03 retail p. 7-12
CONCEPT:
Sass & Bide is one of Australia’s most prominant international and pop culture inspired women’s fashion labels. Sarah Jane Clarke (Sass) and Heidi Middleton (Bide) are motivated by a love of vintage clothing markets, commenced modifying jeans purchased from retail outlets, and cutting them to meet their own tastes. The design of this space reflects Sass & Bide’s fashion inspiration through its modern angles and simlicity in color.

sustainability
l Exterior Perspective l Several innovative resources work to imporve efficiency and environmental consciousness in this house. The use of these techniques lowers the home’s carbon footprint and contributes to its’ overall sustainable impact. l The house features an intensive roof garden, photovoltaic shingles, rainwater harvesting, a self-programming thermostat, and a radiant floor heating system. l The roof garden contributes to lowering HVAC energy use by heating and cooling the home naturally.
l Photovoltaic shingles absorb UV radiation and convert it to usable energy in the form of electricity. l The rainwater harvesting system implemented conserves rainwater to irrigate the green roof. l The thermostat employed programs itself to run the heating and cooling systems most efficiently. l Radiant floor heat embedded in the foundation heats the home from the ground up.
