The most common insects that ladybugs eat are aphids, which are serious pest of plants. They will control the pest insects on the plant without the technician having to use chemical pesticides. Residents, “NO TRESPASSING” “DANGER KEEP OUT” These signs are there for a reason, please obey! No one is to be in or around the detention pond playing, riding their bikes or motorized vehicle, climbing or crawling in the pipes this is very dangerous. No trash or clippings of trees and grass is to be dumped in the pond. Any injury sustained while playing in or around the detention pond will be the responsibility of the parent. Anyone being in or throwing trash in the detention pond will be charged with Criminal Trespassing subject to a fine or jail by the Sheriff. These ponds are to help our subdivision in rain and flood. The detention ponds will hopefully help our homes from being flooded.

MEN’S OUTWARD FLAG FOOTBALL: Come join men 18 yrs and older for our men’s Outward Flag Football league coming this fall. Practice/Games will be on Saturday afternoons around 2:00 PM. The league will have a tournament at the conclusion of the season. Evaluations for all players will be Tuesday and Thursday, September 10th and 12th from 6:00-7:00 PM and Saturday, September 14th from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. These will take place on the fields behind the church. Cost for the league will be $35 per player covering cost of officials and jersey. First games will be October 12th and season concludes on November 9th with tournament. UPWARD SOCCER, UPWARD FLAG FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING: Bear Creek Baptist Church is offering Upward Soccer, Flag Football and Cheerleading this Fall. We will be having Upward Soccer for children 4 yrs. By September 1, 2013 through 6th Grade. Our Flag Football and Cheerleading will be for children in K this year through 6th Grade. Register before school starts. Our first evaluation is before school starts. Each child needs to attend an evaluation, not for the whole two hours, but for about 20 min. This year we have an early special price of $70 for those that register before August 18th. We have our first evaluation on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the back fields behind our parking lot. Our next evaluations will be Tuesday and Thursday, September 4th and 6th from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM. On Saturday, September 8th between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Cost is $75. One A-Chord is an interdenominational men’s and women’s singing group with a music ministry to the elderly in Katy and West Houston. Ayusa, a non-profit organization that promotes global learning and leadership through cultural exchange and leadership programs for high school students from around the world, is looking for American families in the Houston and surrounding areas interested in sharing their America with international high school students for the 20132014 school year. Applications for interested host families are currently being accepted. Ayusa foreign exchange students come from more than 60 countries, are fully insured, bring their own spending money and are proficient in English.
