Dear Girlfriend , I am hurt and confused and I don’t know what to do. My husband of 10 years has been cheating with a woman he worked with. I suspected something a while back while he was still employed there, but I said nothing. Recently, we attended a reception for one of his old co-workers and she was there. She was very fresh with my husband to the point that it made me uncomfortable. I made comments about it and he said it was nothing, that was just her way and they were just cool like that. Well, one day I had to take my husband’s car because mine was in the shop. While out I had a flat tire and found myself in his trunk. In his trunk was a box from work where he had cleaned out his desk and I saw pictures and receipts that let me know just what was going on. I confronted him with the evidence and he admitted it was true. I put him out. He begged and promised it would never happen again and swore up and down he did not want to loose his family over her. I even confronted the other woman and I wanted to kick her butt, but she apologized. Now I feel embarrassed betrayed and angry. Everyone knew but me. And I am mad with everyone around them. It was like they were helping him cheat. Now, I do not want to go anywhere with him and his buddies or their wives and girlfriends because I feel one of them should have warned me. I love my husband but now the trust is gone and I don’t want to see any of his friends. Broken Hearted Wife. Dear Broken Hearted Wife, You have forgiven your husband, but want to be mad at the people around you. That’s displaced aggression. Do not be mad with them, be mad at yourself and HIM. You knew, but suppressed the thought, like it was going to go away. You should have address the problem when you first thought something. Instead, you played dumb and gave him enough rope to hang himself. You shouldn’t ever do that, unless you want your man hung. Next time handle the problem when you see it starting. Your friends, his friends and the co-workers did right. They were not supposed to open their mouths, except maybe to him. Remember, when you took your vows the minister said “if anyone see any reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace” (So they held their peace). He also said “What God has joined together let no man put asunder.” Well when you become as one, everyone is suppose to stay out of your affairs. Friends can tell you about a boyfriend because at that point you have not made a commitment, and maybe they can help you recognize his character before you make a mistake, but a marriage is different, it’s a done deal and it’s sacred. Do you know how many people out there who have cheated and were never exposed and their marriages are doing fine? If someone had interfered they may have divorced, raised broken children and not lived happily ever after. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. How you react will have everything to do with what he does in the future. You did right to put him out (temporarily) to let him know that behavior will not be acceptable in your marriage. God revealed to you his infidelities. No one had to tell you anything. Pray and ask God to put your life in divine order. If you still want your marriage, go out with him and his friends. If you don’t, she will. Always remember, the world doesn’t stop because you are broken hearted. Keep living your best life, moving through your pain. Don’t isolate yourself, nor him or you may find yourself going through that again. Now that you know, don’t fake the funk making yourself look fake. Don’t bite your tongue but always maintain your composure. Also you did stand before God and say, “...for better or worst.” Know that you can’t make it to heaven, if you can’t forgive. Need Advice? Mayor Jane Castor, First 90 Days in Office How Would You Grade Your Mayor?
