Columbia River Skywalk

The Columbia River Skywalk is one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges of its kind in North America at 1,000 feet (300 m) landing to landing! The bridge is part of the Trans Canada Trail Society’s Great Trail and spans the Columbia River from Rotary Park in West Trail to McQuarrie Street in East Trail. Victoria Street Bridge Lights

One hundred and four programmable colourchanging LED lights illuminate nightly along the arches of the Victoria Street Bridge to create an inviting and visually exciting environment. Enjoy the lights from the Esplanade, West Trail, the Columbia River Skywalk or Gyro Park. trail.ca/BridgeLighting

Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or just a basic necessity, Trail’s shops can set you up. Explore Trail’s three main shopping areas.

Downtown And The Gulch

In Trail’s downtown core, you will find a grocery store, three pharmacies and many specialty shops including clothing, shoes, gifts, sporting equipment, and more. Looking for parking downtown? Two hour, four hour, and all-day pay parking spots are available.

East Trail

East Trail’s shopping district offers a grocery store, boutiques, a classic barber shop, a great variety of second-hand stores, a book store, and several medical offices. Stroll over the Columbia River Skywalk for easy access from downtown.

Waneta Junction

Waneta Junction is equipped with a shopping plaza offering a variety of stores including restaurants, a grocery store, a gas station, and several other large shops offering building supplies and sporting equipment.

Fishing

Columbia River fishing is easily accessible in Trail and offers exceptional walleye, kokanee, bull trout and rainbow trout fishing. Boaters can launch for free at the Gyro Park boat launch.

Skiing And Snowshoeing

Trail Bridges Walking Loop

Simply walk the bridges and enjoy a stroll over the beautiful and scenic Columbia River Skywalk. Once across continue along the banks of the Columbia River to the Victoria Street Bridge and complete this quick and easy loop. This bridge is part of the Trans Canada Trail Society’s Great Trail and is also bike-friendly. If you’re feeling energetic, stroll over to Gyro Park from East Trail and enjoy the beautifully manicured river walk to the neighbourhood of Sunningdale.

Hiking And Mountain Biking

Take the family out for a mountain bike or hiking adventure on some of the best single track trails on the planet. The Kootenay Columbia Trails Society has developed over 170 km of trails. kcts.ca

Gyro Park Spray Park

The Gyro Park Spray Park is the ideal place to be on a summer day. A concession and access to the Columbia River and its sandy beach make it easy to spend the day.
