BRADFORD COLONY SECTION 3
By now, you should have paid your 2016 Annual Assessment. The annual assessments for 2016 did not increase from last year. This is our third year at just $300 per home. If you have not paid your 2016 annual statement, please contact Principal Management Group and speak to a representative in the accounting department and request a payment plan. Property owners are legally responsible for making sure the annual assessment fee is paid on the time as required by the governing legal documents.
CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE: WWW.BCS3.ORG
Therefore, if you have not paid please make sure that that you contact Principal Management Group and make payment arrangements. Remember, the final obligation to make sure your assessments are paid remains with you! Many mortgage companies do not escrow association dues.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY! HAPPY EASTER!
If you have any special needs or questions concerning your assessment statement, call Principal Management Group at 713329-7100. Frank Gonzalez is our neighborhood manager; Brandi Edmond is his assistant. Either can help answer your questions.

(CHC) SPRING BREAK
Bear Creek Animal Clinic Pet Wellness Fair Saturday, March 19th, (8am-11:30am)
CyFair ISD has Spring Break the week of March 14th-18th. Lone Star College and some of the larger universities have their break the same week. Be aware that kids will be out running around. Kids will be kids and often don’t look before darting into the street. Be careful while driving. For all those commuters, traffic should be better that week.
www.bearcreekanimalclinic.com Ask about Senior and Dental Days
Traveling over spring break? Make your home look occupied by using timers on lights and even on TV’s or radios. You can stop your mail on-line (https://holdmail.usps.com/holdmail/) or at the post office. You can stop the newspaper or ask someone to pick it up for you. A home that looks lived in is less likely to be burglarized. Need more ideas? Look on-line. It’s amazing the information you can find. As always, report any suspicious activity to the Sheriff by calling 713-221-6000.

(CHC) DOG WALKING As our weather improves and everyone gets out for an evening walk with both their two legged and four legged friends, please remember to clean up any deposits left behind. Our four legged friends often leave deposits in your neighbors’ yards. Newspaper bags, bread wrappers and any used plastic bag can be used to pick these up.

Driving through each main entrance, you’ll notice the tree canopies have been lifted and the continuing work on the flowerbeds! Our park in Section 1 is coming together and is now visible! The Chinese Tallow trees were removed and replaced by beautiful Shumard Oak trees. This will provide beautiful shade for the park as well as help keep up the integrity of the equipment! Keep your eyes open for other updates made around the neighborhood as we’re continuing efforts to create a more beautiful space and a more eye-catching environment.
(JC) COMING SOON! Pool tags will be issued soon. Please keep an eye out for signs with information on dates and times to receive those. Also, please keep in mind you will not be issued a pool tag if your HOA dues are not up to date. Deed restrictions are strictly enforced by Yorktown Colony HOA. You may obtain a copy of restrictions by calling Frank at PMG, 713-329-7169. “I’m In PAIN” Can Chiropractic Help ME ?
We are often asked, “What’s the best way of finding out whether or not a doctor of chiropractic can help my problem?” We believe the answer can be found in a complete chiropractic consultation and examination, including x-rays. And to help find out for sure, we will do a complete consultation and examination, including x-rays, if necessary, (procedures that normally cost $187.00 or more) for $25.00. We will make this special program available through March. The only exception to the offer involves personal injury cases (workers’ compensation and auto accidents) in which there is no charge directly to the patient.

THE SCOUTS ARE COMING By Cheryl Conley, TWRC Wildlife Center For some, there’s nothing more exciting than the arrival of the migratory bird, the Purple Martin. They are the largest of the North American swallows. Flying from South America where they winter, they faithfully return to the same locations every year. The first to arrive are called scouts and they are usually the older males. They are not looking for nesting areas but simply returning to where they nested before. The younger males follow and then the females arrive. Both sexes help build the nest, which will be home to 4 or 5 babies. As soon as the chicks leave the nest, the Martins start congregating in large flocks and roost together in preparation for their trip south. Have you ever heard anyone say, “Location, location, location?” This is especially true if you want to attract Purple Martins. They are colonial nesting birds, which means they occupy apartment-type houses. Since Purple Martins feed while in flight, they prefer their housing be placed in the open, away from human housing and trees. They eat mosquitos, beetles, wasps, dragonflies and other day-flying insects. House Sparrows and Starlings can take over your Purple Martin house. They can prevent Martins from nesting, destroy their eggs and kill nestlings. Do some research on the internet and find out how you can become a successful Purple Martin landlord.

MARCH GARDENING TIPS
VEGETABLES • Plant vegetables such as tomatoes, sweet corn and snap beans and pepper, as well as cucumbers, lima or butter beans, cantaloupe, okra (if the soil has warmed sufficiently - 70 degrees F. or higher), southern peas, pumpkin, squash, peanuts and watermelon. LAWN • Re-sod or replant as needed with turfgrasses adapted to this part of Texas and suited to the planting location (shade or sun). • When resodding semi-shaded areas with St. Augustine, use ONLY the variety Floratam for best pest resistance. See www.plantanswers.com/grass.htm. TREES AND SHRUBS • Plant container-grown trees and shrubs as soon as possible. In shady areas, where grass is difficult to grow, consider planting a dependable groundcover such as English ivy, Asian jasmine, vinca or one of the prostrate junipers. • Prune spring flowering and evergreen shrubs during early March. However, be sure to prune spring flowering shrubs after they have bloomed. • Fertilize with a pre-plant application of a slow-release fertilizer analysis such as 19 - 5 - 9 at the rate of 3 pounds

BE WISE - ORGANIZE! It is so easy to keep putting things in your secret pile in that room or area no one sees. But one day someone will notice! Be wise - organize! Here are some easy DIY tips: • Shoe Boxes as DIY Dividers: You can make a completely customizable set with just scissors and shoe boxes. Simply cut the boxes in half by length or width, as needed for your space, then tuck into a drawer. • Picture Frames as Dry-Erase Board: Stay on top of your errands with an eye-catching DIY memo board: Frame a pretty scrap of fabric or wallpaper, hang in a high traffic area and use a dry-erase market to jot down reminders on the glass. • Stepladders as a Bedside Table: This minimalist take on a night table holds only the essentials-a lamp, a smartphone, water-forcing you to edit which items spend the night there.

• Magnets as a Medicine Cabinet Organizer: Mount a magnetic strip on the inside of the medicine cabinet door to store tweezers, bobby pins and other grooming tools in plain sight. • A Wine Rack as a Wall Organizer: Hang an unused wine rack on the wall of your garage or supply closet to stash rags, tools, extension cords and more odds and ends.