go to ntouchnews.com to listen to the interview in its entirerity
Our new mayor is Jane Castor, a former police captain and a member of the LBGTQ community. She brings to the mayor’s job a tough stance on crime, an even tempered stance on equality and an open mind on economic diversity. Castor has high ideals of what her city should look like in the next ten years. She has presented a budget to the City Council and looks to them to support her bold vision. With a little more than one billion dollars, $1.04 billion in fact, the mayor’s proposal for her new budget includes, a set aside of $11.8 million for improvements in transportation and another $9.5 million for affordable housing. One of her concerns is building and sustaining the reserve fund for a rainy day and it rains a lot in Tampa. Former mayor Bob Buckhorn left her with almost 4 million in surplus to start off her new administration so she is already beginning from a position of strength. In her first 90 days in the seat as Mayor, she responded to several questions from N-TOUCH News and here are a few excerpts of what she had to say. Daryl Johnson: How do you plan on keeping some of the promises made? Mayor Castor - I said that I would focus on those issues that are the most important to our city. And those are Transportation, Affordable Housing, Workforce Development. Then looking at our resiliency and sustainability, ensuring that our city is positioned to face the challenges of climate change. Also, focus on reducing our carbon footprint here in the city, clearly to continue with the thoughtful development that’s been put in place and is really sprouting up all over the city. Daryl Johnson What’s your plan on improving Transportation? Mayor Castor: - currently our street repaving is on a 75-year schedule. So we just do not have the funding to provide the transportation solutions that go all the way from elements that can be looked at as quick fixes, you know sidewalk construction, especially beginning it at the schools and moving outward, looking at repaving of our streets, looking at complete streets making our roadways safer for the motoring public, also for the cyclist and pedestrians out in our community. Then focusing on larger issues; what we can do with mass transportation, our bus system needs a complete
overhaul. So it’s exciting to be a part of the heartbeat and to oversee those changes in the implementation of a of a reliable bus service that will go into neighborhoods that have never seen nor had that service… Daryl Johnson: Talk to me about Affordable Housing. Mayor Castor: - Affordable housing is a critical issue in our community ……. the last thing that we can have happened is to have our citizens pushed out of Tampa because they can’t afford the rising cost of housing while rates, wages stay stagnant. So, I’m focused on affordable housing and I’m going to do everything that I can to ensure that we have affordable housing available to all of our citizens.... the Tampa Housing Authority right now has a three-year waiting list …… .as a city we’ve been hamstrung somewhat by the state because a lot of that funding .... has been cut dramatically Daryl Johnson: On Workforce Development. Mayor Castor: What we have to do in East & West Tampa is first and foremost provide good jobs, that has a living wage and that’s why one of my areas of focus is Workforce Development. We have a great deal of development that’s in place right now and will continue into the future but we don’t have the skilled labor force for that…… . We have to change the mindset that says everyone has to go to college because that’s not necessarily the case. You could get training in one of these skilled laborers field and then pay your way through college so you’re not saddled with debt, to provide those good paying jobs that will allow for the purchase of a home that will allow for the sustainment of any retail that you bring into a community as well. It’s something that I intend to focus on. East Tampa and West Tampa won’t be a short-term fix. It is going to be a long-term Improvement. Workforce Development is a good program to help develop employees. While the first 90 days is just a short period of time for an assessment, you can tell a lot about an administration within the first 3 to 6 months. Right now I see her transitioning from campaign mode to implementation mode. I believe you will see more inclusion than past administrations. I expect great changes to come from Mayor Castor and we will hold her accountable! From me, she gets an A for effort and community participation
Kierra Jenkins, Recipient of the Carla Lewis Scholarship
Mayor Jane Castor and the Mayor’s African American Advisory Council (MAAAC) are preserving the memory of a longtime city of Tampa employee through a $1,000 college scholarship. The Carla Lewis Scholarship pays homage to the former city employee who died on July 26, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. Lewis was a 15-year employee who served as the City’s Neighborhood Liaison. Kierra Jenkins, a recent King High School graduate, is the first recipient of the Carla Lewis Scholarship. Jenkins received several accolades and participated in numerous extracurricular activities while in high school. Jenkins was selected out of a pool of applicants for the scholarship.

