To whom it may concern:
It gives me great satisfaction to be able to recommend Ms. Adriana Zurera for research student at the University of Tokyo. I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Zurera as a junior student in my course of Drawing, Analysis and Representation and was her teacher for two semesters. However, over the past five years I have continued to follow her steps and have seen her develop both academically and personally. Already as early as her junior years in university she showed remarkable aptitudes and a strong desire to learn. Her enthusiasm and commitment, as well as her creativity and sensibility made her stand out among her fellow students. Compared to the average B of her class, Ms. Zurera was awarded an A grade for her work. Adriana’s academic performance and dedication during the course were exceptional, she has the ability to produce impressive results in a wide variety of areas, which makes her an exceptional candidate to any program. Her work always presented high attention to detail and exceptional quality, thus making her a valuable student for the course all in all.
LETTER of RECOMMENDATION
Adriana is motivated, hard-working, creative and tenacious, always prompt to address a challenge with enthusiasm. Additionally, she has a very positive attitude and truly embraces learning. Therefore , I would wholeheartedly recommend her for any program and wish her the very best in all future endeavors. Thus it is my hope that you will accept her application to the University of Tokyo in the hope that this experience benefit both parts, as she is a more than qualified student and a worthy asset. If I can be of any further assistance, or provide you with any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Atxu Amann Alcocer Senior Professor of the Department of Graphical Ideation School of Architecture, UPM

HOUSING_dream house on a roof over Madrid
>> assignment small house on the roof of the Fine Arts Circle building in the center of Madrid. the site is priviledged not only because of the height of the location, but because it stands in the midst of some of the grandest buildings of the capital. located in Alcalá street, the Fine Arts Circle is surrounded by the National Bank, the Cervantes Institute, the Palace of Communications, Cibeles, and Paseo del Prado. the roof is hight enough that it offers a 360º view over the city of Madrid and the building in itself is one of the landmarks of the area, crowned with the statue of the godess Minerva. >> inhabiting the section one of the premises of the project was to think the house from the perspective of the section, rather than the floor plan. after dividing the uses by usage load [low, medium, high] a sequecntial program is devised. this evolves into a “functional promenade” that bends on itself keeping to the aforementined criterion. a different plane is established for each function and partitions disappear so we recognise a change in atmosphere because we are in a higher or lower plane. the functional promenade twists like a spiral inside a square prism, creating a void of 8m in height in the middle. this atrium connects all the spaces of the house visually and dilates the environment. but in the end it is really the promenade which effectively communicates the various atmospheres.
