KREMBIL CENTRE for Health Management & Leadership
Launch and Leadership Summit LEADING THE WAY POST-COVID Thursday, September 23, 2021 6:00 to 8:35 pm EDT via Zoom
Global Reach. Innovative Programs. Diverse Perspectives.
Schulich’s newly established Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership, in collaboration with Deloitte, invites you to our launch event and leadership summit. Join Robert Krembil (MBA ’71, Hon LLD ’00) and the Krembil Foundation, Schulich Interim Dean Detlev Zwick, and Centre Director Joseph Mapa, along with health sector colleagues and the Schulich community at this thought leadership event that will explore the future of healthcare in a post-pandemic world. York University President and Vice-Chancellor Rhonda L. Lenton, and Schulich Dean Emeritus Dezsö J. Horváth will also provide introductory remarks at the start of the event. COVID-19 has been an extraordinary and profound experience for all sectors, especially for healthcare, the “front-line” sector. Albert Einstein said “in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity” — opportunity to learn, opportunity to grow and opportunity to build a better future state. Effective leaders embrace this opportunity. The purpose of our Launch and Leadership Summit is to take stock and reflect on the ideas of renowned thought leaders in four vital and timely areas of healthcare. How do we make these key areas better in the post-pandemic era? What have we learned and what needs to change?
KREMBIL CENTRE FOR HEALTH MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP Made possible by a $5-million gift from the Krembil Foundation and Schulich graduate Robert Krembil (MBA ’71, Hon LLD ’00), the Krembil Centre for Health Management and Leadership will become a leading global hub of health industry outreach, education and research at Schulich. A key feature of the Centre’s work will be the development of a new, one-year professional degree, the Master of Health Industry Administration. Other core elements of the Centre are the establishment of the Krembil Chair for Health Management and Leadership; the Krembil Public Healthcare Internship Program, which allows students to gain real-world experience working under the mentorship of senior healthcare leaders; and new student scholarships.
“ In these difficult and challenging times, it has never been more important to develop the kind of leaders in the healthcare sector who can anticipate change and provide responsible, innovative solutions. It is for that reason that I am particularly proud of this initiative with the Schulich School of Business.” ROBERT KREMBIL (MBA ’71, Hon LLD ’00)
The new Centre is located at Schulich’s award-winning, sustainably designed Rob and Cheryl McEwen Graduate Study & Research Building.
