A product family designed to enhance the busy and tiresome life of guide dogs for visually impaired people. Group Members: Seren Sandikci Melek InĂźr

In collaboration with Ankara University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine


Literature Research Existing harnesses are uncomfortable for walking. Dogs need chewing toys to pass time. Guide dog breeds such as labradors and golden retrievers need fresh water regularly.

Owner depends solely on the directional feedback from the harness.

Ideation

Prototyping Expert Critiques Reducing the weight of the harness is beneficial for the owner and the dog. Products with food will be long lasting. Dimensions of the water unit should be adjusted for portability. Fixed fun products allows the dog to relax.

Trials “Directional feedback is as strong as the existing harnesses.” ”The guide dog must be stable in the office so fixed fun product will be great.” “Proportion of the water bowl is suitable for the dog’s mouth.”

Dedicated and expensive equipments that occupy kitchen space. Sous vide, meaning “under vacuum” in French, refers to the process of vacuum-sealing the food then cooking it in a water bath. It allows cooking the item evenly, retaining its moisture and ensuring the inside is properly cooked while not overcooking the outside.

Initial alternatives for accessory shape and lid mechanism.

Usage Scenario

Meals like fish can be organized with the tray.

Vacuuming the air is done with an easy to use two-valve mechanism.


Shape of the base fits the dishwasher rack for stability during washing/cooking.

Its simple vacuum mechanism does not require any external machine.

Can double as a sealed food container for long time storage.

Case A 14 year old Syrian refugee who lost his thumb and index finger in a mine blast.

Purpose Providing a cheap and adaptable prosthetic using 3D printing.

The stand works as a wireless charger for the headphone.

Can be used as an all purpose bluetooth speaker


An easel that offers a playful interaction with gravity.


Central weight works as a keystone that secures the whole structure, providing improved stability while painting.

Pulley mechanism allows securing the canvas in place.

Easy foldability is achieved with textile hinges.

By pushing up the weight, user releases the canvas from its holders and can easily remove it.

The central weight is filled with water when in use.

Dovetail shaped expandable legs provides angle adjustment.
