Everyone will be required to sign in with their name and address each time they visit the pool. The name of children age 12 and under and guests should be listed under the name of the resident who brought them to the pool. Residents MUST wear their wrist band at all times. Cost to replace lost or stolen wrist bands is $5 per band. • Each adult (18 and over) will be issued a PURPLE wrist band • Each child age 13 to 17 years will be issued a ORANGE wrist band • Children age 12 and under will not need a band as they must be accompanied by an adult • 2 guests per household will be allowed LATE POOL REGISTRATION If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled Wrist Band Registration dates, bands will be distributed by mail at a cost of $5 per band. **WRIST BANDS MAY NOT BE PICKED UP AT THE MANAGEMENT OFFICE. • Time now to make plans for fall landscaping projects. • Clean up ﬂowerbeds of fallen foliage, yellowed leaves and dead wood. Light green leaves may signify lack of iron (chlorosis). Correct with iron cheleates. • Cut off old dead foliage on irises. Scratch in a little bone meal around the roots. • Prune roses to reshape and groom plants for fall growth. • Wait until November to plant petunias and pansies. • Chinch bug damage is obvious now. You will have areas of thin and/or dead turf where they weren’t brought under control. There is a new generation going now. This batch causes the most damage. Use Dursban to stop the damage. • Until the weather gets back to the 80’s, St. Augustine grass grows slowly. If you ﬁll in with sod, don’t expect a fast turnaround. The sod may look like it’s not growing while it puts down roots. You will need to water the new sod often and deeply to get it started but this also creates a disease environment. Water early so the sun can dry the turf. • Now is a good time to work new beds. Till them up, add organic material, mix it in, then let them cure for a month or so. Add in any amendments like micro-nutrients. Keep the beds moist so the microorganisms have a favorable environment.

Dark Chocolate And Cinnamon Frozen Custard INGREDIENTS: 2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream 1/2 cup milk 3/4 cup white sugar 2 tablespoons unsweetened dark cocoa powder 1 ounce high-quality dark chocolate (85%), finely chopped 5 egg yolks 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, plus more for dusting DIRECTIONS: Whisk cream, milk, sugar and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat until the mixture is thoroughly combined and the sugar has dissolved. Bring almost to a simmer and stir in dark chocolate until melted. Whisk egg yolks into the cream mixture and cook until batter is slightly thickened, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a container, cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 6 hours. Stir cinnamon into chilled custard batter and freeze in an ice cream machine following manufacturer’s instructions. Cy-Fair High School graduate and WNBA star Chiney Ogwumike visited her hometown, Cypress, yet again in May to inspire young female athletes and academically successful women at Cypress Springs High School. “No matter what you’re doing, be the best you can be,” Ogwumike said to the student athletes at Cypress Springs. Ogwumike started out playing basketball at Cy-Fair High School, going on to win two state championships before earning a scholarship to Stanford University after turning down Connecticut and Notre Dame. “It’s always fun coming home because I remember being in their shoes,” Ogwumike said. After the brief talk to the girls at the presentation, Ogwumike attempted to inspire the student athletes to try their hardest. “The speech really was a great inspiration to me,” said student Iliana Lora.
