RAFTING
RIVER ADVENTURES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.
From scenic floats to adrenaline-pumping rapids.
The Illecillewaet (pronounced ill·a·sill·a·wet) is a glacier-fed river that begins in Glacier National Park and snakes its way through the Selkirk Mountains to its confluence with the Columbia River in Revelstoke. Apex Rafting and Wild Blue Yonder both run trips on this river. Take in lush scenery and shore-side wildlife from the unique vantage and hold on tight through the big waves. The biggest rapids come in high water, from mid-June into mid-July. Low water starts in late July, and allows for a few more stops, swims, and gentler floats along the way. Minimum requirements for kids vary during high water, so check with the rafting companies. If you want a float tailored to them check out the relaxed river float from Wild Blue Yonder on the Columbia River.