Preparing for Back to School: Tips for Educators and Parents By: Ebone Cruz Clifton from Tamara Shamburger’s post
As a parent and former educator I have found that Preparation for back to school is vital to ensure success. However, preparation is more than backpacks, new clothes and cute photos. Parents and educators must both take responsibility and meet each other half way if we want our children to have an effective educational experience. TIPS FOR EDUCATORS 1. Cultural Responsive Classroom’s Be curious yet respectful and knowledgeable about cultural history. Don’t assume you relate and know the struggles of what students are going through daily at home. Remember the environment you go home to and where students go home can be completely different. Use active listening and remember you are not the expert, so you may have to assist students in obtaining additional help. 2. Developing a Positive Self Identity Take the time to learn your students and what interest them. I know this
may sound over whelming considering the amount of students you may have, but build individual relationships with students. 3. Provide Encouragement by being Enthusiastic “Be a Motivator” being enthusiastic during instruction will not only capture your student’s attention it will also spill over into the way the information is received. Students can pick up the emotional state of their teacher based on body language. 4. Forgive: Misunderstandings will happen at some point during the school year but it’s your responsibility to forgive and forget. Remember the goal is to educate young people, not feed your ego. It’s been said by parents that teachers play “get back” with students after an occurrence. If you think about it, it’s enough to deal with when adults play “get back”. Be sure to ensure students that you do not harbor feelings of animosity towards them by punishing them every chance you get.
TIPS FOR PARENTS 1. Parental Engagement with Teachers and Administration Be involved in all aspects of your child’s education. Take the time to know teachers and the administration staff. There are several ways to communicate with teachers especially with technology. Sign up for school communication and attend events periodically to observe your child’s teacher in and out of the classroom. Use text message, join the PTA, and volunteer to go on fieldtrips or participate in school projects. Avoid talking about teachers and administration in front of students. 2. Avoid Chronic Absenteeism & Tardiness Every minute of missed instruction hurts your child’s chances of success. Students who regularly miss school, even as early as Kindergarten, are significantly less likely to graduate than those who attend regularly. Preparing for the school year means we as parents have to prepare to get up and get our
children to school on time. They rely on us and the start of their success begins with YOU! 3. Educate the Educator If there are things your child’s teacher should know about your child, communicate it. We can’t expect teachers to know our children within the 1st week of school. Let your child’s teacher know what’s going on at home so they are aware of any sudden behavior changes to expect. 4. Understand your child is not PERFECT! Although we all assume our children are perfect little angels, think again. Once your child steps on school grounds they have many pressures to make them act out of the norm. Don’t assume your child is the target and fail to take responsibility of your child’s behavior. It’s important you know the school and classroom rules as much as it is important for your child to know. Encourage positive behavior even when teachers aren’t watching. Be sure they know it is okay to ask questions.

Stop Mosquitoes From Multiplying Around Your Home
Residents may have standing water around their homes that support the breeding of mosquitoes. Follow these tips from the Florida Department of Health to help prevent mosquito breeding: Drain water from garbage cans, house gutters, pool covers, coolers, toys, flower pots, buckets, watering cans, kiddie pools, and any other containers where rainwater has collected. Discard old tires, drums, bottles, cans, pots and pans, broken appliances, and other items that may collect water. Clean out rain gutters and downspouts regularly. Empty and clean birdbaths and pet water bowls at least once or twice a week. Protect boats and vehicles from rain with tarps that do not accumulate water. Keep swimming pools in good condition, and maintain chlorination. For more information on managing mosquitoes visit HCFLGov.net/Mosquito

Go Ahead and Get your Laugh On FBI Agent
The FBI had an open position for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were completed, they had narrowed the field down to 3 possible agents. For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. ‘We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances.’ Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair... we need you to kill her’ The man said, ‘You can’t be serious. I could never shoot my wife.’ The agent said, ‘Then you’re not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home.’ The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, ‘I tried, but I can’t kill my wife.’ The agent said, ‘You don’t have what it takes. Take your wife home.’ Finally, the last man was given the same instructions, to kill his wife. He took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the man, wiping the sweat from his brow. ‘Some idiot loaded the gun with blanks’ he said. ‘I had to strangle that bitch to death’.
The Wedding
A beautiful bride was being escorted down the aisle by her father. When they reached the altar, everyone noticed that she handed her father something small. With the biggest grin he put in his pocket . No one knew what the item was, but everyone wondered. Later at the reception, one of the guests couldn’t stand not knowing what the exchanged item was and he asked the father of the bride. The father looked up, smiled and said “She was just returning my credit card. It’s his turn now!”
