MPCA would like to suggest that garage sales be conducted the This will eliminate the many signs that are out each week and also makes for a stronger turn out. Most area communities only allow sales twice a year. Memorial Parkway could be known for its “Once a Month” garage sales.

Memorial Parkway Community Association has inspectors that drive through the neighborhood checking for violations of our deed restrictions. They are not permitted to get out of their cars and/or trespass on your property. They only take pictures of violations that can be seen from the street. please do not approach their vehicle to confront them. Their vehicles MPCA sign on the car door that says deed
Do not attach your garage sale signs to the STOP signs, as it is on a public right of way, like the esplanades), they may be subject to not post your signs on the property of another resident. When your sale is over, please go back and pick up all of your signs.

Our inspectors make every effort to make sure they’ve got the right violation logged to the right address with the right picture to go along with it. But with 2,219 homes to inspect and over 25 miles of streets, mistake, and will remove the violation from your record.

As you can see from the following list, we have many un-resolved deed violations that are ruining the over-all appearance of our neighborhood. Storing miscellaneous items in view from the street can easily be remedied by just moving those items to another location - no cost involved. Storing trash receptacles and recycle bins in view can easily remedied by just moving them to another location that can’t be seen from the street - no cost involved. Correcting these two violations alone would greatly improve the appearance of your property.

The next big item is lawn maintenance. Many of our residents mow every two weeks, but at certain times of the year, yards may have to be done every week to maintain a neat appearance. We understand that it takes time and money to resolve some of the other violations such as rotten wood, fences falling down, repainting the exterior of your home, etc. We will work with you and allow ample time to take care of the violation, but you must contact us when you your account.

animal control LEASH LAW Animals that are not properly restrained pose a threat to all our residents. While you may know your pet is friendly, an animal running at someone who is walking by is very scary for that person. Many children are afraid of animals and become frightened, which could result in the child getting hurt trying to avoid the animal. Harris County Animal Control advises, “All dogs and cats must be kept under restraint while in the unincorporated areas of Harris County, Texas. The custodian of a dog or cat is not authorized to have, harbor or keep any unlicensed dog or cat nor to allow any dog or cat to become a stray.” following circumstances: 1. When it is controlled by a line or leash not more than six (6) feet in length, if the line or leash is held by a human being who is capable of controlling or governing the dog or cat in question. 2. When it is within a fully enclosed vehicle. 3. When it is on the premise of the custodian and the animal does not have access to sidewalk or street. While it may be nice to have your animal out in the yard while you work or play, it is against the law, unless the animal is properly restrained.
To make a complaint or report an animal that is not properly restrained please contact: Harris County Precinct #5, Contract #87: 281-463-6666 Harris County Animal Control: 281-999-3191 Harris County Health Department, Rabies/Animal Control Section 2223 West Loop South, Houston, Texas 77027-3588 www.countypets.com
PROCEDURE FOR REPORTING BARKING DOGS: 1. Contact your neighbor and work it out as good neighbors should. 2. In the event that #1 is not possible, contact the Constables at 281463-6666. It is our understanding that the Constables will investigate their records.
PROCEDURE FOR REPORTING LOOSE DOGS, DOG BITES & LOST PETS: 1. Contact Harris County Animal Control at 281-999-3191 or 281999-3194. A recorded message will guide you through the system. When reporting a loose animal you will be asked to give your name and address, a description of the animal and the address of the animal’s owner (if known).

Let’s all help keep our community a safe and comfortable place for all our residents by being responsible pet owners. This will not only protect anyone who may be walking or bicycling in the area, but also the pet owner who could be held legally responsible or possibly sued for failing to properly restrain their pet.
The ACC is receiving record numbers of requests to make improvements or changes to the exterior of homes. We thank you for

Dominguez, this year’s Elementary District-wide Teacher of the Year, is a self-contained bilingual teacher and team leader. She has taught in Katy ISD since 2008 and holds a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin. Dominguez says that what makes teaching rewarding for her is to see students grow academically and in character as the year progresses. Spurlock, this year’s Secondary District-wide Teacher of the Year, teaches both English III & IV, and has been with Katy ISD since 1998. She holds a B.A. in secondary education, English and Dance from the University of Houston and is currently working on her Master’s in English. Spurlock enjoys fueling energy in her classroom by celebrating accomplishments and creating a desire amongst teachers through the fears and challenges of education. Both District-wide Teachers of the Year were recognized during the April Board of Trustees meeting and will be nominated by Katy ISD for the 2012 Region 4 Texas Teacher of the Year program.

CRAZY DAYS OF 5TH GRADE an Iggy the Iguana Book Written by Melissa M. Williams
ble a l i a Av ow! N
Crazy Days of 5th Grade is the 3rd book in the Iggy the Iguana chapter book series for children which focuses on themes of the upper elementary classroom, including making new friends, positive changes in learning styles and respect for others. When Iggy’s new teacher, Mr. Gruff the goat, continues to eat his homework, he realizes his old ways of studying are over. It will take the mind of a creative genius and a lot of make-believe to revitalize Iggy’s concentration in class. What started off as a lonely, boring school year missing his best friend Snap Shell the turtle, turns into a suspenseful ride that includes a strange encounter with a crab and an unexpected trip to the hospital. With the help of his friends and his little sister’s stuffed animals, Iggy discovers a hidden talent proving what he once considered a problem was really a gift in disguise.
Reading level: Ages 7-11 Page count: 220 Themes include: Acceptance, Diversity, Empathy, Friendship, Bullying, Health
