Muszyna

Muszyna is a small town located in the Poprad Valley, at the foot of the Beskid Sądecki, right by the border with Slovakia. It used to serve as the capital of the Church State and today it is a readily visited resort. Its biggest advantage is its location in peaceful surroundings and mineral waters. The latter ones are the reason why numerous visitors choose the place. The beneficial climate of the Beskids is another reason. However, Muszyna is not only a resort – it is a town full of historic sites which date back even to the Middle Ages, full of interesting stories and memorabilia which were left behind by people who used to inhabit this land. There are also remains of the Muszyna State and the Trade Route which ran through Muszyna. However, the town does not stand still and new attractions are added year after year. Muszyna is called the Town of Gardens not without a reason – there are the Sensory, Magical, Antique and Biblical ones in which you are sure to find your favourite corner.

In the Land of Gentleness

Muszyna is a charming town surrounded by the Beskid Sądecki and crossed by the Poprad River. It is so peaceful, so green, so quiet, not disturbed by mass tourism and described by poets as ‘the Land of Gentleness’. Small villages are scattered around Muszyna – in the past they were inhabited by Lemkos and now they are almost forgotten. When Lemko people were forced to leave this land, they left behind wooden Orthodox churches, roadside crosses, shrines and their cottages. They also left legends, stories, traditions which are gradually fading away, empty trails where angels and other legendary creatures revel. They left silence and tranquillity which create this unique Land of Gentleness. These areas are appreciated by hikers who do not enjoy crowded routes but are crazy about clearings full of cowberries, by cross-country skiers who seek unblazed trails, by cyclists and the enthusiasts of history. Let us not forget about the amateurs of architecture and good food.

Trela Villa is located in Muszyna, at the foot of Sucha Mountain, in a spa district of the town. It is in a place where the Poprad creates a picturesque bend and time flies slowly. It is in a place where we will find springs of crystal clear mineral water and green mountains which will wrap us in tranquillity. The villa is a cosy place surrounded by nature from whose windows we can admire the Beskid Sądecki. Around the building there is a big garden which enables us to rest and enjoy our stay. Right by the villa, beautiful Zdrojowa Alley runs. A few hundreds metres further, we will find a complex of swimming pools and the Sensory Gardens. It will take us only 15 minutes on foot to get to the centre. We can reach Krynica by car in 20 minutes. The proximity of ski stations, hiking trails, spas and numerous attractions, also the ones located in neighbouring Slovakia, make the place a comfortable base to explore the whole region in every season.

Trela Villa is situated in a district of Muszyna by the Poprad, hence its name (in Polish ‘za’ – by, ‘popradzie’ – the Poprad). There is the Spa Park and one of the oldest mineral water pump rooms ‘Antoni’. Zapopradzie is a place where we can do numerous sports. There is the Centre of Recreation and Sports with swimming pools which are open in summer and an ice rink in winter. There is a volleyball court, table tennis, a line park and a water ball. Most importantly, the majority of famous gardens of Muszyna are situated there.