Yo Momma Joke
Yo Moma is so stupid, she was yelling into the mailbox. We asked her what was she doing and she said, she was sending a voice-mail.
The Confession
This man goes to confession and says, “Forgive me father for I have sinned.” The priest asks if he would like to confess his sins and the man replies that he used the “F-word” over the weekend. The priest says, “Oh okay, just say three Hail Marys and try to watch your language.” The man replies that he would like to confess as to why he said the “Fword”. The priest sighs and tells him to continue. Well father I played golf on Sunday with my buddies instead of going to church. The priest says, “And you got upset over that and swore?” The man replied, “No, that wasn’t why I swore. On the first tee I duckhooked my drive well left into the trees.” The priest said, “And that’s when you swore.” The man replied, a little testily because of the constant interruptions, “No, it wasn’t. When I walked up the fairway, I noticed my ball got a lucky bounce and I had a clear shot to the green. However, before I could hit the ball, a squirrel ran by and grabbed my ball and scurried up a tree.” The priest asked, “Is that when you said the ‘F-word’?” The man replied, “No, because an eagle then flew by and caught the squirrel in its sharp talons and flew away.” The priest let out a breath and queried, “Is that when you swore?” The man replied, “No, because the eagle flew over the green and the dying squirrel let go of my golf ball and it landed within 5 inches of the hole.” The priest screamed, “Don’t tell me you missed the f...ing putt!!!”

Traveling
It was late and a traveler was looking for a room to spend the night. He had stopped at every hotel and motel and there were no rooms available. At the far edge of town, he spotted one last motel. It was his only hope. Unfortunately, the traveler was told by the clerk at this motel they had no rooms available also. “What am I to do?” the traveler asked. “Please, please you have to help me. I have tried all the other places and there are no rooms and you are my last resort.” “Well I do have a double room with only one occupant in it. He stays here all the time. He probably won’t mind you staying in there and splitting the cost. But I have to tell you, he snores very loud. You may not get much sleep.” “Sounds great,” the traveler said and he took the room. The next morning when he was checking out, the clerk asked how he slept. “I slept very well, thank you,” the traveler said. “How were you able to sleep with all the snoring?” the clerk asked. “It wasn’t a problem at all,” the man said. “When I got to the room I got undressed, walked over, gave him a little kiss on the cheek and said ‘goodnight,’ and he sat up all night watching me.”
The Passenger
A total naked woman rushed in a taxi. The taxi driver turned back and stared at her so keenly. The woman asked the taxi driver, “Why are you staring at me that way, haven’t you ever seen a naked woman before?” The taxi driver replied, “Yes I have, I’m just trying to figure out where you have my money.”
Ambitions
A teacher asks her class, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Little Johnny says “I wanna be a billionaire, going to the most expensive clubs, take the best bitch with me, give her a Ferrari worth over a million bucks, an apartment in Hawaii, a mansion in Paris, a jet to travel through Europe, an Infinite Visa Card and to make love to her three times a day”. The teacher, shocked, and not knowing what to do with the bad behavior of the child, decides not to give importance to what he said and then continues the lesson. “And you, Susie? “ the teacher asks. Susie says “I wanna be Johnny’s bitch.”
Concerned Citizen
As I walked into the WAWA’s, I noticed these two police officers watching a woman who was smoking while pumping her gas. I saw her & thought, “Is this lady stupid, crazy or both,” especially with the cop RIGHT there to her left. But anyway, I went inside and as I was paying, I heard someone screaming. Like, I’m talkin’ violent death screams. I looked outside and this woman’s arm was on fire! She was swinging her arm, running around all crazy!! When I got outside, the cops had the woman on the ground, putting the fire out! Then they put handcuffs on her and threw her in the police car. I was thinking, arrested???, she should be in an ambulance, not a cop car. Being the concerned citizen that I am, I asked what they were arresting her for? The cop looked at me just as serious as he could and said, “WAVING A FIRE ARM!”
