LICENSING OF DOGS AND CATS IN FORT BEND COUNTY
County Animal Services. To be registered, dogs and cats must be current on all vaccinations and have a rabies shot done by a veterinarian in the State of Texas. The cost is $1 for spayed and neutered dogs and cats and $5 for dogs and cats who have not been spayed or neutered. Senior citizens may register their dog or cat for $1. The cost of all licenses is for 1 year only and must be renewed annually. To register your dog or cat, send rabies certificates, proof of spay/neutering (vet bill), along with a money order to Fort Bend County Animal Services, 1210 Blume Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471. TRASH REMINDER
Trash receptacles and recycle bins must be stored in garage or behind house out of public view on non-trash days. This is unsightly and is not the image we want to present in our community. Trash pickup days are Tuesday and Friday. Friday is heavy trash day. Trash should not be placed at curb before 6 PM the night before trash is picked up. Please respect the deed restrictions.

If you observe speeding cars in your area, you can contact the Sheriff’s Department at 281-341-4665 to request patrols so that speeding is discouraged. The Sheriff’s Department has been given authority to enforce traffic laws on our private streets.
OVERNIGHT PARKING IN THE STREET IS NOT PERMITTED
Article XI, Section 10 of the Declaration states, “No Overnight Parking of Vehicles in the Street is Permitted.” Violations will result in an initial $100 fine and then a $25 fine per night until the violation is corrected.
SOCCER FIELD RESERVATIONS
The soccer fields at the neighborhood center can be reserved by contacting Rachel Schmutz of Community Solutions at 713-4295449. Reservations must be made by a resident of Falcon Point East HOA (the Arbor, the Grove, the Landing and the Meadows) and who is responsible for the activities on the field during the reserved time.

NEED ADDITIONAL GATE TRANSMITTERS AND/OR GATE CARDS? Gate transmitters and gate cards are available for purchase. Transmitters are $40 each and cards are $10 each at this time. If you wish to buy gate access equipment, you can contact the Gate Committee at FPE.gates@gmail.com.

It is strongly recommended that everyone purchase a wallet card to be able to gain access to the neighborhood, in case your transmitter battery fails or you need to gain access to the community, but you are not in your own car. Transmitter allows access to all gates in our community. The card and 6-digits access code is only good for the section you live in.
COMMUNITY INFORMATION
The Falcon Point East subdivision consists of the 613 lots located in the Arbor, the Grove, the Landing and the Meadows. Owners of these lots are members of the Falcon Point East Homeowners Association, Inc. (the Association). The Association is managed by Community Manager. Policy is set by a five member Board of Directors (the “Board”). The Board is elected by the members of the Association at the Annual Meeting of Members held in October or November of each year. In each newsletter, there is a list entitled, “Important Numbers for Falcon Point East.” You can cut it out and put it on your refrigerator for easy reference.

2015 POOL RULES SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK • Members and their guests (maximum of two guests allowed per member) are permitted during pool hours. • Group parties require a reservation of the facility with a $100 usage deposit that is refundable after inspection. • Members are required to clean up after themselves by replacing all chairs in their proper locations, lowering all umbrellas and removing any trash that remains. • Use of the pool is only permitted during pool hours. • Members will be held responsible for the actions of their guests. • Use of the pool is prohibited for persons with communicable diseases or open wounds. • Pets are prohibited. • Alcohol and other drugs are prohibited. • Smoking is prohibited. • Glass containers are prohibited. • Profanity, improper behavior and intoxication are prohibited. • Horseplay and running are prohibited. • Children under the age of twelve (12) are not permitted without an adult. • A supervising adult must be within arms-reach of a child wearing a life preserver. • All non-toilet trained children must wear swim diapers. • NO DIVING is permitted. • The Wading Pool is limited to children 5 years old and younger. • SUPERVISING ADULTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES.

KISD BOWLERS EACH BOWL A PERFECT 300 GAME Zach Perez bowled a perfect 300 game at Times Square Entertainment on November 1, 2014 during the youth league. He was the KISD District Champ in 2014. He will be a freshman at Texas A&M in the fall.

Braden Thom bowled a perfect 300 game at Times Square Entertainment on January 11, 2015 during the youth league. He was the KISD District Runner-up in 2015 and the Regional Runner-up in 2015. He will be a senior at Cinco Ranch High School in the fall. Daniel Gaw bowled a perfect 300 game at Times Square Entertainment on June 27, 2015 during the youth league. He was the KISD District Champ in 2015, the Regional Champ in 2015 and a semifinalist in Texas in 2015. He will be a junior at Cinco Ranch High School in the fall. Zach, Braden and Daniel were all key members of the Cinco Ranch High School Boys Varsity Bowling Team. Zach was the team captain in 2013 and 2015. Braden will be the team captain in 2016. The team was the Katy ISD District Champ in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and the Regional Champ in 2014 and 2015. The CRHS team placed 7th in the qualifying round in the Texas High School Bowling Club Tournament in San Antonio in 2014. The team placed 6th in the qualifying round in the state tournament in Fort Worth in 2015. Zach and Braden represented Katy ISD in the Texas All District Bowling Tournament in College Station in 2013. Daniel joined them in 2014 and 2015. KISD placed 1st in the qualifying round in 2014, then lost in the 1st match play round. KISD placed 9th in 2015. Times Square Entertainment hosts the KISD high school bowling program and the Saturday morning youth scholarship league. NEW HOPE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER New Hope Child Development Center ended another fun year with many joyful celebrations including Splash Day and Graduation ceremony. Our “Big Kids” sang and danced their hearts out to a very proud audience of parents and students. There was lots of laughter with a few tears mixed in. We are always sad to see our children grow up and move on but we’ve been doing this for nearly 35 years so you would think we would be used to this by now! Our year was sprinkled with many community outreach projects benefiting Pregnancy Help Center’s Connor’s Closet, JoJo’s Bears, Eternal Food Ministries, Souper Bowl of Caring and several Homeless ministries. We are looking forward to another exciting school year. We have openings in our young 2’s class (18-23 months) and our Bridge class. We also have several employment opportunities as well. Registration for our 5-on-5 season will begin in September. KYB has developed a new website and registration platform and will now be offering parents the ability to complete all their registration needs online, prior to our walk-up registration, which is now optional. However, KYB will continue to host a walk-up registration for those who prefer to register in person. KYB offers a 5-on-5 league for boys and girls of all skill levels who are currently enrolled in 1st-8th grades and who reside within the Katy ISD attendance boundaries. Practices will begin in November and games will begin in January.

