for faster completion of the print run. BENS Server load balancer option intelligently distributes print jobs to several print queues depending on the number of print jobs waiting, always guaranteeing performance at the highest level.