Singers, dancers and Instrumentalists are invited to join the “Grace Notes” a performing group which shares music with the elderly in retirement homes, Alzheimer’s and nursing facilities and community events. We sing a combination of secular, patriotic and sacred music. We also sing once a month on Sunday morning for the congregation of St. Peter’s UMC. FREE MUSIC PROGRAMS AT LIVING WORD LUTHERAN CHURCH FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH Children and youth of the Katy-area community are invited to join Living Word Lutheran Church’s music programs. The following programs are available: Children (4 yrs-1st grade) are invited to join the Cherubs music program and children (grades 2-5) are invited to join the Choristers music program. The children will learn to read music, sing in a healthy vocal style and play chimes and other instruments. Cherubs will meet on Mondays from 6-6:45 PM beginning September 14th and Choristers will meet on Tuesdays from 6-7:15 PM beginning September 1st. The groups will sing during worship services about once a month and a children’s musical will be performed in the spring of 2016.

Youth (grades 6-12) are also invited to join Living Word Lutheran Church’s music program. They will learn to read music by singing and playing hand bells. Or, if your child prefers to play a band or orchestra instrument rather than sing, they are also welcome to join the group. The group will meet on Sundays at 4-5 PM beginning Sunday, September 13th. The youth will sing about once a month in worship services and will sing in Living Word’s annual Christmas and Easter Cantatas. There is also the opportunity for solo singing if desired. The Coastal Prairie Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists has a membership of 85 outdoor enthusiasts. For the last 10 years, chapter members have enjoyed learning together and sharing their love of the outdoors with others. The chapter is part of a state-wide Master Naturalist organization consisting of 8,140 volunteers in 44 local chapters with a total of over 2 million service hours as of 2012! Statewide TMN volunteers have impacted or conducted projects on approximately 195,700 acres of habitat while also developing or maintaining some 1,775 miles of interpretive trails. The Texas Master Naturalists program is sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Dept. has a computer-generated program called “Are You OK?” (RUOK). It is a computer-generated call intended for senior citizens (over 55) and disabled persons who live alone and could benefit from a daily check. A computer will generate a call each morning, at about the same time and the participant chooses a time frame. A voice will ask, “Are you OK?” After this, all they have to do is hang up the phone. If the participant goes out of town or leaves the residence for any time, you just temporarily unsubscribe and re-subscribe when you return. If the call goes

Laws are written to ensure that owned animals are confined to their property or kept on a leash to free a community of unrestrained and free-roaming animals. Although most dog bites occur on the property where the dog lives, unrestrained or free-roaming dogs do pose a substantial threat to the public. Licensing also: • Ensures that rabies vaccination are current. • Allows for quick identification in case of a bite incident. • Provides revenue to offset the administration costs of the animal control program. VACCINATION Rabies vaccinations are a prerequisite for licensing dogs and cats because they are an important control measure for the public health threat of rabies. In addition to protecting pets, rabies vaccinations provide a barrier between infected wild animals and humans.

We went looking for recipes for the National Cheese Pizza Day and the Acorn Squash Day this month. Enjoy! FOUR CHEESE MARGHERITA PIZZA
CHEESY ACORN SQUASH
INGREDIENTS: 1/4 cup olive oil 1 tablespoon minced garlic 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 8 Roma tomatoes, sliced 2 (12 inch) pre-baked pizza crusts 8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese 4 ounces shredded Fontina cheese 10 fresh basil leaves, washed, dried 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
INGREDIENTS: 1 acorn squash, halved and seeded 3 tablespoons butter 1 cup diced celery 1 cup finely chopped onion 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 pinch ground black pepper 1 teaspoon chopped parsley 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
DIRECTIONS: Stir together olive oil, garlic and salt; toss with tomatoes and allow to stand for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Brush each pizza crust with some of the tomato marinade. Sprinkle the pizzas evenly with Mozzarella and Fontina cheeses. Arrange tomatoes overtop, then sprinkle with shredded basil, Parmesan and feta cheese. DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place squash cut side down in a glass dish. Cook in microwave for 20 minutes on HIGH, until almost tender. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and add celery and onion; saute until transparent. Stir in mushrooms; cook 2 to 3 minutes more. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and parsley. Divide mixture in half, spoon into the squash and cover. Cook 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Uncover, sprinkle with cheese and put back in the oven until the cheese bubbles.
